I must crucify the ego before it's far too late

Who:Real!Gabriel and Mirror!Gabe (OTA seriously)
Where:Mirrorverse or Wonderland
When: The duration of the event.
Rating:I'll slap a PG-13 on this just cause it's Gabe but will change if it goes in other places for one reason or another.
Summary: Mirror!Gabriel answers his Queen and crosses over, throwing his real self into the mirror world and the Archangel is going to go poke around where he doesn't belong. Still no regrets in not breaking his mirror.
The Story:

So this is how the other half lived hm? How curious. Gabriel thought to himself as he milled about the reverse mansion. He wonders who else was trapped here or what alternate versions of people were still on this side. Was Michael here? Or William? These versions were said to be polar opposites, his curiosity does have him nearly itching to see what they're like. It's just too bad he can't speak with himself… or could he? There had to be a safe way to do so.

Ah well, the Queen made a mistake letting him cross over. He'd been honestly hoping for an opportunity to get into this world and learn what he could. He wondered what would happen, if most of her soldiers are over trying to collect the sword, does that leave her mostly unguarded? Could he kill her? Would that send them all back or destroy the balance? Really, if the Queen weren't worried about having him here than she was a fool.

((ooc: you can find him all around the reverse world/mansion, feel free to toss whoever at either of them. I'm up for whatever!))

There are a few things William can tell just by the way that Gabriel is acting, from the things that he's saying. The first one is glaringly obvious; that his other self isn't anyone of any kind of importance. Had it been so, the Archangel would have said it by now instead of circling like a cat stalking it's prey. Which meant the obvious disrespect. In a way it was interesting to see this one talking and acting like he was in charge of the whole thing, William just turning his head slightly to follow Gabriel's path. Sure, there's a knife in his other hand behind his back, but that's just in case.

"No point in attacking you, that would benefit no-one at the end of it all. I'm only armed in case you feel the need to do something stupid. Anyway, you've not said anything original to warrant my full attention since you got here. Considering I hear God, you have your work cut out for you."

Eyes narrow slightly at the mocking laugh, though William isn't going to rise to that insult. He's caught glimpses of the other him, and he can't blame Gabriel one bit for being derisive of the whole thing. Doesn't mean he's not telling the truth though, William merely tapping his foot in the air to a rhythm only he can hear.

"When you're quite done with your posturing horse crap? Ready? Alright. The Gabriel here doesn't have to buy it when he knows it's the truth; I'm a prophet, and he's sworn to protect me. You and I both know you can't get an archangel to do something they don't want to do so...." William pauses, putting a finger to his chin as he pretends to think on it.

"Unless you're trying to say that your Father isn't powerful enough to talk across realms. Tsk tsk, what a terrible son."

It is a dead give away, the smirk on William's lips widening ever so slightly as Gabriel bears down on him. Most would be terrified at the sight, but William is so used to his own Gabriel that he's almost de-sensitized to it. That and the whole thing is a power play, one he's not intending on losing anytime soon, and so he sits there, head tilting up as he watches the archangel stomping on over. He's not even going to flinch away, watching with blatant amusement.

"You are like a bull in a china shop. I don't need to answer to you, so if that's the opinion you want, then you're entitled to keep it. Doesn't change the truth one bit, but that's your problem not mine."

The amusement on Gabriel's face is enough to wipe the smirk from William's, the mirror unsure of why he should even be worried about it. Everything is telling him that right now this has gone from sniping at each other to bad news, that feeling solidified by the mention of being killed. William doubts Gabriel would strike, but is that him knowing better or just assuming by thinking of what his Gabriel would do?

"That's for me to know." It's about as neutral as William can even stomach replying with, rolling his eyes as he turns his nose up slightly. This version of the archangel is obnoxious as anything. Wonders never ceased. "Do you really think the Queen would let the mirrors cross over and not expect people to strut in here to take a swipe?"

A normal person would have run for it the moment those wings unfurled, would run twice as fast if they knew what damage could be done with those dark feathers. William wasn't running though, watching the wings with nothing more than bemusement. Even birds could posture like that.

It's only when Gabriel mentions his mirror that the alarm bells in William's head give a brief, single bleat of noise. Now this could be trouble indeed, the mirror stamping down on any kind of nerves. Nerves were a weakness, and when it came to angels like this, the worst thing anyone could do was show signs of being afraid. That and who was afraid? Certainly not William, not in his eyes at any rate. Shoulders are squared when the archangel stalks in, the human leaning back ever so slightly. So it was threats of violence now? Where the normal William was not someone who enjoyed violence, the same could not be said for his counterpart in the mirror world. Instead of backing off like any normal, sane being would, he merely gives another grin, eyebrows raising.

"I dare you."

The mirror doesn't answer the questions as Gabriel asks them, keeping his mouth firmly closed and not saying a single word in return. He isn't going to answer anything he doesn't want to, and giving the other information so easily would be folly. William doesn't doubt for a second this one would take anything he could and run with it.

When the wing lashes out William is so caught up in keeping his shoulders squared that he barely even flinches, not even feeling the cut to begin with. He just keeps his stare on the archangel for a few seconds, wondering just what the Hell he was meant to be doing with this one. This Gabriel was going to be a handful, and it's on the heels of that thought that his cheek finally begins to sting, William silently raising fingertips to press against it. The wetness on his face says it all, the mirror pulling his hand back to peer at the red on it, index finger and thumb slowly rubbing together as he studies his own blood with a curious look.

This was now new territory and William can't deny he's fascinated by it. Fascinated and irked. This opposite of his Gabriel was just that in every sense, brash, loud-mouthed and arrogant. It's enough that William is starting to wish his own Gabriel was back, putting his hand down and giving the most elegant shrug he can muster. In his opinion that's more than Gabriel deserves right now, smile not even reaching his eyes.

"I'll push you all I want. If you think a scratch is a lesson then I have some very bad news for you. Anyway, who's to say I didn't tell you where the Queen was? For all you know, I could be sending you in the right direction in the hopes of watching her smear you across the floor in a bloody paste."

William briefly studies his fingers again, wondering where he can wipe the blood before shrugging inwardly, licking them clean before rubbing his hands together.

"That's such a cliche thing to say I'm already disappointed. You could kill me and everyone else, but if that had been the plan then you would have done it already. The fact is, you're interested, and until then I'll just keep on breathing."

The cut on the side of William's cheek is still trickling slightly, though for now he'll ignore it, more focused on staring Gabriel down as the other settles opposite him. He noticed the slightly shocked look, and it speaks volumes about the other William, enough that he'll go for a distraction as opposed to answering the question asked. As far as William cares, they will only talk about what he wants, not what Gabriel wants. That's the way it goes, grey eyes full of amusement. Time to push some buttons.

"You go ahead and assume that. Anyway, the other William looks like a complete pushover from what I've seen. I sure hope you're not screwing him, looks like a total waste of time."

Sleeping with his own Gabriel? That gets another smirk from the mirror, the young man peering over at Gabriel with a shrewd look. He'll leave it once again to the other's imagination, because where would the fun be in letting the angel know? Still, if he wasn't sleeping with the guy, what was the point of the other William?

"If you aren't screwing him, why keep him around? From what I've seen he doesn't fight, he doesn't talk to God, he's just about useless. Unless it's the novelty of having a human pet." That would sort of make sense, this Gabriel looked lethal, it was etched in every move the other made, like a predator stalking through the wilderness. Obviously he was keeping the other William around for shits and giggles, it was the only explanation.

"You should ditch him, if you're smart. If my opposite is as useless as he looks then they're nothing but a liability."

"I see." So they were both playing the information game now, William clicking his tongue and looking to one side, thoroughly put out. It always got tedious when people decided to do the same thing back at him, never much fun or anything useful of the sort. When it came down to it, the mirror liked things to be more lively. Nothing about this conversation was lively anymore.

"Maybe I'm just trying to figure out why an archangel of all beings would deign to keep someone like that around. Hm, maybe it's pity." At that, William tilts his head as if listening to something, paying zero attention to Gabriel for a few brief moments. And then the smirk is back on his lips, William humming as he points down a nearby corridor.

"That way."

Uses which, obviously, the mirror couldn't see. If he could hear Gabriel's thoughts on kindness and being underestimated, William would have laughed until he cried. Kind people, the good guys, always finished last. They were always too busy falling over themselves to help others that they simply don't see the crap until it hits the fan. Kindness was a waste of mental capacity.

At the quotation marks William gives a wide smile, eyes crinkling. It's a cold motion, the humor not even reaching his eyes this time. Things were what they were, and nothing would change that, though mocking it? Mocking God? Enough to have William bringing the dagger from behind his back, idly dragging the tip of it across the table surface hard enough to leave deep marks. Attacking an archangel would be stupid, even he knows that, so for now he'll just have to grit his teeth and bear it.

"Could say the exact same about you, and gee what ruffled your feathers? I don't know what is that way. I just know that it is that way."

It's not quite clear which statement is the one that manages to press William's buttons, but in the end it amounts to the same thing- an absolutely murderous looking mirror jumping to his feet, teeth bared in a snarl. Was it being called insane, or was it the threat of losing a loyal soldier?

"Go ahead and tell him. No-one gives a fuck what you have to say in the first place! You don't need to believe us, Gabriel believes and I believe. That's all that's important." William is already stalking towards the archangel, and he knows that this is going to get ugly but he just can't help it, swiftly kicking a chair out of his way without even looking at it. The mirror is aware of the loud clattering noise it makes when it hits the ground, but for now his fuming gaze is focused on the annoyance in front of him.

"You're nothing but a disgusting example of why God left in the first place. Small fucking wonder He made a run for it with angels like you around."

It was nothing to do with bowing, or having people at his feet, that was such a small part of it that the comment barely even registers through the annoyance. No, it was the idea that this angel felt he could even talk his own Gabriel out of the things he believes in. William notices the wings curling, how the primaries splay ever so slightly, and he knows that's a warning. How dare he. How dare this copy waltz right in and presume to know everything and anything about how things worked. The sheer audacity of it.

"Oh please, I have nothing to do with what the rest of humanity do, and if anything I'm more inclined to help them out and get God back where he belongs. You on the other hand? Just look at the state of you."

With that, William shoves out with his hands, fully intent on giving the archangel a good solid push. "He must be so disappointed in you. Your mirror is the son that should be recognised most, not you."
