(no subject)

Who: Tseng ([profile] enigmatic_ego) and Elena ([profile] loquacious_turk)
Where Elena's room, first floor.
When: Supposedly yesterday evening
Rating: Not yet rated
Summary: Tseng has finally returned and since Celine promised Tseng a room with her, Elena has no choice but to back it up. Though everyone knows she's secretly going to enjoy it, even Tseng himself.
the Story:

Elena smirked approvingly as she looked around her room. She has successfully managed to hide all of her junk, mostly by stuffing it under her bed. Biting her bottom lip, she made sure everything was as it was supposed to be. She was anxious for Tseng to arrive, to prove that he was not just another one of the recent illusions she’d been having, or a cruel prank by another inhabitant of the mansion. She sat back against her bed, her heading suddenly spinning. If Tseng took any longer she would certainly be sick. She was already losing the battle with doubt and worry.

Jumping up, Elena began to pace the room to keep her negative thoughts at bay. A lot had changed within her when the president and her fellow Turks left her, Elena believed they’d returned to the real world without her, probably because she was un-important and a screw-up. She stopped at the wall closet to the door, wondering by now if Tseng knew her door was always unlocked.

'Unease' probably wasn't the right adjective to describe what Tseng was feeling at the moment as he stood outside Elena's door, arms folded across his chest; but it was certainly close enough. According to Celine, he had been gone from the mansion for over two months; meaning that he had subsequently left her alone for two months with no idea where he had gone. Not a note, not any sort of explanation whatsoever.

He was honestly surprised she hadn't killed him for it yet.

After a few more minutes of hesitating -- though he'd never admit that he was slightly hesitant about barging into her life again like this -- he took a deep breath and tried the door.

Unlocked, as usual. Tseng couldn't help but smile slightly at the familiarity of it all.

He pushed it open just enough to poke his head around it, and he scanned the room until his gaze rested on her. For a few brief seconds -- though it seemed like a lifetime -- he wasn't sure what to say. Eventually, he settled for something simple, just to get her attention.
"Elena."

Relief washed over him as soon as he stepped through the door; she wasn't mad -- at least, not visibly -- and she appeared to be well. He couldn't have asked for anything else. However, a brief look of surprise flickered across his face as Elena flung herself at him, and almost automatically his arms wrapped around her waist to hold her close to him, resting his chin on the top of her head.

For a few seconds, he didn't trust his voice, afraid he might say something wrong; and then he noticed she was crying, and all he wanted to do was hold her and make the tears go away.
"You... you have no idea how much I've missed you," he said quietly, so quietly that she might have missed his words, and just held her close, willing her inwardly to stop her tears.

At the moment, there was nothing but the two of them -- no mansion, no false hope, nothing except each other. And Tseng was perfectly content with that.

"You thought what?" he asked softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead, still holding her incredibly close. The sobs just seemed to intensify, and Tseng just sighed softly, wiping some of the tears away with his thumb.

Tseng attempted a smile and looked down at her, nodding ever-so slightly. "Of course I'm really here. And I promise, I'm not going to leave you again." 'At least without saying anything first,' he added silently in his head, knowing all too well that continously promising such things, considering the nature of the mansion, may not be such a good idea.

“Elena. As much as we dislike this place, whatever gave you the idea that we would leave you behind on purpose?” Tseng sighed a little, and removed his arms from around her waist, all of a sudden feeling incredibly awkward – probably for the first time in his life.

Curse Celine and her habit of prying into other’s affairs.

“That sounds like a good idea,” he said quietly, nodding slightly. He would’ve chuckled at her obvious embarrassment and unease, if he wasn’t completely certain it would only serve to make her feel more awkward than they already were.
“No, thank you. MOMO took me to the kitchen just before I came over. I’m alright in that respect.”
