She didn't notice immediately, too absorbed in her own magic, but she gradually became aware of his presence. It was usually something she did by herself, but she didn't mind him seeing it. Especially since she couldn't feel any fear or distrust in his curiosity.

She closed her mouth, chasing some of the birds over to him. She wasn't an adept hunter, but she was able to herd a few of them over without losing them.

"Curiosity killed the cat," she announced, though she didn't seem put out. "Didn't you hear?"
