Who: Cy [
sparkplugs] and YOU. All of the yous.
Where: The library, dining room, and the grounds.
When: October 14th
Rating: Probably PG at most.
Summary: Cy wrecks stuff, eats, and makes magic birds. Action spam or prose is fine.
The Story:
The Library:
Cy began her morning in the library. She'd never taken much interest in books. At least not the words. What cat would? What she did like was the sound the paper made. It crinkled pleasantly under her feet, and the noise it made when she tore it with her teeth was delightful. Not to mention the fun that could be had playing with the scraps of paper her vandalism produced. It was also something she'd discovered tasted quite good though it was a struggle to swallow.
At various times she could be found enthusiastically destroying books, playing in a shower of paper she knocked around the room, or nesting in a pile of shredded paper in the corner. At other times she was nowhere to be found, though the evidence of her presence was scattered everywhere. She hid herself in amongst the shelves, waiting for someone to come and discover her perfect hiding place. Not that she was especially subtle. If she could stay still long enough the scrabbling of her claws wouldn't be heard, then a tail or paw peeking out gave her game away.
The Dining Room:
All her adventures in the library had managed to make her work up quite the appetite. Paper was nice and all , but it didn't do much to fill her. Hungry, Cy made a beeline for the dining room where she wished herself some nice fish. She ate this underneath the shelter of a table near the door, then waited for other unwary diners to come near enough she could pounce on their feet.
"My fish!"
The Gardens:
As the evening set in, Cy crept out into the gardens, stopping just in front of the fountain. At first she glanced around to see if anyone was looking, but finding herself alone she soon dropped her defences, no longer paying any mind to anyone around her.
She opened up her mouth, motes of light drifting out, standing out against the slowly darkening sky. It's not just light that pours out of her mouth, though. There are birds too. Tiny and unrecognisable in species, but bright and varied in colour. They flutter around Cy's head as she sits and even more emerge from her mouth.

But he hadn't gone far and his plans were interrupted in the best way. He quietly watched as Cy somehow created light from out of her mouth. It was kind of amazing, actually.
She probably could tell that he was standing around observing her. He hoped she didn't think he was being rude for spying or that he was intruding. He didn't mean it. He was just curious. Like a cat, perhaps.

She closed her mouth, chasing some of the birds over to him. She wasn't an adept hunter, but she was able to herd a few of them over without losing them.
"Curiosity killed the cat," she announced, though she didn't seem put out. "Didn't you hear?"

Alive here in Wonderland, at least. He mentally thought to qualify that. Minato smiled as he knelt down near her once those birds had fluttered over to him.
"How did you do that, if I can ask?" May as well do so since he hadn't ever seen anything like that before, and especially not from a cat. But Cy wasn't just any ordinary cat as he had quickly learned from before.

Cy honestly didn't understand how she did the things she did. She just did. She puzzled for a moment, wondering how she could describe it. "I don't know," she admitted, drooping slightly. "I just open my mouth and out things come."

Library
"Wasting books..." Maybe he wouldn't have cared a few years back, but when freedom of speech was being threatened and book burning was something smoking in the distance, one more seemed too much.

"Who's wasting?" she grumbled, looking over at the paper she'd been enjoying only moments previously. "I was going to eat it after."
library - also feel free to use any powers and mind-read away!
After he gathers a sizable pile of scraps to throw away, he sees a tiny, fuzzy paw peeking out on a high shelf. A kitten! How did one so small get up there?
"Kitty," he calls, and reaches up to try and lift her down, "you shouldn't be in the library! Look at this mess you made..."
no subject
"What mess?" she asks, sounding honestly oblivious. "I've been decorating."
no subject
"Goodness," he sighs, feeling the pounding heart calm down, "I'm sorry, I didn't expect to-- uh, be addressed like that."
no subject
"I can talk," she informs him warily, though he's probably already gathered that by now.

Has my foot somehow offended?

[She gives it a sharp nip just to be on the safe side though, then darts back under the table. When she returns she's dragging her half eaten fish dinner with her. She drops this at his feet.]
Are you hungry?
[She seems to have forgotten how possessive she was being only moments earlier.]

[ he makes an exaggerated wince. but then she's coming back, and... aww. Thor's lips turn up slightly. ]
I would not take food out of your mouth, little one. Please -- enjoy your feast.
[ but he does sit down on the floor, and hold out a hand, in case she would like pets with her meal ]

The Garden
He sees the motes of light as they extend up to the sky from where he's been wandering and hope leaps into his chest. Suddenly he's tearing through the grounds until he reaches the edge, just across the fountain from Cy. The hope pops like a soap bubble, but his disappointment doesn't manifest as anything more than a slight flicker before he just ends up watching her light show, mesmerized... and maybe a bit weirded out. The butterflies are a new thing for him.]

Don't you like it?
no subject
[He says it offhandedly, because he does like it. He liked it when Groot did it, though he'd never say anything like that out loud. Mostly he griped and bitched and moaned just to keep up appearances, but it's sort of hard to have any kind of appearances with a telepath.] I just... thought you were someone else there for a tick.
[He ventures a little closer to the edge of the fountain, climbing up onto the edge so he can shrug it off and occupy himself with something else... like washing some of the dirt and nature out of his fur. Yup.]

"Your fish. Got it." She crouches down, smiling as she offers a hand out for the cat to sniff. Zatanna's pretty good with animals, and let's be honest--no one can resist that much furry cuteness. "I'm Zatanna. Who are you?"
no subject
"I'm Cy," she tells her cheerfully. "I'm nice like mice."
She's grubbier than your average mouse, truth be told, but she's never been successful enough in hunting them to find that out.
no subject
"Well then it's nice like mice to meet you." Seriously, this is just too much cute for any one person to handle. But she's never met Cy before, so Zatanna keeps focused enough to at least see if the kitten knows where she is; a cat had been one of the first to show Zatanna around, so it feels right to return the favor. "Have you been around here long?"

She glanced around for the source, and seeing Cy, she knelt, holding a hand out.
"Cy, that's pretty."
no subject
"I'm pretty too."

"I thought cats chased birds?" Because those were definitely flying out of her mouth, right?
no subject
"I can do that too," she assured her, then looked around for a bird to chase. There were none by then, which seemed to perplex her. "I could before."
no subject
"You probably still can." When there's some around, anyway. "How do you make birds?" And talk. Are you a magic cat?
