Summary: Toothless is back from his canon update. And confused, very confused. Also, the side of the mansion might have a dragon imprint for a short while.
The Story:
It's a fairly sunny early afternoon. Inconspicuous, almost, aside from Storybrooke making way to Wonderland. Birds are singing, fish are happily living a dragon-free existence. But it isn't to last. A winged shadow swoops over the grounds of the mansion — sleek and graceful, at first, and then flailing as the shadow realizes he doesn't have a rider anymore. Toothless stares around at Wonderland as memories come back to him, willy-nilly, and even his new back fins aren't enough to stop the rapid approach of the mansion itself. There's just not enough time.
The Nightfury gives a very loud, almost long-suffering roar as he collides with the side of the mansion, scrambling with his legs — unsuccessfully — to find purchase. He slides down past, and over, several windows, still rumbling loudly as he ends up in a black, leathery heap at the side of the mansion.
For a long moment, the heap is still, and then slowly Toothless rights himself. He examines himself for a moment before licking a paw and raising it to his face, wiping off the dust that he collected from the side of the mansion itself. His side that hit the mansion is sore, but nothing serious has been done. Dragons have to be tough to do what they do.
And now that he's probably scared someone to death inside, he's back. Though his feelings are mixed, given the lack of Hiccup in the vicinity. It could be like the first time, he supposes — ending up on the wrong sides of the mansion. Toothless cleans himself up a bit more before he gets to his feet, making a noise in the back of his throat that distinctly sounds like grumbling.

Vikings and their phrases. He gives her a little nudge. What does she mean?

"Leveling up usually involves gaining new abilities, or new armor. Just an upgrade to your already existing awesome."
So she figures he's hit about level 70 and hitting his stride.
"I like this." Charlie pokes the hardness a little, eyes trailing down to where it attaches on his tail. "Seems like someone takes good care of you, huh?"

Well, when he's not... here.
That's a problem.
Toothless pauses for just a moment before he starts showing off again — he starts flicking the new fins on his back side to side, in quick little motions. Someone's been taking very good care of him, with the help of a dragon expert.

"Not bad, not bad. Bet your milkshake brings all the dragon ladies to the yard, huh?" As she says this, a thought occurs - does he have a special dragon lady friend?
"Do dragons have girlfriends? Or boyfriends." If he knows what that is...which is why she kinda hurries to explain. "A dragon you mate with forever, that kind of thing."

He trills softly and inclines his head, although the sound is a little blue. Toothless would need another Nightfury around for that to happen. A female Nightfury, which he hasn't seen in quite a long time. Not since his own mother. Valka thinks he might be the last of his kind, but luckily, the Nightfury can't wrap his head around the concept to get truly discouraged by it.

"No worries. One day you might find that special one." Despite not being aware that he is the last of his kind, giving up hope on such a thing is a bad idea. She didn't mean to make him feel down, even if it's just a little bit, so she's ready to make it up to him. "How about we find you some kind of tasty snack? Fish is your thing, right?"

He jumps fully to his feet, doing a very quick circle around Charlie and then stopping to look at her.
Food! Yes. Food is good!
sdkjfs that icon HE LOOKS SO HAPPY
And with that, she starts off in the direction of the ocean. Then comes to a complete stop.
"Wait, I don't have a net or anything to catch fish with." Looking over at him, there's a moment before she smacks her forehead with her palm. "Right. Dragon. Bet you could do it all yourself, right?"
:D :D :D
He trills softly, posture straightening as he puffs out his chest. Why, yes, he can get fish by himself!
Sometimes.
If he's feeling lucky.

"Would you be up for trying out new stuff to nom on sometime?" It's a random thought that occurs as they draw closer to the beach. "We can totally do some kind of taste test thing sometime. See if maybe you're down with some turkey or something."
no subject
He trills softly in response, tilting his head to the side. New things have been a mixed bag, but overall the Nightfury will eat just about anything.

At this point, they've reached the beach, Charlie shielding her eyes from the sunlight to look out over the water. "Here's hoping there's some lucky fish out there with your name on it."

He'll need to keep to the shallows, of course, as he can't swim in deeper water by himself; he needs his tailfin for that, and half of it is missing. If he had a rider, he could manage. But he doesn't, today. All that means, however, is that he resembles more of a dog than a shark as he splashes into the water and dips his head under the surface, looking for fish.

She takes this time to think back on the whole treat idea - maybe she could do a little library research. He likes fish, obviously, maybe she can get with Tohru about that sort of thing. In the long run, it's not that big of a deal, but he's gotta get bored around here sometimes and dragons can't exactly plop down in the library with a good book, can they?
Too bad they can't find a way for him to talk - that would probably make all their lives easier and probably more fun.
