One Tequila, Two Tequila
Who: Gabriel and you!
Where: In the bar
When: Nov 10
Rating: PG - possibly worse
Summary: Poor archangel coping mechanisms
The Story:
He's dead.
It shouldn't come as such a profound shock, really. Gabriel knew that standing with the Winchesters, trying to buy them enough time to get away was very likely going to get him killed. Hearing his worst fears confirmed by a random stranger? Welp. That was something different.
So after a few chats with some of the new people and a rather unexpected visit from his big brother-slash-killer, Gabriel decided there was only one way to really deal with what had happened to him in the last few hours. He was going to get drunk, or at least make a heroic effort to try.
Sure there was a beach he could drink on, but Gabriel needed a proper bar with enough of a liquor supply to help him at least get a minor buzz on. So off to the fifth floor he went, only getting momentarily distracted by a room full of baby boars before finding the bar and bellying up.
Everything else can wait. Right now he's going to drink and do his level damned (ha) best not to think about Lucifer.

He can't help but turn towards the stranger, senses tingling with something familiar up and down his spine. It's like those other angels, Lucifer and the Michael from that alternate earth. He may not have the same sort of angel sense that they did but he knew grace when he felt it. Sitting across the room he may not have picked up on anything, but sitting a few stools downwind of another angel was a different story.
It was an interesting sight. No other angel frequented the bar besides himself, as far as he knew anyway. Least he hadn't crossed paths with the others yet and he was quite the regular. It made him wonder what horrible thing could've brought the other to this state. Though he was both thoroughly impressed and somewhat saddened by his tolerance. He'd be frustrated if he had to drink a whole liquor store just to feel something. He felt fortunate that he had only a slightly above-human-average tolerance and could get drunk easily enough.
"I shudder to think what could have pressed you into utterly marinating yourself till you drown." He finally speaks up, curiosity getting the better of him.
"Are you alright?" And there's that gentle, genuine looking sympathy or concern slipping into his expression. It's debatable if he really cares. Being that this creature was angelic, there was a good chance that some of his worry was honest.

Easier to follow a mundane little ritual than think about his situation or his family. Sure, he’ll have to figure out what to do sooner or later, but tonight procrastination is the name of the game. Or at least until he gets bored and decides to give the ol’ wings a stretch because so far? Getting drunk just isn’t happening.
Stupid weak booze.
Gabriel’s head tilted towards the stranger, peering at him curiously for a long moment. There’s the oddest sense of déjà vu as he looks him over. Angel from another world? Maybe. Gabriel can sense something familiar about him, something that’s making his grace resonate in response. What’s even stranger is the emotion in his voice. Angels back home were normally the toe the line marble statue types, not exactly the sort to ask after another and sure as hell not the type to drink. Maybe the day wouldn’t be a complete wash after all.
He saluted the stranger with a shot before tossing it back and propping his elbow on the bar. “One of the things that drives most people to drink. Family.”

"Feels like more and more of us are appearing out of the woodwork, be it my world or another." He'll then look up to the other angel.
"Almost like clockwork, with every so many handfuls of arrivals. I'm curious to see who will be next."
He studies the other a moment before shifting off his stool to move closer, casual, calm, the farthest from a threat he could be.
"But where are my manners?" He offers the other his hand with a smile.
"I'm Gabriel."

He’s another angel, but more importantly he’s an interesting distraction from his cycle of thoughts. So Gabriel pushes the bottle back as he approaches, giving him a once-over himself. Leather. Tall, dark and all smolder. Gotta hand it to the angels in that world – they had style. Plenty more than most of his kin that simply looked.. uncomfortable in their vessels. Like they couldn’t quite figure out how they worked.
Thanks to Gadreel, the name doesn’t come as quite so much of a shock and Gabriel quirks a grin at him, “Funny, I was about to say the same thing. Because so am I.”
Huh. So this is his twin. At least he’s interesting.

Not that the man needs more liquor but hey, this was a fairly special moment. The two of them finally meeting. If he knew, he'd be glad Gadreel spoke to Gabe first before Castiel could warn him of his agenda back home. Not that it currently held any weight for Wonderland of course, but some just couldn't let his choices in HIS world go. So it goes.
"Well then," He raises his glass. "here's to you, my handsome alternate. And I'm not talking about the human you're wearing."
Not that he could see his angelic form without Gabriel honestly presenting or stretching his wings but he wasn't above flattery when trying to make friends. He honestly thought his vessel looked a bit goofy, but he wasn't about to admit that out loud. Then again, he was kind of vain, he felt he was the more attractive of the two. He also has no idea that that particular breed of Archangel can get into his head and read his thoughts.

He won't give a happy damn about his agenda back home. Sure it's over the top and extreme, but they're not home so it doesn't much matter to him.
A quiet snort into the glass and Gabriel's grace reaches out to brush over his twin's. "FYI - I can hear it when you're snowing me, other self." Not that he's particularly offended. "And I'd show off a little, but raw grace tends to break glass and I'm more interested in what's in those glasses right now than going all flashy."
no subject
"Sorry about that, I shall endeavor not to so easily project." He clears his throat, "Is that something only you can do?"
After all, so far he was the only Archangel able to get into the minds of others and possess them. Mostly because his siblings find it disgusting and would never attempt it.
no subject
"Only me? Nope. But a little protip between us? Keep things close to the proverbial vest if you run into one of my older brothers. Michael, Lucifer or whoever in the holy hell else might be around here."
no subject
"Afraid it might be a bit too late for that but I'll certainly do my best to be more careful from now on." Though now he's wondering what they might already know. He'll also be sure to let his brother and the others know to guard themselves.
"What other sorts of things are you capable of? And if you feel the need to show off we can take this too the roof. I've got a sizeable stash in my room on the 10th floor."
no subject
Gabriel snorts into another shot. "This turning into a game of 'you show me yours, I'll show you mine'?"
Which isn't technically a no.
no subject
"Sure, I'm not opposed to showing off a bit." Though, their brand of Archangel wasn't as flashy or strong. He may feel more the under-dog in this contest.
"The roof suitable or should we find somewhere away from the Mansion proper?" He'll bring a few bottles of something with if they do leave.
no subject
"Not like I can completely drop trou around here. Last thing I want is for this poor schmuck to wake up and wander off all confused where I can't find his ass. But yeah, let's snag a few bottles and take the party upstairs."
He needs a good distraction and this alternate version of himself? Promises to be just that sort of distraction.
no subject
"Not on the first date." Which is utter bullshit and that terrible smirk says he's not even trying to hide it. The look shot to the other Archangel reflects of spark of curiosity and excitement. Finally he'll get to see more of this other breed.
Of course, his twin may think he's taking his sweet time seeing as he can't just teleport to the top floor. He WILL go out the nearest window though just to spare himself several flights of stairs. He makes a pit stop at his room, which has a wide balcony and double doors for him to enter and exit through. He picks up two bottles, one scotch, one vodka, and takes them to the roof. He doesn't bother putting his wings away, that's part of his show-and-tell for the evening.
no subject
He's probably taking his time, maybe checking in with his brothers or at least fetching the decent stuff. Gabriel was perched on the edge of the roof, six wings still shifting absently in the wind behind him. He can't fully leave his vessel, and there are a few key details he's not exactly going to share with his twin - banishing sigils, archangel blades - but there was nothing wrong with a little share and share alike.
no subject
"Well, color me jealous." He sets his alcoholic offering nearby, tilting his head as he studies the other some more. Don't mind him, reaching out and feeling along his grace with mental fingers.
no subject
He extends a wing as he senses his other self tracing along one. It's been a long time since he'd allowed contact that intimate. "Dad kinda had a flair for the dramatic back home. And hey, black is always in fashion. Sleek and classy."
no subject
After all, there weren't many he'd just simply let reach out and touch him like that. Though he's tempted to extend the offer to his name-twin. He clears his throat.
"I suppose you're right, nothing wrong with a classic, hm?" Even though typically angels are displayed with white wings. Compared to Gabriel's and playing along with the fashion statement, he could be considered a classic style.
"What other sort of flashy things can you do without heads exploding?" Though heads exploding would be entertaining.
