Who: Muppet!Henry and YOU

Summary: Henry the muppet decides maybe he can get away with leaving his room. It's not like anyone will recognize him.
The Story:

It's the hands that really start tripping Henry up. He can't do anything well with felt fingers, and he's so small that he can't even really practice sword fighting or do any of the things he actually likes. He can read though, so after the first day, after Regina is back and he just spends some time with her trying to adjust to how he looks and feels, all that Henry does on the second day is read. But now he's bored, and figures that it's not like he's the only one affected by this. Sure, he touched The Thing and he probably shouldn't have, but he couldn't help it. And neither could a lot of people, apparently.

So, he goes out. Walking is kind of an adventure, bobbing up and down with every step because his knees have more give in this form. He's a lot shorter too, and he looks up at things from this new perspective. Glancing himself in a reflection makes him wonder if his mirror is a muppet too, or ever has been, or is mostly just laughing, making fun of him behind the glass.

Heaving quite the sigh, Henry finally stops to just sit, observing other people in different forms and wondering how much longer this all has to last. He's not exactly sad, and he's glad this isn't coming with any death or anything, but it'd be nice if he could just be regular again. He suddenly feels like he and Pinocchio could have a good conversation about this back home.

Oh look. Another puppet.

Zelena has absolutely no idea who this one is, and you know what? She doesn't care. She's tired of this. She's tired of being a pig...thing in this ridiculous outfit. And she's just tired of life in general. Thanks Wonderland. While she was gone, you know what she didn't miss? This. Because it wasn't a thought that occurred to her ever, but still, she didn't miss it!

“Out of my way, whoever you are.”

She's just going to try and brush past wherever Henry is because wow, okay, puppet or not, get out of her way. She's got things to do. Not puppet things, but people things, she's going to attempt to deal with while a puppet. This going on or not, she refuses to give in to Muppet shenanigans of any sort.

Irritation manifests itself quickly and easily in his pint sized form, and a scowl passes over Henry's felt face.

"You don't have to be - "

And then he realizes he recognizes that voice and does a double take. He's never been so glad since he got to this place, that something this ridiculous could happen to someone as uptight as Zelena.

"You're a pig. You got turned into a pig!"

Yes, she's a pig okay? She's a pig and you're a...whatever you are, Henry. Oz didn't have the Muppets so she's just seeing this weird sort of puppet thing and this is what happens when someone grows up in a land with flying monkeys and stuff but not the works of Jim Henson.

“And you're a whatever you are,” she says. Yeah, she didn't think of anything better.

“No matter. Moi will be back to her usual wicked self as soon as this is over.”

...and it can't end soon enough because wow, since when does she refer to herself as moi?

Even with the heavy Miss Piggy undercurrent here, Henry still can't help but snicker because it's Zelena.

"I'm a muppet, same as you. Only I still get to be a human. Kind of. I wonder what it means that you got turned into a pig who's really obsessed with herself?"

Casually, Henry reaches into his pocket and kind of awkwardly takes out his phone. He wants pictures of this forever, though felt has a hard time working a touch screen to get the camera ready.

“A muppet?”

She has no idea what that is Henry. No idea at all.

“Never mind. Don't care what that is, don't care why this is happening. I just want it to...”

Wait, hold up, favorite ~~only~~ nephew.

“What is that? What do you think you're doing?”

She's seen phones before of course. It would've been impressive if she hadn't given how much time she spent spying on her sister. And the fact that she'd manage to give Hook crap about not being able to use Wonderland's devices properly. But still, she's not exactly making any sort of connection with what Henry's doing.

Finally Henry gets the camera up and all it takes from there, is a tap of a button. So, he laughs and calls out. "Smile!"

He takes the photo and smirks, then tucks his phone away again.

"I just wanted to remember this forever, that's all. I think it's important to keep a record of the things that happen here in Wonderland."

...oh no. Henry. Henry, you didn't. Henry, no.

“What. No. Give that back.”

She's just sort of grabbing at the...never mind it's in his pocket. Damn it. Or darn it, maybe since she's a Muppet now and everything is kid friendly at the moment.

“I refuse to let there be anything like that around now. Hand it over!”

Or else she'll...she'll...

Can she even do magic as a Muppet? Would it be Muppet magic? Does she even want to find out at this point.

Henry's little muppet head tilts to the side.

"You know...no one ever has to see it," he sing songs. Since when did he sing song?

Oh well.

"I'm not giving it to you, but no one has to ever see the picture again."

“Not good enough.”

Henry, why are you singing? That event's already happened. And it better not be happening again because she is not performing another Wicked number with Regina ever again.

“Hand it over or else...”

What she wanted to do was a threatening fireball, but instead there's just sort of awkward Muppet arm movement. Or maybe that was a karate chop. Who knows?

Either way, there was absolutely no fire.

...which is probably for the best since she's made of felt right now.

Maybe she'll be super mad when they're all human again, and it's not like the picture is totally damning, a lot of them got turned into something. It's just funny now to see her this upset.

"What if I accidentally sent it to everyone?"

“I'll do more than that. As well you should know.”

No specifics though. She doesn't need him running to his mother, or mothers, claiming she threatened to turn him into a monkey or something. Still, she figures he knows she's not someone who should be crossed.

“And doing that would be a mistake.”

Seriously, Henry. Don't you even dare. She will cast a separate curse just to remove that picture from history.

"If I delete it, what do I get? If I'm nice to you, and make sure no one ever sees this, then what?"

He's kind of...

Well, he is the grandson of the Dark One. And he's totally making a deal except there's nothing he really would want more than Zelena just leaving his family alone. And since he knows - for sure - that won't happen here, he wonders what else she can come up with.

He's not usually this bold, but something about being stuffed with felt and her not having magic is making him a bit daring.

Henry, is this really the road you want to go down? Making deals with wicked puppet pigs? Because that is probably a dangerous…and at the moment felt covered road.

“What do you get? Hmm. Let me see.”

She’s thinking. Which is obvious given how visible Muppet expressions are. Except she’s just pretending to think it over because really, Henry, what part of this sounded like it was going to work?

“You get to continue existing. For now. Now hand it over.”

Does she have to karate chop air again? Because she reluctantly will if she has to.

"I'm not giving you my entire device," he says, shaking his head. "What if I just send you the picture from my device to yours. That way you have it."

Does she know how these things work? He'll find out. But really, he knows better than to put his family in danger over a picture, so he can let her think she has the only copy, and delete his later.

(Maybe.)

She's thinking about it. And you know what, Henry? She doesn't know enough about phones or any of that to know how it works, so sure. That's fine. Once she has it, she can delete it, and then then that's that.

“Fine. Send me the photo. Then never speak of this again.”

And then it'll be like this never happened up until she reverses time and it actually never happened. Or at least that's what she thinks will happen. And that applies to both of those

Henry pulls his device back out and after a few minute of finagling again, he managed to send the photo to her. "There. Now you can do whatever you want with it."

A part of him hopes that she accidentally sends it to everyone. It could happen, and then it wouldn't be his fault.

"Bye, Aunt Zelena." He smirked as well as he could, well, for a muppet.

“Goodbye, Henry.”

And with that, she'll be on her way. Oh wait, she's still Zelena, so of course there's going to be some sort of snide remark to accompany that exit.

“Nice to see that at least one person in your family has the sense to not stand in my way.”

Or at least that's what she's going to walk off thinking happened here.

Captain Hook doesn't recognize Henry. Probably because, well, he expects Henry to look like a boy, not a muppet. Unfortunately, he's had this knee jerk reaction whenever he sees children ever since his own... transformation. Lost Boys, he never liked, not as himself and not now, but Lost Boys hardly count as children, not after what Pan does to them.

It's just Henry's misfortune that he's there when the ticking (ha ha) timebomb in Hook's head is a little too close to going off.

"Not lost, are you, boy?"

The puppet part doesn't even phase him that much. He's a freaking cartoon, puppets are MORE normal.

It takes Henry a moment, a moment of just staring up at this cartoon he grew up knowing, and then his little muppet mouth drops open.

"Hook? You're...the thing turned you into...an actual movie version of...you."

He blinks, then blinks again, the laughter very, very quiet and he tries to push it back. And mostly he's just really glad that he's not the only one that touched the egg thing.

"You couldn't help it either. You had to touch it, didn't you?"

"I...I..." Hook blinks, rubbing a hand over his face. "Hnery? I'm sorry, lad, I'm not feeling precisely myself as of late..."

It's an understatement. He takes a step back. "You oughtn't hang around here. All sorts of unsavory people about." Unsavory people like himself.

"I don't think very many of us are feeling ourselves. I'm glum. Which means someone is sad."

Wait, why is he giving definitions of words? ~~Sesame Street will do that for you.~~

"I'm not so worried about the people. Zelena is a talking pig."

Hook gives him a strange look when he defines the word, but he's more interested in insulting Zelena than being offended at the over-explaining. That may change. "I fail to see how that's different from her usual condition."

Henry laughs, and it sounds very felt-y and delighted.

"I took a picture, but she'll probably hurt everyone if I ever show it. I should probably delete it when i have real hands again and it's easy."

"You must at least show me," he smiles, and it's devious and charming all at once. "Come now, dear boy. Surely you can show your old friend Hook?"

Well, what was the point of having the picture if he couldn't show someone? So, he gets out the phone to show Hook, pulling up the picture.

"I'm really glad I have this picture," he laughs, though he's quiet about it just in case she's lurking.

"This is one of the stranger events I've witnessed so far." Which is saying a lot, considering what Wonderland likes to put them through.

"It's kind of surprising I've never been turned into anything before," Henry agrees. "I mean, with flying monkeys and all the weird stuff just from home. I guess a muppet's not the worst thing."

"A... muppet?" Hook looks a little flummoxed. "What, precisely, is a muppet?"

"...What I am. Orange and felt and floppy? Like...puppet with an 'm.'"

They're gonna have to watch some Sesame Street when this is all over, just to get him in the loop.

"Ah." He still doesn't entirely get it, but that's not really... unusual. "Am I too a muppet?"

"No, you're what's called a cartoon. So...you know the t.v. right? When something's a cartoon, that means someone drew you by hand first on paper a whole bunch of times, then colored you..."

Yeah, this is complicated. "I'll show you when we're normal again. We can watch an animated movie together."

Oh, he's definitely going to show him Disney's version of Peter Pan. If nothing else, he can gape at how Pan is the hero when they all know the truth.
