The fact that he's unable to do much about protecting his daughter from here has been a point of contention since his arrival. A part of him refuses to believe it, calling back to countless years he's been able to do the impossible. What's one more thing?

Finn's got plenty of cause to be upset with him, not that Klaus really cares all that much. He's never been fond of his eldest brother. He'd been a treacherous child, and turned into such a bore he just left him in a coffin for nine centuries. "Honestly, I'm surprised he's been able to pull off pretending to be someone else. I've never credited Finn with an overabundance of creativity."
