Who: Harry Potter and Seta Souji
Where: The Diner
When: During the event
Rating: PG...???
Summary: Harry and Souji are empathy linked and run into each other.
The Story:
[ As far as events go, this isn't all that bad. In fact, the last month has been pretty great as far as Harry's concerned. His parents are here, they're getting married, and his room is showing him one of the best moments of his life. It really couldn't get much better than that.
It's a little weird, occasionally emotions he isn't feeling creep up on him out of nowhere, but he doesn't think much of it. It's not like they're overpowering or all consuming or anything like that. So, his mood remains positive as he heads down to the diner for something to eat. He could just get something from the cupboards in the kitchen, but...the diner seems like the better option right now. Besides, he's never actually eaten there before, so it'll be fun.
Harry hops up on one of the stools and has a look around. ]
It's nice. I should have come here sooner.

Things started to look a bit sunnier when he finally dragged himself out of his room and went to the diner to get his mind off of things with work. Although there's still a bit of a storm cloud figuratively following him around, happier feelings keep creeping. It's a bit strange--real happiness isn't an emotion he feels at the best of times--and while he's bemused by it, he's not upset about it. It's actually helping a bit.
Although he hasn't actually spoken to this iteration of Harry, he knew he was in Wonderland (hanging out with James as much as he does, there's no way Souji wouldn't know), and he recognizes him right away.
...He's a lot smaller this time than he was last.]
Harry.
[He gestures him over from where he's standing behind the counter.]
What can I get for you?
no subject
You know me?
[ Might as well just ask instead of speculate. Oh! But he's taking his order, might as well get something. ]
Oh, er--I'll have a hot chocolate?
no subject
James is a friend of mine.
[One of the closest he has in Wonderland. Souji shakes off another stab of sadness at the idea that leaving Wonderland probably means he'll never see James again, or even remember him, in all likelihood.]
He says he'll be your dad one day.

[ The twinge of sadness surprises him. Harry hadn't really been sad at all before, and looks a little uncertain for a second. When he speaks next, its slowly and with his brows knitted, confused for a reason he can't really place. ]
Yeah, I'm glad I'm able to get to know him, here.
[ And really, he is. It's sad to remember his life with the Dursley's, but he's nothing if not extremely grateful to have a chance at getting to know his parents while in Wonderland. ]

Me too.
[Souji stirs the hot chocolate and then finds some whipped cream to top it with.]
He's pretty set on making sure things are different when he goes back, so you'll be able to know him there, too.
[Of course, that would make the current Harry a sort of paradox... Souji wonders if James has considered that.]
no subject
[ Eternal Paradox Harry Potter. ]
I hope he succeeds, I'd like to have gotten to know him before all this.
[ And not have to deal with the Dursley's ever. What a dream life.
But...as much as he wants his dad to manage it, though, he can't help but feel a twinge of doubt. It seems like such a hugely, impossible task. Especially against a place that can basically do whatever it wants. ]

[Souji has his own reasons for needing to remember certain things when he gets home. He's had his doubts as well, so Harry's definitely ring true for him, but he's still determined to make it work.]
James doesn't exactly back down easily and Lily will make sure there aren't gigantic flaws in his plans.
[Everyone knows who the brains of that particular operation is.]
I think it's something to be optimistic about.

[ the words seem to give Harry's confidence in the plan a little boost. Yeah, his parents will be able to pull it off. They're a good team. ]
I wonder if there's anything I could do to help. I'm not all that experienced with magic, but if they're both working so hard--[ well, he'd rather not sit on his hands and do absolutely nothing ]
no subject
I bet Lily could teach you some things.
no subject
[ Even if she's kind of opposed to him getting into trouble. He falls silent for a little while, and takes a sip of his hot chocolate. ]
...How long have you known my mum and dad?
no subject
I haven't known Lily that long--a few months. But I've known James a long time. He was here before I got here, but we didn't really meet until there was an event where we were all at Hogwarts. We were both captains of our quidditch teams.
[Thinking back on that is helping his mood a bit, because that event was pretty sweet...except for a few parts.]
...We kind of got off to a bad start, actually.
no subject
Oh! That must have been fun, being in Hogwarts. [ At least he assumes, because he loves Hogwarts a whole heck of a lot. It makes him a little sad to think about, because wow does he miss that place.
BUT anyway, story about Quidditch!? Yeah, he can get behind this. Especially when it doubles as a story about his dad. ]
What happened?
no subject
Nothing with quidditch. That was just pretty fun even if we were rivals. But apparently I was in a house that he thinks is evil? I mean, like inherently evil.
[Harry can probably guess which one.]
He still doesn't really believe me that that isn't the case.
no subject
[ Harry feels kind of bad, because all of his interactions with the Slytherin house have been pretty terrible, what with Snape and Malfoy. So he's kind of...always assumed the same. Not that they were all pure evil, necessarily, but you know. ]
All the Slytherin's I've met back home have been pretty terrible, but--well, you don't seem all that bad, so I suppose not everyone is like Malfoy and his goons.
no subject
Thanks. Though I guess I didn't give him any real reason to like me at the time. I used--some curse I can't remember the name of anymore on someone. Even after the event, it took me awhile to convince James I didn't normally do that kind of thing.
no subject
[ He's more surprised than anything, honestly. Souji doesn't really seem the cursing type? He's pretty mellow. ]
Why? [ Because really, he's incredibly curious. ]
no subject
[He's quiet for a minute, looking at the counter top, trying to remember.]
...I think someone caught me looking at some book I wasn't supposed to be, and it startled me, so I cursed her.
no subject
At least you weren't trying to be malicious.
no subject
[Not that he normally has the ability to do so, even if he wanted to.]
