Where: The temporarily-relocated bar, now in a 1st floor tea room until the fifth floor becomes inhabitable again.

Summary: With the fifth floor being overrun by Silent Hill shenanigans and weird unfortunate afflictions, the bar staff has temporarily relocated to the first floor until they can return upstairs. Unfortunately, they're still cursed by the unfortunate truth-telling side effects. Drink and Tell at your own risk.

The Story:
The bar has weathered a lot of events in Wonderland, and will no doubt weather a lot more, but between the recent string of murders (Thanks, Dean Winchester) and the current vivid atmosphere on the fifth floor, everyone had agreed that finding somewhere a little less terrifying to get drunk was a requirement until things got sorted and back to normal.

Of course, moving locales doesn't seem to free them from the new geas of truth-telling that's seemed to invade anywhere in the mansion that nourishment is offered. That's not enough for them to close their doors, though. In fact, Simon's all for this, because he thinks it could provide some pretty amusing interesting revelations. And as he is the one most visible in the bar for the next few days, he could use some of that. Jo's still recovering from her attack and he might still be over-protectively fussing just a little.

He's his typical welcoming self to anyone who wanders in for some alcohol, however, always ready with a drink and likely some inappropriate humor. Delve into deep truths at your own risk, however.

"Of course, why is that surprising? You left so quickly on Saturday and I haven't seen you around, is everything ok?" Billy was worried there was something wrong, something wrong with them but he wasn't going to say that. He didn't want to be that person. He was also worried about Sam, he seemed jumpy and not himself on Saturday and leaving his birthday early...Billy found that strange.

"Oh, these are pretty good. Are you practicing?"

"I just..." He gives Billy a helpless look. He's used to being the person looking out for people, not the one who people look out for. He guesses he had rushed off on Saturday and he feels bad about that. It had been Billy's birthday after all.

"Yeah!" Talking about the sigils is an easier topic. "Jo showed me how to draw them so I'm trying to get them perfect. They're devil's traps."

"You just?" Billy asked raising an eyebrow at Sam. None of this made sense to him. "Did you-" he asked the next part quietly not sure he even wants to ask it but feeling like he has to. "Did you not want to be there?"

"Why are you drawing devil's traps."

[voiceinthedark]

"No!" Sam blurts out. "Of course I wanted to be there but it's too dangerous."

...he really hadn't meant to say that much, and his eyes go wide at the admission.

"Because there's a demon who wants to kill me and Jo and Simon." He winced when it came out of his mouth, and then sat back, looking thoroughly defeated.

Billy blinks. That was the absolute last thing he was expecting to hear. "Wait, what?"

Sam sighed heavily, slumping forward to rest his arms against the table and his head against them, looking up at Billy mournfully. "Dean Winchester came back as a demon. He's got it in for Jo, and he's got it in for Simon, which means I'm a good target to get at them. So he's got it in for me too, especially since I kneed him in the groin when he caught up with me."

Billy sighed, this was...not good. "And you didn't think to tell me this?"

[voiceinthedark]

Sam squirmed in his seat, looking anywhere but at Billy's face. "I didn't want to put you in danger. He'll go after people we care about just to hurt us so..."

"But I'm already in danger. You think what, he wouldn't go after me because suddenly you aren't around me? Anyone who knows us knows that we're a thing. Not telling me is putting me in more danger. It's putting Teddy in more danger." Teddy, he needed to warn Teddy.

He took a breath, getting mad at Sam wasn't going to help matters. "Don't you think I could protect you?"

He flinched at that, looking utterly miserable at the prospect of putting them in danger. He didn't know if Dean knew anything about what was going on, but surely if he distanced himself then there was less chance of them getting hurt. "I don't- I'm sorry," he said, looking away guiltily. "I'm not used to having backup. I mean, I am the backup. I get people out of place so they're safe. And I know that at home, when Five attacked me, it was because I was important to them. I don't want that to be you."

Billy reached forward and grabbed Sam's hand trying to get Sam to look at him again. "Sam, I can help though, I'm an Avenger." Mostly, totally, Captain America initiated them once and he totally has the passcode to the mansion, that has to count.

"I mean, really no one is safe here. We have to keep each other safe, and I can't keep you safe if I don't know what's going on. Even the backup needs backup sometimes. That's what I'm here for."

Sam looked up at him sharply, and squeezed his hand. "You died Billy. You died and Teddy was broken by it and..." He didn't want to see that again. And Dean would do it if he knew. He'd do it because he thought it was funny and because it would hurt Sam.

"Don't get involved. Please."

"Just Teddy?" Billy asked before he could stop himself. He really shouldn't be having serious conversations in places where he could only say the truth.

[voiceinthedark]

Sam's eyes widen at that, and he gives Billy a hurt look. "Of course not! It hurt so much. Is that what you really think of me?"

But he couldn't afford to fall apart. Not again. He'd broken after his parents had died, and he'd broken after Alice had died. Five had broken him. And if he kept breaking he didn't think there'd be much to put back together.

"No!" Billy says squeezing Sam's hand again. "That's not what I meant. Of course I don't think of you like that."

[voiceinthedark]

He had to believe him. He couldn't do anything else could he? he ducks his head in a little nod. "You and Teddy should stay far away from this. Please. Make sure Maxine is safe. I don't think he knows about her."

"I won't engage him, but if he goes after you, Sam I'm not just going to stand by. I'm not promising you that. I can't. I care about you Sam, more than care about you and I don't want to see you hurt, especially not if I can do something." The look he gave him was pleading. Sam had to understand, he couldn't let someone else he loved get hurt. He didn't know if he could survive that again.

Part of Sam can't help but feel warm at that. It's nice to feel like someone wants to protect you, that you're worth someone risking themselves for, not just in a general, but him specifically. Sam sighed and closed his eyes. "Alright. I can't stop you anyway. But please don't get hurt. I'm so sick of seeing everyone I care about get hurt."

BIlly reached out with his other hand cupping Sam's jaw, leaning forward he kissed him softly. "I promise I will do everything I possibly can to make sure I don't get hurt." And that Sam didn't get hurt, or Simon, or Jo or anything else he cared about.

Sam let out a soft sigh and leaned gratefully into the kiss, accepting the offered comfort. He gave a small nod, accepting it as the best that he could hope for. "Okay. Okay that... I will too."

He could promise at least that much.

"And you'll tell me when you're in trouble, right?" Billy asked leaning for forehead against Sam's. "Because I can help. Magic and all that."

[voiceinthedark]

It wasn't something that he liked to admit to, being in trouble. Stuff like that he kept to himself. But he nodded. "Yeah. I'll tell you. I mean, I don't always notice it myself but, yeah." He'd try his best anyway.

"That's all I ask." Billy said leaning forward and kissing him again. "So are you just spending all of your time here? Or can I persuade you to take a break for a little while?"

[voiceinthedark]

Sam smiled and leaned into the kiss, savouring it this time. "It's safer here than wandering around. But I think I can make a little time for you," he added, pecking Billy on the cheek for good measure.

Billy smiled. "We could just relocate to a dark corner. I doubt Simon would mind." He glanced over at their friend who was occupied at the other end of the bar.
