Open Bar Post for the duration of the event

Who: Anyone!
Where: The temporarily-relocated bar, now in a 1st floor tea room until the fifth floor becomes inhabitable again.
When: The duration of the event
Rating: ???
Summary: With the fifth floor being overrun by Silent Hill shenanigans and weird unfortunate afflictions, the bar staff has temporarily relocated to the first floor until they can return upstairs. Unfortunately, they're still cursed by the unfortunate truth-telling side effects. Drink and Tell at your own risk.

The Story:
The bar has weathered a lot of events in Wonderland, and will no doubt weather a lot more, but between the recent string of murders (Thanks, Dean Winchester) and the current vivid atmosphere on the fifth floor, everyone had agreed that finding somewhere a little less terrifying to get drunk was a requirement until things got sorted and back to normal.

Of course, moving locales doesn't seem to free them from the new geas of truth-telling that's seemed to invade anywhere in the mansion that nourishment is offered. That's not enough for them to close their doors, though. In fact, Simon's all for this, because he thinks it could provide some pretty amusing interesting revelations. And as he is the one most visible in the bar for the next few days, he could use some of that. Jo's still recovering from her attack and he might still be over-protectively fussing just a little.

He's his typical welcoming self to anyone who wanders in for some alcohol, however, always ready with a drink and likely some inappropriate humor. Delve into deep truths at your own risk, however.

"I can understand that. Being stuck inside is pretty sucky." He knows that from experience. Sixteen hours a day in a tin shack will get to you eventually. "And well, no-one has tried to kill us yet. I'm taking that as a good sign."

Or maybe there were just too many people around at the bar even for a demon to want to take on. He didn't know much about demons honestly.

Sam shrugged, looking a little guilty. "I'm not really the one he's got a grudge against. Much." It was Jo he was really worried about.

"You're not, no, but if he's pissed at me, he might hurt my friends." She's not vain enough to think that any of this is really about her, but she and Dean were close. He'd already gone after Sam, and she was just as stubborn as he was about finding a way to cure Dean, to put things to rights. She figures that puts her on his enemies list, and while he might come straight for her, it's entirely possible that he'll try to come at her through other people, too-- which was precisely why she thought a few rushed hunting lessons and devil's trap demonstrations had been necessary.

"I'm working with Sam and Cas to find a way to fix this. Dean probably won't love that, and there's-- there are other reasons he might be pissed." Residual anger or resentment, maybe, that had resurfaced now that he was without his humanity, but she doesn't want to think about that any more than she has to.

Sam bit his lip, looking thoroughly awkward. "He caught me after D&D," he admits, because Jo deserves to know what had happened. She should have all of the details. It might keep her alive. "I might have kicked him in the balls. But he was threatening Simon too. To get at you." It was more terrifying now that the adrenaline had worn off and he couldn't act like it was a mission to get himself through.

He grimaces at the mention of Castiel, not quick enough to suppress it. He knows it isn't the Angel's fault, but he's not someone Sam feels comfortable hanging around. "I don't think he loves anything right now. Hopefully they'll be able to help though."

"Aggravating him was really dangerous, Sam." She has to tell him that, it's required, but at the same time, it doesn't sound like she disapproves. In fact, she kind of wishes she'd done the exact same thing-- especially since the stab in the neck hadn't really taken. A swift knee to the crotch might have been more satisfying, though probably equally ineffective.

"He'll remember that." She presses her lips together, having been worrying at the lower with her teeth. "And-- yeah. That's exactly what I was afraid of. Him threatening Simon, or other friends. He's not afraid to play dirty." And Jo was not only close to Dean on his better days, but she was a dedicated part of Team Demon Cure. That had the potential to draw his ire in a big way.

"If we can get what we need, we can stop him. It won't be easy, but we have to do it."

"I know that," Sam groans, giving her a helpless look. "But what was I supposed to do? It was pretty clear he wasn't going to just let me walk away from that encounter." Better to do something than nothing, right? Than to just let things happen. Besides, it had been extremely satisfying after Dean had started threatening him. "I'm pretty sure I was already gonna be somewhere on his hit list. And he... yeah he threatened all of us."

He looked up at her tiredly. "What do you need? Can I help?"

"I know, I'm not--" She cuts herself off, heaving a sigh. He's right, what else could he have done? It was the same reason she'd attacked Dean, because running away hadn't been an option, because he'd been stronger and faster than she was and she'd had to do something. "You did what you could. I just don't want him to bump you up any higher on the list than you already are. Hopefully we can stop him before he gets to anyone else."

Except that's so much easier said than done. She grimaces, folding her arms and resting her weight against the table.

"First off, we need a priest. We won't get very far without a bonafide Man of God, apparently."

"I got away. Not even hurt besides a couple of bruises where he grabbed me." And that had been terrifying enough honestly. "I just want to keep my people safe. Everyone safe." But his people most of all. "And it's not the first time I've been on someone's hit list. I'll keep my head down and stay protected." He means it sincerely, but it doesn't mean he'll overlook his friends getting hurt.

His face falls when she mentions the first thing they need. "Won't like... angels work? I'm pretty sure they outrank priests, what with being genuine heavenly creatures?"

"That's what I said, but Cas told me it's a no-go."

Really, you'd think an angel would outrank a priest every time, but rituals were often painfully particular. You had to follow them to the letter or else it wouldn't work, simple as that.

"He said an angel's not enough. Probably because angels are supposedly made to serve God, but people have to choose it? Although they've got plenty of free will these days, but-- it might have something to do with it. I'm no theologist, but I trust Castiel. He wants this fixed as much as any of us do, and he'll do whatever it takes to make it happen. I don't think he'd hold out on me."

Sam manages to hold back a wince at the mention of Castiel. It's hard to think of the person who'd killed him, even though he knows that it had been an accident. It wasn't his fault.

"Well, that's stupid," he said, rolling his eyes. "You'd think they'd be able to do something, or what's the point?" Massive Celestial power to burn out someone's eyes and kill them, but apparently unable to do the same job as a priest. Which... Sam\s not entirely sure what a priest's job involves honestly. Trips to church with primary school had made it seem like it involved a lot of tea and biscuits and singing really boring songs.

"There are a lot of rules that have to do with angels and demons that are stupid," Jo points out patiently, although there's a certain weariness to her voice. She wants to see this finished, too, wants her friend back instead of letting him remain a soulless monster, but until they have what they need, her hands are tied.

Waiting isn't something she's ever been particularly good at, and she hates that there's no immediate solution. It is what it is, but that doesn't mean she or anyone else has to like it.

"We're looking into alternatives. If we could ensure that we could get a hold of him and use Wonderland's magic to help us make a prison strong enough, that might work-- for awhile."

"And then they start breaking the rules and that ends up even worse," Sam replies, sounding resigned to it. It was obviously the logical next step. First zoms, then fast zoms, zoms with rocket launchers, zombie lynxes, talking zoms and people with lizard tails. It was all some awful spiral of crazy and sometimes Sam had to wonder if it was worth it.

"I want to help," he says quietly. "I don't want him going after you or Maxine or... or anyone else. I just... don't know anything about magic."

"IF there's anything you can do to help, I promise, I'll let you know," Jo tells him evenly, sympathetic. She knows how it feels, to want to do something, to want to protect people but feel somewhat helpless, caught on the fringes of the situation, whatever it is. She'd spent a lot of years feeling that way before she'd left home to hunt, and she even felt it on occasion now, left out and left behind thanks to the fact that the Winchesters were so many years ahead of her.

Sometimes, there was only so much she could do, but she's determined to be a part of the solution this time around. She reaches out, closing a reassuring hand over Sam's wrist.

"For right now, what you're doing is helpful. Learning those sigils, practicing those devil's traps. Keep salt and iron on you, make sure Maxine does the same. I don't want to see anyone hurt, especially the two of you." And especially especially Simon, but she's pretty sure she doesn't have to say as much.
