Who: Elphie, Mirror!Elphie and YOU
Where: various parts of the mansion + mirror world!
When: July 16-23!
Rating: pg-13, to be safe!
Summary: one green which walks the mirror side while one pale witch takes her place
The Story:
ELPHABA - MIRROR SIDE
[ the woman who walks the mirror side is green.
a stark contrast to the black and white, yes but there it is. elphaba jumped through the tear once and then twice and then three times before finding her way here and she almost smiles when she realizes where she is. finally.
it's the core that matters to the green girl, not the mirrors nor the mansion but she looks around anyway, peeks at faces and rooms on her way to where she wants to go.
she finds her mirror's room, exactly where her own is but different all the same, looks at the mirrors which show the real side and wonders if this is all the mirrors do all day, watch.
she searches for the core, searches for the queen, searches for answers. ]
MIRROR!ELPHIE - REAL SIDE
[ the room is painfully, offensively boring. too simple, too plain, too dull, much like its resident. elphaba looks around in distaste before she starts changing, her magic working each furniture and each detail until it is shimmering, white and beautiful. she smiles at the result, opens the door for all to enter.
the girl who took over the room is as white as snow in a grand gown with white flowers in her hair. she sets up a little table with tea cups and little biscuits, they're white, too.
the smile you'll get upon entering is positively sunny. ]
oh won't you join a lady for twa?

Doesn't stop him from going to try though. She may not have found the right rip or something--except she absolutely has, and Neal knows it the second he steps into the open door of her room. It stops him in his tracks, stunned as he takes in the vastly different surroundings. White opulence rather than impersonal simplicity, and if nothing else Neal's damn sure that Elphaba would hate this.]
No thanks; I'm good. [The culprit in question looks a lot like Neal's missing girlfriend, save for an utter lack of color in her skin and hair. He takes a few steps further in, eyeing her carefully, knowing that the mirrors are supposed to be opposite versions of the reals they're based on.
And if that's the case, Neal would expect this woman to be a lot more like Zelena than the actual owner of the room.]
Pretty interesting makeover you gave the place. Are you expecting to be here awhile?

[ she seems both offended and pouty, her silks rustling about as she moves. she has an odd, exaggerated grace to her, going about in long, flowing movements and little gestures that would make one think of cartoon princesses.
but zelena, that's quite insulting. out of all the witches, she's more than the both placed together, she's lovely. there's nothing lovely about them they're too busy being evil or philosophical in an ugly manner. she, whatever she does, she does beautifully. it's all anyone remembers anyway ]
refusing a young lady and then pestering her with questions, no, I think it's very ill-mannered, quite offensively ill mannered.
[ and perhaps the young, white lady shouldn't be offended. she looks down at her cup ]
it's not poisoned.
[ this time. ]

[Whether or not she likes it, that’s the sort of self-centered behavior Neal would expect from Zelena—so he isn’t exactly being proven wrong here, at least not in his own mind.
And for the record? Saying the tea isn’t poisoned like that doesn’t exactly inspire trust.]
Guess that means I should watch out for when it is. [He’s still not drinking it, thanks, but he does acquiesce to pulling out one of the chairs so he can drop down into it. If she wants company, he can put up with it, at least long enough to try and get some answers out of her.]

[ she pouts and puts down her cup, makes herself comfortable against the pilloes as she eyes him. it's all innocent fun, isn't it? it's how it is with young men and pretty girls and she's so much prettier than the previous owner of the room ]
she left, didn't she? she's the reason I'm here, isn't she? has some important business to handle, I'm sure she told you.
[ but then she gasps, it's dramatic and too loud and she chuckles, pours herself another cup ]
I forgot. it's all secrets with the other one. doesn't really tell things, doesn't she? too fond of leaving things and people in the dark~
[ unlike her, of course. ]
me, I adore light.

Yeah, someone else. You aren’t the Elphaba Thropp that belongs on this side of the mirrors. [How’s that for rude? He cocks his head to the side, listening to the counter to that, and sure, it’s all true. Neal’s aware that Elphaba’s the one who went through the rift, transferring this bleached-out alternate version to Wonderland in her place.
He knows all that, because he figured it out. So there’s really no way of helping how he frowns when she points out that fact, that once again someone else he cares about is keeping things from him. It’s a separate issue though; Neal ducks his head, reaching a hand up to scratch the back of his neck and willing his personal issues aside.
She’s looking to push her fingers into wounds, and Neal’s not going to let her.]
Sure you do. That’s why you wouldn’t give me a straight answer when you were writing on my mirror, right?
no subject
he's right in one thing, she pushes delicate, pale fingers into wounds but only because it's so much fun and only in a very ladylike manner, of course.
oz forbid that anyone should take her for anything less than the prettiest rose in the queen's garden. ]
you haven't earned it. having sex with the other doesn't win you favors from me, you realize.
[ said over her tea with a little wink ]
perhaps you need to ask better questions but you do realize, I only tell the truth.
[ so much is not entirely a lie, ironically enough ]
ask something you'd be brave enough to hear the answer to.
no subject
Never said it did. [And another unwanted thought? The idea that Elphaba’s creepy-ass mirror knows they’re sleeping together. Ew.] You seem to think there’s all this stuff I want to know from you, but you’re wrong. All I want to know is what’s going on with all this tear crap, and when my girlfriend is coming back.
mirror elphie!
Sorry, love, seem to have gotten turned around, or the mansion's playing tricks again. Thought this was Elphaba's room.

[ the woman crosses the room towards him, heavy gown swishing around her ankles until they are face to face and perhaps she's a bit too close for anyone's comfort but there is a point to be made here, isn't there? ]
look closely~
no subject
Ah, you'd be her mirror, then, wouldn't you? You look rather different than her.
no subject
[ she twirls before him, returning to the same spot she was at before, the one that is perhaps a shade too close but it doesn't seem to trouble her at all. elphie is all green and this one is all white and grandeur and her smile is perhaps less genuine but it does shine so much brighter. ]
I trust some things remain the same.
