moody on the beach
Who: Caroline Forbes and whoever she runs across!
Where: On the beach at first, then throughout the area.
When: Morning of the 14th
Rating: Safe for the kids
Summary: Caroline has arrived, and she's on a beach. Not that she's dressed for the beach, but there she is! Confused. Somewhat annoyed. Obviously in a great mood.
The Story:
She's on a beach.
This, among other things, has Caroline confused. Maybe baffled is a better word, since it seems more appropriate. She's not even irritated (yet), just...baffled.
One moment, the world goes to hell - literally, the Other Side just disappeared, thanks to some not so awesome magic shenanigans. Bonnie and Damon were lost and God knows when they can get them back (she's less worried about getting Damon back, but Bonnie. Bonnie is way more important and they need her. Not just for her witchy powers, but just because they need Bonnie Bennett in their lives.)
Yet, here she is. Standing on a beach, looking at the ocean with troubled eyes, and getting sand all over her really freakin' expensive boots. Seriously, she splurged on them and now she's gonna have to spend however long making sure every single grain is cleaned off.
Get it together, Forbes. She shakes her head, trying to focus on the issue at hand. That issue being she has no idea where she is. There's plenty of other things on her mind, but this is the best one to focus on for now. Everything else can come later.
With that thought in mind, Caroline starts her trek through the sand, heading in the direction of the only place that makes sense - the large building in the distance.
[OOC: Caroline can be encountered literally anywhere on the grounds or in the mansion at any time. Just run into her, or msg me about an encounter and I can put up a comment! I'm open to any and everything. BRING IT. ]

She knows enough about the place, but not everything. Caroline isn't even sure she actually believes any of what she's heard, determined to think that this was all some kind of whacked out fever dream from stress and whatever. However, she can say the idea of anyone messing with her memories is not something she takes kindly to - reminds her too much of being compelled when she was human. Not a good time.
"So, what you're saying is I've been here before?" Her question is followed by her eyes narrowing as she looks at him. "I might need to quiz you on some Caroline facts. Just to verify you're telling me the truth, you know."
Precautions and all.

It wasn't easy news for anyone, he imagines-- if he'd ever left and come back, he knows he would have had a difficult time believing in something he couldn't remember, but he's willing to be patient, and to allow her whatever time she needs to process. He goes on to put both hands up, fingers spread.
"I'll answer what I can," he tells her evenly, offering a vague half-smile. "I'm not saying we were close, but-- we had some things in common."

She wonders if that applies to blood bags, but it's not like she's asked anyone that. Talk about giving off a creepy impression.
"We did?" The tail end of what he says gets her attention, distracting her from the thought of blood bags for the moment. "Like what? Were you the winner of Miss. Mystic Falls, too, because I'm sure I would have totally remembered you."
It's not that funny of a joke, but he comes off a little serious, and it's natural to tease. Maybe because he seems a little like Stefan in some ways - with the hair and the serious expression and the what not. Maybe she just misses home that bad already.

In this, at least, there's no use in beating around the bush. With Bonnie and Elena, he couldn't be sure of how much they knew or how much he should say, but he can sense Caroline for what she is, and it's the same as she'd been during her last visit, or close enough to it.
"I mean we're both vampires. Ones who don't have any interest in hurting anyone else."

Her mouth forms a surprised 'o' and she glances around quickly, as if someone were lurking around a corner, just waiting for this tidbit of info on her.
"Hey, is that like something you're okay just casually mentioning?" She whisper-hissed as she comes closer to him. "What happened to the whole 'keep it secret' thing that's vampire code, or whatever?"
Not that she's the expert in vampire code - she lives her life basically as human-ish as she can. Except with super human strength and the compulsion and the blood thing.
It does bring a little bit of relief, however, knowing she's not the only vampire around town...the house? If she really had been here before, obviously she'd trusted him enough with this information.

That said, he was used to people knowing what he was, and he tells her as much as he grimaces, rubbing at the back of his neck.
"I'm kinda famous back home, anyway. Been a long time since I've had the opportunity to hide what I am. Sometimes I miss it, but-- something refreshing about being honest from the get-go."
