moody on the beach

Who: Caroline Forbes and whoever she runs across!
Where: On the beach at first, then throughout the area.
When: Morning of the 14th
Rating: Safe for the kids
Summary: Caroline has arrived, and she's on a beach. Not that she's dressed for the beach, but there she is! Confused. Somewhat annoyed. Obviously in a great mood.
The Story:

She's on a beach.

This, among other things, has Caroline confused. Maybe baffled is a better word, since it seems more appropriate. She's not even irritated (yet), just...baffled.

One moment, the world goes to hell - literally, the Other Side just disappeared, thanks to some not so awesome magic shenanigans. Bonnie and Damon were lost and God knows when they can get them back (she's less worried about getting Damon back, but Bonnie. Bonnie is way more important and they need her. Not just for her witchy powers, but just because they need Bonnie Bennett in their lives.)

Yet, here she is. Standing on a beach, looking at the ocean with troubled eyes, and getting sand all over her really freakin' expensive boots. Seriously, she splurged on them and now she's gonna have to spend however long making sure every single grain is cleaned off.

Get it together, Forbes. She shakes her head, trying to focus on the issue at hand. That issue being she has no idea where she is. There's plenty of other things on her mind, but this is the best one to focus on for now. Everything else can come later.

With that thought in mind, Caroline starts her trek through the sand, heading in the direction of the only place that makes sense - the large building in the distance.

[OOC: Caroline can be encountered literally anywhere on the grounds or in the mansion at any time. Just run into her, or msg me about an encounter and I can put up a comment! I'm open to any and everything. BRING IT. ]

"Yeah, you've been here before."

It wasn't easy news for anyone, he imagines-- if he'd ever left and come back, he knows he would have had a difficult time believing in something he couldn't remember, but he's willing to be patient, and to allow her whatever time she needs to process. He goes on to put both hands up, fingers spread.

"I'll answer what I can," he tells her evenly, offering a vague half-smile. "I'm not saying we were close, but-- we had some things in common."

"Afraid not. Not for lack of trying. Just made a bad call on the dress. Wrong cut for me," Angel quips in reply without skipping a beat, his voice perfectly deadpan-- something he's had a lot of practice with over the last two hundred years or so.

In this, at least, there's no use in beating around the bush. With Bonnie and Elena, he couldn't be sure of how much they knew or how much he should say, but he can sense Caroline for what she is, and it's the same as she'd been during her last visit, or close enough to it.

"I mean we're both vampires. Ones who don't have any interest in hurting anyone else."

"We're kind of in close quarters here," he explains, though he lowers his voice in an attempt to help her feel a little more at ease with discussing it; it would help the both of them to avoid drawing undue attention. "Those kinds of secrets are hard to keep, and the longer you do keep them, the more people wonder why. Better to be honest. If you don't mean anyone harm-- people still distrust you at first, but they appreciate straightforwardness. Helps avoid a witch hunt."

That said, he was used to people knowing what he was, and he tells her as much as he grimaces, rubbing at the back of his neck.

"I'm kinda famous back home, anyway. Been a long time since I've had the opportunity to hide what I am. Sometimes I miss it, but-- something refreshing about being honest from the get-go."
