moody on the beach
Who: Caroline Forbes and whoever she runs across!
Where: On the beach at first, then throughout the area.
When: Morning of the 14th
Rating: Safe for the kids
Summary: Caroline has arrived, and she's on a beach. Not that she's dressed for the beach, but there she is! Confused. Somewhat annoyed. Obviously in a great mood.
The Story:
She's on a beach.
This, among other things, has Caroline confused. Maybe baffled is a better word, since it seems more appropriate. She's not even irritated (yet), just...baffled.
One moment, the world goes to hell - literally, the Other Side just disappeared, thanks to some not so awesome magic shenanigans. Bonnie and Damon were lost and God knows when they can get them back (she's less worried about getting Damon back, but Bonnie. Bonnie is way more important and they need her. Not just for her witchy powers, but just because they need Bonnie Bennett in their lives.)
Yet, here she is. Standing on a beach, looking at the ocean with troubled eyes, and getting sand all over her really freakin' expensive boots. Seriously, she splurged on them and now she's gonna have to spend however long making sure every single grain is cleaned off.
Get it together, Forbes. She shakes her head, trying to focus on the issue at hand. That issue being she has no idea where she is. There's plenty of other things on her mind, but this is the best one to focus on for now. Everything else can come later.
With that thought in mind, Caroline starts her trek through the sand, heading in the direction of the only place that makes sense - the large building in the distance.
[OOC: Caroline can be encountered literally anywhere on the grounds or in the mansion at any time. Just run into her, or msg me about an encounter and I can put up a comment! I'm open to any and everything. BRING IT. ]

@dining room
It's just-- well, if you'd been up all night every night for a month researching other witches' spells to try to find your way out of a magical prison you'd probably appreciate a ravenous appetite a little more, geez. (Also you should try the french toast here in the dining room it is divine.)
So when Bonnie sees the tall blonde walk past the door of the dining room, she kind of fumbles. It's around a full mouth of eggy fried bread (and pre-makeup because her stomach had demanded priority this morning) that Bonnie blurts out Caroline's name in shock. It's as she swallows too-much food that isn't-quite-chewed-enough that she shoves her chair away from the table and starts to make her way around it.

It has been an exercise in discipline on her part to keep herself from having a complete meltdown, but it hovers on the horizon. Waiting.
The sound of her name, though said through a full mouth, is from a voice as familiar to her as Elena's. She immediately turns toward the dining room, inside the door and choking out Bonnie's name around her own mouthful of food before she wraps her arms around the witch. There's a half laugh, half sob from her as she can only hug her friend, a friend she just watched vanish only hours ago.

"I'm so sorry!" There is probably syrup on Caroline somewhere. Oh gosh. "My fingers are all sticky 'cause I wanted to catch you and I didn't grab a napkin and I'm so sorry!"
It's awkward to hold someone close and also try not to touch them with gross fingers too much. She's also too happy to have Caroline in her arms to care that she's running out of air at the moment.

Yes, she found a silver lining. One of...one.
"I can't believe you're here! I mean, I can't believe I'm here, either, but still. You were..." She trails off, unable to voice just exactly why she's so happy to see her friend. There's a little bit to do with not being totally alone here, but it's more to do with Bonnie disappearing with the Other Side. "How long have you been here?"

"Oh god, uhh-- like a month?" Bonnie had spent more time trying to figure a way out than counting the days gone by. So much had happened. She stands before Caroline, still in shock that her best friend is here with her, now. "This feels really wrong considering the circumstances, but I'm so glad to see you."
Sure, Bonnie and Elena are survivors but it's never quite right unless all three of the girls are together. "Wait, have you gotten all the information? You know what's going on?"
no subject
Not just someone, but one of her best friends, who she had total faith in. Bonnie and Elena were both solid rocks she knew she could always lean on when she needed it, and God knew she definitely needed it now.
"I got a lot of it...I think." She didn't sound entirely sure as she took a moment to brush her hair out of her face, shaking her head to settle her mind a little (like that ever works, she swears her brain is rattling). "We're in Wonderland, which makes literally no sense, but it's not like I can argue about it. Magical voodoo type stuff brought us here? Right?"
She hasn't gotten very far in believing any of this from the mouths of strangers.

"Really powerful magic. Nothing I've tried even comes close so far, but there are other witches here so I've been studying and trying to learn everything I can." She'll never stop looking and barely rests enough as it is. There are few nights Bonnie doesn't fall asleep on top of books and journals covered in notes. Every answer she finds just leads to more questions, a vicious goose chase she's not sure she'll ever win.
She smiles up at Caroline despite it all, though. If any of them were going to take this situation well, it would certainly be her. "I was going to grab some coffee, actually. If you want to come with?"
