( closed ) sleep tight buttercup
Who: Lydia Martin + Bonnie Bennett
Where: Lydia's room
When: April 6
Rating: PG
Summary: Girly sleepover time
The Story: ( They needed this, or at least Lydia needed this. Needed some down time - some relaxation. After her 'heart to heart' with Faith it had made Lydia get into her own head - to know what her own problem was.
It was one of the reasons why she'd text Bonnie, though the other reasons were better. She'd enjoyed talking to Bonnie before, and though Lydia hadn't been the most welcoming she hoped that the two could be friends - and what better way was there to do that than spend time together?
Lydia had gotten spare sleepover supplies from her closet, though any food or- anything else (games, movies, food) had been left until Bonnie had arrived. Since then there'd been food, and a lot of talking. It was nice getting to know her - and to have another friend her age, one that Lydia could definitely relate to )
So- you've probably noticed the terrible guy situation. ( Where were all the age appropriate people to flirt with. Gosh. They may be trapped but they needed some fun ) I think there's been a few new arrivals recently but not a great choice.
( Unless Bonnie isn't choosey )

right. ]
Well, it seems like there aren't even a lot of people our age...
no subject
( Everyone needs a gal pal, especially one their own age. She's met great adults but it's really not the same )
But there are some. If you've been looking.
no subject
Me? No, why would you-- I haven't had time, you know? With uhm, learning about this place. [ change the subject, switch the focus-- don't think about jeremy... ] Why? Is there someone you're looking at?
no subject
No. ( There is someone that she enjoys spending time with but Wonderland hasn't really been the best place for that kind of 'getting to know you' ) But you are new. Someone could have caught your eye.
( And okay, maybe she's gotten a little rusty on girl pal type things )
Or maybe it's not guys.
( Or there's someone at home. But home can be harder to talk about )
no subject
It's not that, it's just-- complicated? Back home, everything's kind of crazy. [ does she just come out and say it? because it's not like her people haven't been here before. there's one way to hopefully make this easier-- if lydia's heard of mystic falls then the whole vampires, werewolves, and witches oh my talk would go smoother. ] Elena and I are from a town called Mystic Falls-- did we mention that?
no subject
( Not yet admitting that her own place is the same kind of complicated. Just in case it isn't that kind of complicated - it could still be romance complicated )
no subject
[ not a total gamble when it comes to wonderland-- and bonnie's hardly admitting anything about herself just yet. maybe lydia knows of angel, or knew damon when he was here, even. ]
no subject
( And how easily is that said with a shrug? Too easily. But it's something that Lydia is so used to )
no subject
Wow. OK. How about ... witches? [ don't be nervous. lydia was just super chill about zombies and giants. this is fine. ]
no subject
( Though fewer definitely come out and say they're a witch rather than anything else. Maybe that's just her luck, or maybe it's a Wonderland thing )
They might still be here.
no subject
Well, now you've met ... two or three.
[ she's not biting her lip she's just ... furiously nervously anxiously biting her lip ok you got her. ]
no subject
When did you find out? Or have you always known?
no subject
[ she takes a deep breath, sighing some of the stress off of herself. lydia's reaction certainly helps her not feel the exposure this sort of thing tended to bring. ]
I would see images, and get feelings from people. This one time I was just-- obsessed with three numbers. It wound up they were random things at a murder scene in my town.
no subject
( Because those numbers and murder scenes are pretty creepy (and unfortunate) things to have visions of. Also eerily familiar, without the vision and magic part )
no subject
[ kinda hard to tell what's normal. for bonnie, it's all she had. ]
Once I started learning to control it, they didn't invade my entire life anymore, at least.
no subject
( To not be plagued by such a thing )
Is it just visions or is there more?
no subject
I can cast spells, and-- here, it's easier to show you. Can I?
[ she gestures to the jewelry tree on lydia's wardrobe, neatly draped with cute accessories that bonnie will totally be asking to borrow sometime... ]
no subject
Okay.

My Gran used to say that we're connected to nature on this fundamental level. That witches are responsible for upholding a balance.
no subject
Responsible how? What happens if the balance doesn't stay balanced?
thank you ♥♥♥
[ bonnie's not spewing anything verbatim so much as recalling her own experiences so far. her eyes drop to her hands in her lap-- this is about as personal an experience can get. ]
Or, the witch who offends nature could suffer.
no subject
( That sounds like die )
no subject
Or lose our power. Our connection.
[ just saying it hurts. knowing that she would do it all over again even if it meant facing even worse consequences. she'd been in the wrong but she doesn't care. ]
no subject
( OUT OF CURIOSITY )
no subject
Bringing someone back. [ deep breath. ] From dying.
