Who: Selina Kyle and YOU!
Where: Deep Roads!
When: May 7th-10th
Rating: PG for now?
Summary: Unable to pass up the opportunity for exploration and treasure, Selina heads into the tunnels of the Deep Roads. By herself.
The Story:

May 7th; entering the tunnels
[ The fact that Selina has avoided going into the new tunnels for two whole days after they first appeared is pretty impressive. Since day one, she's been aware of the possibility of treasure being found in there and it has been tempting, but she's been wanting to do at least a small amount of planning before going in. Not that there's actually all that much she can plan, she realizes a bit late, without knowing for sure what might be found aside from treasure.

Having pulled a bag out of the closet in her room yesterday, she'd been smart enough to pack some food, bottles of water, a first aid kit, and some rope (it seems useful for spelunking, right?). Feeling about as prepared as she can be, she leaves out some food and water for her kittens before making her way out to the grounds, toward the Deep Roads. Could she ask someone to come with her? Sure. Does she want to? No. She prefers her adventures to be solitary most of the time, and she doesn't need any help! She knows perfectly well how to take care of herself, given she's kind of been doing exactly that for a long time.

Thus, she disappears into the tunnels without letting anyone know that she's going, already finding herself excited over what she might find. ]

May 8th; exploration
[ Having spent a few hours in and out of sleep inside a crevice large enough for her to fit into, she crawls out back onto the road and stands, brushing dirt off of her jacket and adjusting her hood and goggles where they sit on her head. Not exactly feeling rested, but well enough to keep going, Selina picks up where she left off, carrying on deeper into the tunnels. ]

How did I forget a flashlight?

[ Shaking her head, she glances around the gloomy tunnels. Sure, she argues all the time that she can see in the dark, but that isn't...exactly true. Her ability to see in the dark is really about the same as the average person, maybe a tiny bit better. Thankfully she's not in utter darkness, but still. A light she could manipulate to an extent would prove useful. ]

May 8th; running into trouble
[ She's been lucky so far. Not that she realizes it. She hasn't crossed paths with any darkspawn in the two days she's been in the Deep Roads, though she hasn't been the only living thing on the path she's taken to following. She's seen plenty of rats all over the place and even the odd nug here and there. The pink rabbit things had definitely startled her made her nose wrinkle in disgust, but it was pretty easy to tell that they were harmless. The brontos she'd come into contact with were kind of another story, though. Somehow she'd managed to spook one and had to deal with it charging at her, but she'd been able to shake it off with some running and quick manoeuvres. Since then, she's given the beasts a wide berth the moment she spots them.

Having not brought a weapon, thinking she wouldn't need one because she's capable and able to fight without one, Selina runs into a problem on her third day of exploration. A group of genlocks manage to find her and take her by surprise. The disgusting creatures are quick to attack, but Selina has her wits about her. Leaping to the side as arrows are fired her way, her eyes dart around in search of some manner of escaping, or at least some way to avoid the long-ranged attacks that she can't block.

By the time more arrows are fired, she's running. The projectiles whizzing over her head and just behind her, Selina ducks and dodges behind a large boulder that's big enough to provide cover. Breathing hard, she presses her back against the rock and tries to come up with a plan. And quickly, because she can hear the footsteps of the genlocks armed with axes and daggers heading her way.

Obviously, she can't fight. Backtracking might work, but that depends on how fast the monsters are. There aren't any other tunnels near enough that she can disappear into, and there isn't anywhere she can climb up to get any height from the things so she can wait them out.

Basically, it seems like she's screwed. ]

May 9th; finally treasure!!
[ All in all, it's been an eventful as hell few days. Tired, covered in dirt and some scratches, Selina has been wondering for the last two days how much farther she'll have to go before she finally finds something to make the adventure really worth it. Sure, sure, it's been fun here and there, kind of scary in a few other places, but she's exhausted and more than ready to find her reward already.

Snacking on a granola bar, her bag considerably lighter now than it had been when she first started, the girl sighs in frustration. The idea of giving up doesn't cross her mind though, no matter how fed up she's becoming--she's come too far for that! ...Plus, she's stubborn. Instead, she keeps trudging along, keeping an eye out for any more dangers.

And that's when she spots it. Just a little glint from up above catches her eye. Head lifting, her breath almost catches in excitement. It's a reflection that she's seeing, and it looks gold. Meaning there has to be something golden and shiny up there, on a ledge way above the ground.

Without even a second thought, Selina hurries toward the wall of the tunnel, shoving the last bit of granola bar into her mouth. Like a lady. Hands reaching out, she grabs hold of the rocky wall and starts to pull herself up. It's not the easiest climb she's ever made, but she's determined. She's going to make it up there, and she's going to be rewarded with something valuable. Nothing is going to stop her. ]
