The Story:

Your own medicine is worth twice the sweetness in the bush, that is what they say! Here is my plan, now make sure you listen well, or you get it wrong, and then I would need to pair you all up, for only two even wrongs set my head back on right, and we've no time for such things, no time at all, do we?

As mighty as the sharpest blade, as stout as the hardest shield, a spool of thread woven from hearts of gold. It must exist, and I must have it! She'll do worse to my head if I search, but you'll help, won't you? I will let you see, and you will be my eyes! All good things come tomorrow - then I'll let you see, and you'll be my eyes, and when it's all done you'll use your own mouths to tell my personal ears all you know, won't you?

All of Wonderland's mirrors are suddenly working in reverse. The Real side can see everything, and the Mirror side is left with nothing but their own reflections. Details of the event can be found here.

[ she could hide who she is, but she's not sure that's an advantage, in this case. ]

[ faith rolls out a nod, settling in with one hand on her hip. ]

Right. The one she wants to hold back...

[ elena tips her head to the side, expression souring. ]

It's the opposite, in fact. [ faith's helped. probably more than she realizes. ]

You think lifting weights and hitting stuff that doesn't hit back is helpful?

[ awww-- the mirrors face starts to crinkle at the forehead, eyes lightening to a sickly yellow. her teeth protrude out of her mouth-- not just two small fangs, but a row of sharp angry ripping things. ]

I don't think you'll stand a chance when you get caught alone, kiddo.

[ faith doesn't need to remind elena of her own fragility. she's human in a sea of supernatural creatures. it means she has to rely on quick thinking and the element of surprise. sometimes that's not enough. it's never enough when it comes to real power.

that's not what surprises her. it's the fangs. eyes round, elena takes a step back. ]

You're a vampire?

[ she licks her jagged teeth ]

[ faith is the vampire slayer, after all. not a vampire. ]

[ she already knows the answer. faith's darkness isn't that far from her surface, either. ]

Honestly? You seem intent on giving her a hard time.

[ elena hasn't forgotten faith's initial message, after all, calling her real counterpart a liar. ]

[ faith's visage returns to its human form, and her expression shutters. how dare you elena. ]

[ elena doesn't want to betray faith's confidence. the slayer was one of the first to greet her in wonderland, and genuinely gave her good advice. whatever her mirror seems to think, elena's been getting stronger and faster because of her, and that means something.

but she's curious in spite of herself. and before she probes any deeper, she forces herself to ask a different question. ]

Mayor and Deputy. Got it. Are you safe on the other side?

Oh, don't worry kiddo. You're already over here looking out for my ... wellbeing.

[ faith's smile, despite the lack of dropped fangs, is quite toothy... ]

[ she's already been through this once. she met katherine face to face, and was confronted with a face that was hers and wasn't. she doesn't know if she can do it again, and she has no one else to blame. the mirror was created because she is here.

elena backs away, a distinct lack of reply from her as that toothy smile lingers in her mind. ]
