Summary: A catch-all log for Mirrors and Reals during the reverse espionage event. Anything from Mirrors leading their daily lives, over Reals reacting to the show, to Reals and Mirrors exchanging messages goes here. Just label your locations and sides accordingly!
The Story:

Your own medicine is worth twice the sweetness in the bush, that is what they say! Here is my plan, now make sure you listen well, or you get it wrong, and then I would need to pair you all up, for only two even wrongs set my head back on right, and we've no time for such things, no time at all, do we?

As mighty as the sharpest blade, as stout as the hardest shield, a spool of thread woven from hearts of gold. It must exist, and I must have it! She'll do worse to my head if I search, but you'll help, won't you? I will let you see, and you will be my eyes! All good things come tomorrow - then I'll let you see, and you'll be my eyes, and when it's all done you'll use your own mouths to tell my personal ears all you know, won't you?

All of Wonderland's mirrors are suddenly working in reverse. The Real side can see everything, and the Mirror side is left with nothing but their own reflections. Details of the event can be found here.

[Just gonna announce her presence so Peridot has a chance to hide whatever pained face she was making, if that's what she wants to do. Amethyst gets it.

She places a hand on the top of Peridot's head.]

What's wrong with yours? 'Cause mine keeps turning into horrible monsters and it's kindaaa freakin' me out.

[right now it's sort of flat, though at Amethyst's announcement, she digs a finger underneath her visor just to be sure she hasn't been having emotions about this and it slipped her notice.]

Nothing. By Homeworld standards, she's absolutely perfect.

[Amethyst leans her arm on Peridot's head.]

I mean. If you want to go by those standards. They're not exactly good standards.

[slapfight]

Well- [she starts to protest, realizes that's not something she even should be protesting, and then just ends up sputtering incoherently.] I don't know what it says about me that we're not even that different. She's exactly how I was... before...

[you know... before. she expected her Mirror to be effectively a much different cut of gem than her. but she's not.]

Well, if she's the same as how you used to be... then that just shows how different you are now. The nega-Peridot that never changed.

[She gestures at the Mirror Peridot.] I wouldn't hang out with her. I bet she doesn't even like pie.

[slapfight]

[Peridot chortles and tries to cover the blush with her hand.] Yes, well... Liking pie wouldn't be an efficient use of her time. She has things to research and data to input... [oh wait she does those things still.] Er... Sketchy... Mirror data. Not data for her own personal records. That's different.

Sure it would! She could be stuffing her face with one enhanced hand, and inputting sketchy Mirror data with the other!

[Surely Mirror Peridot would see the benefit in multitasking. Amethyst eats while doing other stuff all the time.]

What kinda Mirror data would she even find, anyway? --Ugh, what if she's taking notes on us? Would she do that?

Probably. It's likely that she has logs on all of us. All Mirrors do is observe us, anyway, as far as anyone has said, and there's no one better suited to that sort of work than a Peridot.

[ugh. but... wait.] ...Which does give me an idea.

I've heard they cross over sometimes, too, but... what's your idea?

[slapfight]

[she chortles] If she has records of all of us, it would be feasible to steal them and see what data the Queen of Hearts has collected so far. Plus, assuming she doesn't have back-ups- which she probably does, but no matter- we could set back her research for months. It's brilliant!

Heh, yeah! Good one! Except, wouldn't we have to get over to her side of the mirrors to do that?

[slapfight]

[long pause] ...You mean there really isn't a way over there no one talks about?

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting to tell you. There's a few ways to get there. The glass can disappear, and you can just step through. Another way to get there is for your Mirror to switch sides. Aaaand the best, not completely impossible way is to find the Rabbit Hole! Which is apparently not easy. But definitely possible!

[She asked Souji about this like on her first day, after talking to Peridot. She just hasn't remembered to actually tell Peridot.]

I mean we're Gems. And I'm a Kindergarten technician. Finding a hole in the ground should be easy.

Yeah! Souji didn't say where the hole would be... just that we'd have to find it. But I bet it's in those tunnels! I've never seen anything... rabbity down there, but it's gotta be there somewhere.

[slapfight]

Exactly. [she grabs Amethyst's shoulders.] And I bet I know those tunnels better than anyone at this point. We could do what no other gem, human, or other sentient lifeform has done before, Amethyst.

Uh... Go through a hole?

[slapfight]

[flatly] No. [don't step on her thunder here, amethyst.

...okay nothing can step on her thunder. she will just gather more thunder.] We'll figure out the mysteries of Wonderland on our terms. Not the terms of some arbitrary rules set down by the overlords.

Haha, yeah, that! And then we can send everyone home, right?

YES. And we can get back to our drill, stop the cluster, and save the Earth!


[.....] ...and then resume panicking about my life as a fugitive from Homeworld and how I'll probably be hunted down and personally crushed by Yellow Diamond [her hands slip from amethyst's shoulder]. Repeatedly crushed until there's not even enough of me left to perform more horrible gem fusion experiments on as punishment for my insolence.

[she takes a squeaky, shuddering breath to steel herself against the onslaught of anxiety that is trying to overwhelm her.] But... that's a problem for after all of this. One disaster at a time.

Uhh... Hey, you don't gotta worry about Yellow Diamond. You're a Crystal Gem now. She can't touch you without getting through us.

[Of course, having a Diamond targeting them might be more than they can handle between just the five of them. Amethyst doesn't dwell on things like that, though. She knows they have to protect themselves against Homeworld, so they have to be able to do it. Simple as that.

It's probably easier for Amethyst since she doesn't know as much about Homeworld. They've always just been a vague presence for her.

Amethyst wraps an arm around Peridot and pulls her against her side in a half-hug.]

We'll deal with whatever she sends at us. You're gonna be fine. Right now we just worry about getting out, then the Cluster.

[slapfight]

[she'd like to point out that the five of them against Yellow Diamond's entire army is literal suicide and logically it will never work, but logically drilling a hole in the middle of the Earth's mantle to stop a renegade fusion experiment from manifesting is equally insane, and she's heading that plan.

plus steven does seem to have some crazy ability to empathize with literally anyone.

so while her mind runs through a dozen scenarios about how that will not plan out the way they want and they will probably all die in the attempt, she just.. accepts the hug, blushes a bit, and while smooshed against Amethyst's side, manages the two words she knows when it comes to expressing gratitude.]

[as simple as they are, they contain multitudes she still can't figure out how to adequately express, because she's never had to feel this way about anyone or anything before. it's enough to even get her a bit choked up. she has friends who will protect her, even if she doesn't deserve it.
