'Tis rather inconvenient like this. +

Who: You! !oot ,uoy dnA
Where: Wonderland, both Real and Mirror side
When: June 3 to June 10
Rating: PG-13, will vary by thread, warnings for higher ratings appreciated
Summary: A catch-all log for Mirrors and Reals during the reverse espionage event. Anything from Mirrors leading their daily lives, over Reals reacting to the show, to Reals and Mirrors exchanging messages goes here. Just label your locations and sides accordingly!
The Story:

Your own medicine is worth twice the sweetness in the bush, that is what they say! Here is my plan, now make sure you listen well, or you get it wrong, and then I would need to pair you all up, for only two even wrongs set my head back on right, and we've no time for such things, no time at all, do we?

As mighty as the sharpest blade, as stout as the hardest shield, a spool of thread woven from hearts of gold. It must exist, and I must have it! She'll do worse to my head if I search, but you'll help, won't you? I will let you see, and you will be my eyes! All good things come tomorrow - then I'll let you see, and you'll be my eyes, and when it's all done you'll use your own mouths to tell my personal ears all you know, won't you?

All of Wonderland's mirrors are suddenly working in reverse. The Real side can see everything, and the Mirror side is left with nothing but their own reflections. Details of the event can be found here.

[Alphys knows a thing or two about not being able to pull herself away from the Mirrors at the moment, but... she also knows she shouldn't be stuck in front of them or she'll just go nuts. So when she sees someone else stuck in front of one of those mirrors, someone she's pretty sure she's talked to before, she can't resist reaching out, just a little.]

Are you, uhm... o-okay?
slapfight: (△ I MUST HAVE PUNCH NOW.)

[personal profile] slapfight 2016-06-07 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
[abruptly and with the tone of someone who did not want to be caught doing this again] YES. I'M FINE. I'M JUST... OBSERVING.

[in the silence that follows her outburst, she blinks slowly, realizing her critical error in trying to prove she's Perfectly Fine, and is left sitting there awkwardly hoping the other party did not notice at all...]
sciencelizard: (« [Cringe] HAHA OH WOW FUCK)

[personal profile] sciencelizard 2016-06-10 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Alphys actually jumps when Peridot barks at her, hands clasping together and shrinking down a bit . Oh, she didn't want to make anyone mad, oh gosh, oh jeez.]

I'm s-sorry, I didn't, uh, mean to interrupt or, uhm, m-make you uncomfortable, I just, uh... s-sorry.

[She lets a small bout of silence pass.]

It is... k-kind of interesting, right? Looking at t-them all.
slapfight: (△ ....and a sixty pound hall pass)

[personal profile] slapfight 2016-06-14 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[awkward silence. awkward silence.

awkwaaaaard silence.

right. she's calm. she's so very calm. so very calm and not full of stress because of her stupid Mirror.]
...Interesting is... one word for it.

[she turns back to the mirror, scowling as her Mirror Self begins narrating wordlessly to her holographic screens as she works. to anyone else, it would look like she was talking to herself.] I miss being able to do that.
sciencelizard: (« [Embarassed] too many compliments yo)

[personal profile] sciencelizard 2016-06-17 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Doing... w-what, exactly? The, uh, talking to screens t-thing? Because, uhm, t-there are other screens to talk to, uhm, a-around here, or something...

[Alphys doesn't quite understand. Did she used to look like that? Was she in some kind of accident that her Mirror wasn't?]
slapfight: (△ YOU SMELL LIKE HUMAN.)

[personal profile] slapfight 2016-06-20 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Having screens and limb enhancers and... being tall. It's not fair! She's not even a real Peridot! She's a copy! A-a counterfeit.

[so she's still got some issues about not having limb enhancers even if she doesn't have AS MANY issues about Homeworld.]
sciencelizard: (« [Anxious] HAHA WELL YA SEE...)

[personal profile] sciencelizard 2016-06-23 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh-- Alphys looks between the mirror and Peridot. They're machines, not part of her. That's... a little less complicated, kind of. It's something she understands better at least.]

Well, all of our mirrors a-are, fakes of us, in a certain w-way. But, uhm... I g-guess you used to have those, t-too? Limb enhancers?

[She can kind of see the appeal. Having longer arms and legs would make it easier to do certain things. Depending on her job they might've made it easier for her.]
slapfight: (△ but i don't really want to go there)

[personal profile] slapfight 2016-06-26 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. They were destroyed when I... [er was captured by the people who are now her only friends??] ...defected.
sciencelizard: (« [Excited] Kiss someone to set me free~)

[personal profile] sciencelizard 2016-07-01 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
... Oh.

[Well now she feels bad. This is... deep.

She stands there in silence for a few seconds, watching Peridot's mirror, before she starts getting a little engrossed in the enhancers themselves.]

So they're, uhm, r-robotic pieces? Do they generate t-those screens from an onboard computing s-system? Are the fingers magnetic, or do they use g-generated electrical fields?

[The questions come faster and faster the more she thinks of them. Wow, those are pretty cool.]
slapfight: (△ he has toilet children)

[personal profile] slapfight 2016-07-05 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[her face lights up.] Generated electrical fields! They can even use some of their excess output to electrocute enemies. And the screens are controlled by the main interfaces. The holograms even have a scanning function that taps into Homeworld's network and allows me to get information on anything I want. The computational prowess of those arm enhancements is greater than the average Homeworld supercomputer.
sciencelizard: (« [Thoughtful] Careful consideration)

[personal profile] sciencelizard 2016-07-10 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
[She's snapped to attention when Peridot starts speaking, but she hasn't caught up with herself to be scared yet amidst all this Science Talk. She puts her hand to her chin as she speaks.]

Oh! A-And in such a small space? It must have a s-self sustaining generator and some good signal outputs... and with access to o-other databases, you don't need to have heavy storage in the d-device, making it lightweight and e-easy to use! And the speed l-looks to be really nice... those, uhm, r-really are amazing.
slapfight: (△ deep down i'm baloney?)

[personal profile] slapfight 2016-07-11 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
They're absolutely necessary for field missions. Of course, they lack direct communication output, so if you were to say, become stranded, without access to your ship's communicators, you would have to get creative. [an unpleasant beat] Or resign yourself to a life of exile on a backwards nowhere planet that's been deemed useless for colonization.

[tight smile.] Which does happen. On occasion.
sciencelizard: (« [Anxious] HAHA WELL YA SEE...)

[personal profile] sciencelizard 2016-07-19 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
... Oh.

[Well. That's. Whoops, maybe she shouldn't have pried.]

Well, uh, t-they don't look like they would be too hard to modify, or, uhm, r-redesign. I mean, uh, I don't know anything about, uh, the sorts of t-technology they originally had, but, uh, m-maybe I could figure out, uh, s-something similar? I mean, uhm, I'm an engineer, I mean, I m-make stuff, I've never made anything l-like that, but, it might be a f-fun challenge?
slapfight: (△ he has toilet children)

[personal profile] slapfight 2016-07-19 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Peridot wants to protest that she can do it herself, but she has no idea where to even begin with modifying the technology she has available to her without utterly destroying it. it's all unbearably simple until it isn't...

and wait... didn't Sans tell her about someone who could probably help her? ...OH.

she leaps to her feet and points, excitedly.]
You! Yes, you're the one that Sans told me about. I almost forgot! You can help me.

sciencelizard: (« [Whoops] /MISTAKE/)

post-hiatus tag, totally ok if you drop!

[personal profile] sciencelizard 2016-08-05 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Alphys lets out a little yelp, stumbling back and raising her arms instinctively, but... oh, that's right, that text she got a while back. Sans mentioned speaking to someone about building something, and this must be her.]

Uh, Sans did, uh, m-mention someone uh, talking to me about, uh, r-robotics stuff? I guess, uhm, t-that's you! With these, uhm, e-enhancer things? If you, uhm, w-wanna tell me about, uhm, all the t-things you know about them, I can, uhm, make some p-prototypes...?
slapfight: (△ and a clown with no head!)

[personal profile] slapfight 2016-08-09 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[SHE'S SO EXCITED!!!]

Yes, yes. All of that. Of course, I may have a hard time describing the mechanics in, ah, primitive terms. No offense to your culture, of course, but the reason I haven't made any myself is because I'm working with technology far beneath what I'm used to.

[she leans over her a bit, still grinning.] But I'm sure we can figure out the details.
sciencelizard: (« [Embarrassed] ok just a Tiny Incident)

[personal profile] sciencelizard 2016-08-16 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Y-Yeah! I have, uhm, I m-mean, monsters operate a little d-differently than human technology, uhm, t-too, so maybe we can... approximate some, uh, s-similarities? It can't be that d-difficult. If you can, uhm, give me any information you have, I can d-draw up some blueprints, and try some things!

[Oh gosh Peridot is so excited, she really hopes she doesn't let her down.]
