Damon is quicker, and Damon is stronger. He grabs hold of the surprisingly strong kid except oh right, it's Peter Parker, and Damon is up on pop culture enough to know about Spider-man. Vampires just happen to be a whole lot stronger than bug bitten teens. He removes the vervain bracelet from him, because protection from compulsion isn't always effective when someone can more quickly take it off of them.
"Listen, bug boy, you're going to forget you ever came here and go away."
Compulsion is such an easy power for Damon to wield. He's done it so many times for so many different things, compelling someone to feel better as vague as that might be, compelling them to not be afraid of him, compelling them to forget a specific memory.
"Bonnie is fine. Come back in two days."
And Peter listens immediately, turning around and walking in the other direction.
Damon shuts and locks the door behind him, planning on not answering it again, as he sinks back down on to the bed again with his bourbon and drinks and waits and doesn't sleep.
3/3 :')

He'll be like that until Bonnie comes back.
