Who: Damon Salvatore + OTA (but he's going to attack people who annoys him, just so you know)
Where: around mansion
When: 24th of July - 30th of July
Rating: PG-13 at least
Summary: Elena disappeared. Damon is a mess.
The Story:
Damon cannot find Elena anywhere. Never mind that the last time he saw her she was defending the asshole that tried to kill him. She is nowhere in the mansion at all, and Damon searches each and every single corner for her, busting down doors, looking for her wherever he can look as he drinks from multiple bottles of bourbon. He always has one in hand as he darts around the mansion, shoving down doors, rough housing people who might know where Elena's at. No one has satisfying answers.
He's dangerous.
He's angry.
He's not to be messed with at the moment, tearing down the hallways, flipping over shelves and anything that happens to be in his way in his anger, in his sheer frustration
and refusal to accept. He leaves a path of destruction wherever he goes, broken tables, holes in walls, a path of destruction left behind him. Broken doors and broken walls.
Damon doesn't give a fuck.

Damon doesn't give a fuck.
What could go wrong?
In his mind he's half expecting to see some horrible Wonderland creature, something dangerous that would make him regret this choice, but instead there's Damon overturning furniture and looking, well... angry. It makes him wonder if he shouldn't leave the other man - vampire - alone. But Damon is a friend even if he doesn't think so and Jowan clears his throat before he ventures closer.
"Damon? Is... Is everything all right?"
absolutely nothing :D >>
"Great. Peachy."
He zooms over in Jowan's direction likely... too close for comfort because what are boundaries?
"I love living in a mansion, which can just take someone away out of thin air. I love being nearly staked. I love it all so much I thought the place needed a makeover."
He gestures back to the destruction behind him. Sarcasm drips.

But the anger and frustration in Damon's words at least he can understand more, can realise that it's not really directed at him, and as Jowan glances back past Damon at the destruction he's been causing, he can remember as well that... well. Anders did tell him that the mansion repaired itself? And the wardrobes can make seemingly anything too, so Damon isn't really causing any lasting harm this way.
So when he looks back at the other man, he's still a little hesitant but hopeful. "...did you want some help? I could start some fires or cover things in ice or something?" And remembering as well how he'd felt after everything with Lily, he cautiously offers: "Or we could see how much alcohol we can get from the wardrobes?"
hahaha i apologize
"Why do you insist on helping a monster?" Because that is what Damon is at the end of the day. He's a monster. They went over that. He drinks blood to survive. He could easily try to drink Jowan's right now. He can hear the man's heart beating, thumping.
His pulse is like an echo in the hallway, inside of Damon.
"I mean, what's the point really? Unlike you, I have embraced what I am. I don't try to restrain it, only to explode later like my brother." Damon shakes his head lightly, picking up some object or another from a nearby table, tossing it. It breaks. "Ah, Stefan. He always played it good, so good he only drank animal blood, and then the slightest whiff of human blood... he'd lose it. Heads would roll."
Literally.
I am sorry I took so long on this!
"But you don't seem to want to hurt me," he points out earnestly. "You've tried to talk to me about what I think and why and you try to make me think about other options. That's why you're a friend to me. Most of the people I know are afraid of what I might do and keep an eye on me to make sure I'm not going to use blood magic or start summoning demons while they're not looking. But you haven't done anything like that."
Jowan reaches up absently to rub the back of his neck in a somewhat self-conscious gesture.
"Other people have locked me away my whole life or had me tortured for what I am and what they'd thought I'd done... You're one of the only people I've known who seemed to think that wasn't right. That maybe I shouldn't be afraid of what I am. Is it really that bad if I think you might be right?"
omg you're totally okay!
His hand darts out in an attempt to grab Jowan's arm.
He radiates danger until- until. There's that one word, one phrase. Tortured for what I am. It hits close to home in an abrupt way like someone has splashed water at him. A few decades ago in a small cage, endless 'experiments'-- He's tortured other people like it was nothing, and yet. He breathes in sharp, turning abruptly away from Jowan, releasing his arm as the darkness and the teeth start to go away. At the end of the day, he knows Elena will be coming back, and he will love her how ever she comes back and she will come back.
Otherwise he will kill everyone until someone finds a way to send him home or kill him over five times in retaliation. He shakes briefly, voice low.
"...no, it's not bad."
tell that to dw keeping these notifs for so long lmao

That was...
That was Bonnie's coffee. Sigh.
"What the--" Curls whirl as Bonnie turns and ah, okay. Of course. "Damon, what the hell?"
When does a common phrase become a catch phrase?
no subject
It's a question while completely ignoring the anger or surprise or the fact that he messed up her coffee because this is a Damon (all one track mind and violence and anger). It's a question, but it is also an answer to her question- catch phrase. Elena is missing. Her stuff is in her room, but he has no idea where she is. He's been looking for awhile, and yes, he knows this probably means she was sent back to Mystic Falls. It doesn't calm him down a lot, because he has some inkling of what she will go through (and a larger sense of dread that their future is a whole lot worse than any of them can imagine.
Call it a hunch).

Past Damon, down the hall where she'd intended to go anyway, and into the door of the magic studies room. If Damon follows, he'll find the room empty but for Bonnie. Her bag strewn across the floor, Bonnie kneels aside it.
"Damon, come on!" Get in here and help her unfold this GIANT map of the mansion.
no subject
He promised himself- He promised she would never get hurt like that again. He put her in the hospital while he wasn't around to stop it.
Damon steps in the rest of the way, raising an eyebrow at the sight of the giant whatever the hell it is, but he's reaching to unfold it too... and staring. "...what-" He makes a face of confusion because he has no idea what the hell this even is for a good thirty seconds. "Who taught you how to draw a map? A four year old with a short attention span and a crayon?"
no subject
"Do you know how big this place is? Keep unfolding."
Her words snap atop the crinkle and crunch of paper that just. Keeps. Unfolding. Seriously, Bonnie, the hallways should not be twice as wide as the kitchen. She really is the worst. She leaves the rest of the unfolding to Damon, and crab walks to the nearest spate of drawers to find the next ingredient.
"Besides, it doesn't need to be perfect. It's ... symbolic, mostly."
no subject
It's the difference between thinking she's been taken by Klaus (whatever the hell people might say about the future, about how those goals have changed which is hard to imagine when the ancient vampire has been wanting this for so damn long). He still looks wholly unimpressed by the map, but he sits forward.
"Crack down on this symbolism then, squiggly, uneven lines and all. Tell me what you need."
Legit anything... he's desperate and made a huge mess.

This is one of those moments when the prey sits still and wonders if the predator will stomp past without noticing he's there.

It doesn't help that he was nearly killed by a slayer for no apparent reason moments before Elena was taken out of thin air.
His gaze narrows as it lands on Victor in a corner (one of the people who Elena is closest to, someone Damon knows very little about since he doubts fiction is entirely accurate given Twilight says vampires sparkle), and he zooms over to him, vamp speed and all. There's no trying to hide what he is at the moment. He doesn't care about that. "Where's Elena?"
/Batman voiceno subject
He should really... go. The self-preservation instinct twinging in the back of his mind and making him stiffen in his seat informs him that would be the prudent course of action.
Except he doesn't quite get that far. He barely has time to think the thought before their stares lock and suddenly Damon is right there, skipping the distance with inhuman speed. It's not the strangest thing Victor's witnessed in Wonderland, but the unexpectedness of it has him looking at Damon with alarm like he's afraid the other's about to flip the chair over with him still in it.
"I haven't seen her today." Much to his eternal remorse, he's used to being loomed over with the promise of being shaken like a rag doll if he doesn't speak quickly, so he doesn't stumble over his answer too badly.
no subject
"When did you last see her?"
His voice is sharp.
He considers using compulsion, wonders if Elena wouldn't have protected him already from it since she is so close to him.
Would she have started him on it when Damon arrived or when Klaus did? He tries to tell himself it doesn't matter (what the answer is. he's a monster, she's learned that about him, he's shown her when he's been at his worst, at his most hurt as if that's ever an excuse for the terrible shit he has done. to her. to others.)
no subject
Damon's unnatural abilities thankfully don't scatter his wits and prevent him from finding his voice. He's able to get out, "Two days ago" with only a minor quaver to betray him.
His sense is that if he doesn't answer, Damon will get it out of him one way or the other. Anger and urgency flare in his eyes like a fever.
"Why? What's happened?"
no subject
He's a monster. He's fangs and blood and violence. It's easier being the bad guy.)
He hears the truth in the words, the minor quaver which tells him that Victor is aware of the danger in this situation.
Good, he thinks.
"She's missing." As if that somehow gives him the right to behave the way that he does (it doesn't, but no one can expect more of a monster).

"...Where's Elena?"
Has she seen her?
Has her brother seen her?

"I haven't seen her."

"When was the last time that you did?"
no subject
Vaguely. She doesn't spend much time with Elena as a rule - more with Bonnie - but she's been neglecting most of her friendships in terms of getting her brother settled in an unmurderous fashion.
"You do realize that people disappear from Wonderland all the time."
