Summary: Could it be that you (GASP!) don't want to be here? Do you maybe want to make like a tree and... leaf? Then how about you do the next best thing, and come to the woods to party! The Story:

Beginning on September 7th, colourful ribbons will hang from several trees by the forest. Whoever follows their path will be guided deeper, right to the scene of a forest party.

Wooden benches, swings in all shapes and sizes, tree trunks, and other arrangements give plenty of opportunities to sit together. Tree houses and tents provide shelter, and come nightfall the festivities will light up for you.

Campfires provide additional light and warmth and a great place for ghost stories. Camping coolers store more than smores, and all around you nature twists and turns to give you room to dance to the music, to wander in the quiet, and to simply have a good time!

(...Are you the curiously perceptive, or the perceptively curious sort? If so, then you might also notice the small bird sitting on a branch nearby.)

[They told the human it was exhausting work to maintain this kind of thing, and they weren't lying. The familiar wave of fatigue washes over them, but they crack their brother a lazy grin for show.]

I've heard of making like a tree and leafing, but this is just ridiculous.

Chara!! Stop!! [ he's laughing a little, but also stomping his foot. Emphasis on the stomping!! Less on the laughing. Because this is serious! And the puns are seriously bad! ]

I, the Absolute God of Hyperdeath, will not allow you to continue your human antics!! As the defender of Snowdin, I will also protect this...place!

[ he stops, leaning toward Chara with his hand shielding his words from being seen by strangers. Green eyes watch Chara curiously. ]

But, uh, where is this place exactly?

[Luckily for Asriel, the puns stop the same moment that he asks that question. Chara's expression grows watchful as they reply.]

Someplace called Wonderland. Don't ask me how we got here. I just know there's way more people here than...

[Than home or anywhere they've been, for that matter. Mostly they're just pleased that someone they know is here, and from a world they understand. And they can't even believe that's a thought they had. Ugh.]

Wonderland? Isn't that in a book that Mom's read to us before? [ his arms cross and he looks at the trees. He suddenly grins. ]

But never fear, poor human! I will figure out where we are and get us to safety!! [ he adjusts his majestic rainbow scarf! WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!! ] This problem is nothing that a god can't handle!!

Oh merciful, wise deity, what would we do without you?

[Their grin is easy, and even if their words are teasing, their tone is warm and undeniably fond.]

But yes, I think it is. This has many more differences compared to the book I know, though. For instance, I don't remember Wonderland having quite so many treehouses.

[Not that they mind. Almost absentmindedly, Chara extracts a bar of s'mores chocolate from their pocket and starts snacking.]

An excellent question! [ he preens quite proudly. ] I don't know what you'd do!! Probably be sad forever, because you'd be missing out on such a cool and awesome deity!

[ he nods to confirm. Yep! Absolute truth. A+. They mention the tree houses and he thinks back to before they got their little house in Snowdin. Oh, how he begged his mama for a tree house. ]

D'you think people live in the trees? I haven't seen anyone yet.

[cter]

[Oh, they know exactly what they'd do without him. And it doesn't bode well to imagine it. So they don't. At all!]

I've seen humans, but that's all. No monsters. Yet, anyway.

[Do they need to mention Toriel? No, no they do not. She's not their Mom, not in the way they know. So it doesn't matter. They can spare him the pain ONLY NOT]

You've...seen humans?! You're recruiting other humans for your side?! [ SHOCK.........he glares playfully! ]

You can bring as many humans as you want, Chara!! I'll still be undefeatable!

[ HOWS THAT BURN (??) FEEL? he looks pretty proud of himself... ]

[It's nice of him to think so. Very...optimistic of him, honestly. Their smile is ridged with uncertainty, a mildly indulgent thing.]

Oh, I dunno, Rei. I think I like our war playing out just between the two of us. Can't let Snowdin get to crowded, you know?

You're probably right. [ he breathes out a very small sigh of relief. Chara's always been pretty hardy. He can't imagine an army of them... ]

Well, we're definitely the captains-- [ he stomps his foot again!! ] --and don't call me that!!

[cter]

[Chara snickers, but obliges. Winding him up is always its own fun, but they don't ever want to overstep their limits.]

Only captains? Surely a god should have a much more grandiose title. Like, um...Overlord? Monarch?

Oh! [ his eyes widen as he thinks about it. ]

We can be Ultra Overlord Monarch Captains!

[ as if Chara could overstep a limit. Asriel seems very excited! WHAT A GRAND TITLE.... ]

We'll rule Snowdin with an iron fist! Or...paw. There'll be a general iron theme.

[See, monsters are much preferred to humans. Monsters are made of love and compassion. Good things. Things that wouldn't turn around and make you suffer for expressing the slightest weakness.]

Yeah!! We'll have a million subjects! And cookies for dinner!!

[ the important things. He looks so pleased with himself. ]

[Chara slips a fresh bar of chocolate from their pocket (what? look, a stash of the stuff just sitting there and you expect them to not just take it?) and tosses it at him.]

We can do better than that.

[ Asriel fumbles with the chocolate that's tossed his way, juggling it clumsily for a few seconds, and then peeking at it. Chara's chocolate....is sweet. Ultra sweet. He takes a piece of it and his lips wiggle and purse a bit like he's trying to regain feeling in his mouth. ]

M-maybe cake? Chocolate cake? Maybe a castle made out of cake?! [ despite it being really, really sweet, he pops another piece of chocolate in his mouth. Second piece is always better than the first piece. ]

[cter]

[Chara grins and unpeels their own bar, munching on it contentedly.]

Way I see it, we've got everything we need right here. We've got our castle, [they indicate the nearest tree house with a wave of a gloved hand,] we've got our dinner, [and they waggle the bar in their hand with a smirk.]

And, [they add in a conspiratorial whisper,] I'm pretty sure I spotted a few bags of marshmallows with the rest of the chocolate.
