[CLOSED] Stepping up to indicate,
Who: Angel & Cordelia Chase
Where: Fourth floor, Angel Investigations.
When: 10/20, afternoon.
Rating: PG
Summary: Angel reminds himself that time and second chances are too precious to waste.
The Story:
[Some days, Angel could almost bring himself to forget that they weren't home. Days like today, where he could sit behind his desk with an open book and glance out towards the lobby, knowing he'd see Cordelia there reading a magazine or having coffee at the front counter, and it was almost like nothing had changed. It never lasted, but those fleeting moments meant something, reminded him of a better time until the feeling that things were too quiet overwhelmed him and he remembered that there should have been more people in the office than just them. The friends he'd made in Wonderland certainly meant something, too, but there was no denying that the Angel Investigations here was just a copy. No hotel attached to the lobby, no found family working together inside its walls.
A lot had happened since Cordelia's return to Wonderland, too much of it too heavy for him to want to take the time to address. Quiet days like these seemed harder to come by lately, but maybe-- maybe it was time to talk. He'd been especially quiet since Faith's recent death, temporary though it had been. He'd been more withdrawn than those closest to him knew him to be, but he needed to fight the urge to pull away. Keeping to himself meant that he was wasting time that was far too precious to throw away.
Closing his book, he sets it down atop his desk before heading out to the lobby, catching hold of the doorway with one hand as he leans through it.]
Cordy? You busy?
