as we drifted towards the storm
it's enough to let her know that it is important, that it matters.]
You're welcome.
[she relaxes and then smiles softly but genuinely when katherine adds one for her to read too should she ever need it. and she's sure she will because despite how wonderful this place is in comparison to where she's from, her home still follows her. it's still a part of her, and this place has its own events which will shake it all up.]
I will. I think you're doing really good at this friend thing. [for the record.]
as we drifted towards the storm
Sorry. [ she tries to pull the smile from her face, but the amused curve lingers there. despite folding her arms against her chest and trying to press her lips into a line, she still fails in doing so. ] That's just not something anyone would ever attribute to me. I'll have to put that in my jar. Do you carry around pen and paper wherever you go for this?
as we drifted towards the storm
Well. ...I'm an anyone, and I'm attributing it to you. [so there. then she follows it up with a little smirk as she taps on the top of the jar. it's also what she wrote on that rolled up sheet of paper for katherine to read later since it definitely needs some repetition.]
No, I think you just remember to put it in at the end of the day so try to put it somewhere you'll look before you go to sleep.
as we drifted towards the storm
[ she's not simply just anyone. though it's nitpicky of her, katherine always views that word to mean someone who's faceless and replaceable, much like the people she's often characterised as using as pawns. mason lockwood had been a warm person, someone who had a sense of humour she appreciated and a roughness she had been attracted to, but ultimately the voices that often try to forge her into the evil shape that's become katherine pierce's reputation amongst some people has left her surmising their relationship to be less than what it was. ]
[ clementine's someone. katherine learned long ago that to be labelled as such is dangerous. ]
[ the appearance of her stubbornness has katherine conceding. she looks to the jar, expression thoughtful, as she tries to ensure she gets this all memorised properly. ] And then I open it and read it when I need it? Or is there an Open Jar Day that I know nothing of yet?
as we drifted towards the storm
I think it's just opening up and reading what's inside when you need to, when you want to.
It's for you so you get to set the rules.
[even if that means it's easier for katherine to have a specific day to do so on. she just wants her to have the jar so she can- so she can remember what she is living for in wonderland, so she can gain hope when it gets very dark, because it does get very dark sometimes.
they both know that very well. she leans forward then, resting her hand against katherine's arm in reassurance, in comfort, in a thanks too... that she took the gift seriously. she didn't have to. god knows neither of them are sentimental, but.]
as we drifted towards the storm
[ katherine smiles; it feels a little odd, being sincere or even sentimental. she feels as though a part of her is on display, a portion of katherine pierce that she hides away and lets others believe was never there in the first place. placing her hand on clementine's, she takes in a deep breath, steels herself, and doesn't let those survival instincts of hers kick in as she feels a little out of sorts. ]
Are you hungry? I think the closet can make us a little snack if you are. It's strangely good at giving me the chocolates I want.
as we drifted towards the storm
[clementine has a renewed interest in food after not having it for as long as she did. there's no scrambling for it in wonderland. it's available in any closet, whatever she could want. she thinks it, and it's there. so she likes to introduce herself to new food too, because when she gets sent back, she won't have that chance anymore.
she smiles too from where she sits, watching her, unaware of any battle that might be going on inside of katherine right now. she admires her so much.
she understands her (or believes she does) and that's important too since clementine doesn't always feel like she fits in with most people.]
as we drifted towards the storm
[ once upon a time she had been a simple girl who enjoyed simple things. some things never actually do change over five hundred years. ]
I like the plain kind, especially after you've left it out in the heat for a very long time.. [ she looks to clementine and smiles, rolling her eyes at herself. ] I know, it's boring, but you can never go wrong with the original.
as we drifted towards the storm
[that's what matters. clementine moves to the closet right along side her. when she first ended up here, she ordered up all the things she could remember that she once liked. they were chicken nuggets and cookies, and she didn't even finish it all, but it made her happy.
the food tasted even better than she remembered.]
Sometimes the really fancy stuff is too fancy anyway. Ends up tasting shitty. Like people eat like snail and stuff when they're really fancy right? [bleh]
