The Story:

[Pretty much anywhere on the mansion grounds, 12/07]

[So hell...that happened. All right. That actually wasn't so bad all things considered. Okay, it was bad, but it wasn't as bad as it could've been. She'd been able to keep her wits about her, she had Stone Free still, nobody she knew died or at least she doesn't think so. So all in all, she's not going to let it get to her.

So today, she'll be hanging around outside. She doesn't make an announcement about it like last time, she's not really too pissed off about things, and it's nice, okay? With everything going on back home, there wasn't a lot of time to just kind of relax and hang around, so it's something she goes out of her way to do in Wonderland.

She's not really planning to get involved in anything, but if somebody wants to say hi, she's more than fine with talking to them for a while.]

[For Kanji, 12/07]

[At some point on the same day, she'll call Kanji out here. She can't spend all day doing nothing. Okay, yes, actually, she can, but there's something she's been wanting to do. And since there's no giant messes going on, she doesn't have memory tampering to gripe about, none of that crap, so this is the best time.]

All right, so this Persona of yours. Let's see it.

[Maybe there's a better way to go about these things, but if there is Jolyne doesn't know it.]

You said he's more of an outside guy, right?

[For Souji 12/08]

[The next day, Jolyne's making time to head for the diner and look for Souji. She owes him a conversation and has for a while actually, so this seems like a good time. It's not that she's avoiding him or doing this, she knows she's been putting it off. It's just that offering to talk about her world is so much easier than actually doing it.]

If you're free, do you have a minute? Uh, actually maybe a few of them, this could take a while.

[It could definitely take a while. Count on that one.]

I don't think he actually knew what it was. Just that my family wanted me to have it. If he'd known, he probably wouldn't have given it to me.

[At least that's her thoughts on the matter.]

So it was your family who wanted you to have it. Your dad?

[uncoils]

Yeah. He didn't want me to have one. Or be involved in this shit at all.

[She can't help but frown about this. She knows why her dad did what he did and never showed up for...literally everything in her life for the most part. But it was still shitty, and it still hurt.]

But at that point, it's not like he really had a choice. I'm sentenced to prison with two Stand users who want my ass dead, I'd need a way to survive until he got there.

Why did they want you dead?

[He'd like to say her world seems overly complicated, but he really doesn't have room for that. His world wasn't exactly simple - at least not for the last year.]

[uncoils]

Uh, they kind of want my whole family dead because of that thing with dad and the vampire, and...I don't know, come to think of it, nobody came after Josuke so I don't really get that part either.

[Or her mom...as far as she knows. But that's not something she wants to think about.]

[eatsyourscience]

Do you know if things turn out alright?

[He's not sure if she's at the end of her story or not.]

[She'll just stare at her glass of water for a while, suddenly wishing she hadn't been joking about that whole clean out the bar thing.]

I don't want to talk about that.

[Souji's silent for a moment, then nods.]

Alright.

[He can respect that.]

Can I get anything for you?

[Give her a minute to think, maybe.]

Just give me a sec.

[She'll just try and push those thoughts away...semisuccessfully. They're always going to be there, which is going to suck, but she knows how to not focus on them.]

I'll be fine. So what else do you want to know?

I've got nothing else right now.

[A beat.]

Is there anything you want to know about my world?

[uncoils]

Yeah, why the hell are there Shadows inside a TV to begin with? That's weird.

[eatsyourscience]

[He can't help smiling to himself at how quickly she shifted gears.]

It's another dimension. We just used TVs to get there.

[uncoils]

So was it like on TV and stuff where you jump inside the show, but now there's Shadows or what?

[She has so many questions.]

It was more like the TV was a door between the two places. We used it to go back and forth.

[Of course, what was inside wasn't entirely divorced from television, but it wasn't like they were inside a TV show.]

[uncoils]

That's so weird.

[Says the person with a punchghost created by a magical arrow.]

Yeah. It's one of those things you have to suspend disbelief for.

[uncoils]

On the plus side, it probably doesn't have a dumb name and you don't have to deal with some jerk talking about how it's his ability.

[Because she got so tired of that.]

I'm not sure "TV world" is that imaginative, but it's not dumb, no.

[uncoils]

In my world, it'd probably be called something like [57 Channels] or [Idiot Box], so I don't know, I think TV World is fine.

[eatsyourscience]

[He chuckles.]

That's true. It could be worse.

[uncoils]

You have no idea, go down to the library sometime and grab something you think your mom or dad would listen to. I guarantee you there's a Stand named after it, and either me or Josuke probably had to deal with it.

[Or maybe not because Araki's created only one Stand named after a Japanese song, but it's not like Jolyne knows that.]

That's pretty bad, yeah.

It's the worst. Because if you get killed by it, it's like wow, I got killed by dadrock, and do you know how embarrassing that sounds?

[eatsyourscience]

If you're dead, you won't have to worry about it for long, at least.

[But that is definitely ridiculous.]

Back home, sure. But here, nah, I stick my foot in my mouth so often, everyone would know.
