[Punctuality in planning is important: the ballroom itself will only be ready for guests at exactly 8 o'clock, bedecked in glittering golds and the red-green of Christmas' vestiges, still clinging to the old year. Dining tables surround a central dance floor, bars and buffets dot the edges of the room and both holly and mistletoe are expressed liberally through the interior.

Mingle, dance, eat and be merry! The New Year will come in at midnight - the band will play and the drinks will flow for long after.]

[ Andrea can't remember the last time she got dressed up like this, and she certainly never thought she'd have reason to again, even in Wonderland, but this is actually pretty nice, and she's enjoying her little black dress. What's nicer, though, is seeing Michonne in a dress. ]

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing you dressed like this everyday.

[ She smirks at Michonne, though she knows full well that would never happen, and she's completely fine with that. ]

Yeah, you're not the only one appreciating someone in a dress.

[ Michonne pulls her closer for a second, hand on Andrea's hip. ]

If you wanted to see me in fancy dresses, all you had to do was ask.

[ Her willingness to display even a little affection in public is honestly a turn-on, and Andrea smiles happily. ]

I like this dress, don't get me wrong, but you look good in anything.

Well, I feel better in nothing, so soon as this party winds down, I'm counting on you to help me out of it.

[ As one of the hosts she doesn't particularly feel like she can duck out early, but that just gives her something to look forward to later. ]

I guess I could. [ She can't help teasing a little. ] I'm pretty good at it. Any other requests when we get out of here?

Champagne in bed.

[ She gives an innocent shrug, though there's an undeniable sparkle in her eyes. ]

I'm feeling whimsical.

[ There's a knowing little smirk from Andrea in response. ]

I can't remember the last time I rang in the new year with champagne. I don't think we need glasses, though.

[ Somehow she just loves the idea of passing the bottle back and forth naked in bed. ]

Why bother? Just a naked glass we don't need.

[ Michonne dances a little closer, eyes shutting as her forehead presses against Andrea's forehead. ]

Thanks for comin' back. For being here for this.

It'll be a good year. I can feel it.

[ Even being out in the open like this, Andrea doesn't care who sees them. They might as well be alone.

I feel like next thing that happens, we just hide ourselves away somewhere. Let everyone fend for themselves.

[ Of course, that's not really Michonne's deal, but still. It's nice to pretend they could just hide away and know they're safe. ]

I really don't want to deal with alternate memories that put us against each other again.

[ That was pretty damn painful. ]

Hell no. But, you know what was great once? Entire place turned into a spa. Nothing bad about it. Wouldn't mind that again.

[ She pauses for a second. ]

Carl was here for that one.

[justmakeroom]

I'd like to petition to have that event reoccur. Every week, maybe.

[ She smiles softly, pressing closer. ]

I wish all our people were here. Safe. [ Hearing Carl's name brings that thought up. ]

[ She holds Andrea a little bit tighter, turning her head in against her neck and kissing that strong, steady pulse. ]

[ Michonne asks it in a whisper, a hint of suggestion in her voice. ]
