[Punctuality in planning is important: the ballroom itself will only be ready for guests at exactly 8 o'clock, bedecked in glittering golds and the red-green of Christmas' vestiges, still clinging to the old year. Dining tables surround a central dance floor, bars and buffets dot the edges of the room and both holly and mistletoe are expressed liberally through the interior.

Mingle, dance, eat and be merry! The New Year will come in at midnight - the band will play and the drinks will flow for long after.]

Definitely not. [People here are so unfamiliar with zombies that it makes Georgia uncomfortable sometimes. So many habits died or were formed during the Rising that even though most people are only 20 or so years behind her and Shaun, it feels like an entire lifetime.

Which, in a way, it is. Literally the length of George's lifetime.]

There'd be a lot more guns if everyone had zombies.

I hate guns. [And because everyone makes a face like she's possibly crazy when she says that to a zombie-person.] I think they're cheating.

[Which in Rose's defense, they kind of were? You only used a gun on a Human, Dhampir or Moroi and they always made more mess than was necessary.]

They're also pretty useless where I'm from.

[You can't see it behind her sunglasses, but Georgia's rolling her eyes. Pre-Rising people. No wonder the death tolls were so high. Georgia doesn't love guns, but they sure as fuck are necessary for her to do her job.]

I think being able to bite people and turn them into zombies like yourself is cheating, but that's never stopped them. Guns, on the other hand, do. They're just about the only thing.

If they're the most efficient way to kill them then, yeah I guess. [Lifting her shoulders in a shrug.] But where I'm from, bullets only do damage to people like me.
