⚡ OPEN They're locking up the sun
And she’s doing all right... until she trips over what’s left of a Roman Legionnaire, sprawling forward on the ground. Panicked, she twists and scrambles backwards frantically, hand closing around the hilt of a sword. Probably belonging to the Legionnaire she just tripped over.
She doesn’t know what comes over her, or where it comes from, but the knowledge of how to use that sword washes over her, memories flickering through her head –
”Like this,” a familiar, fond voice murmurs in her ear, arms coming around her to correct her stance, how she’s holding the sword in her hands. Laughing softly she leans back into his embrace.
“I think you only offered to teach me swordplay to get close to me, Lord Knight,” she teases gently. It gives them a proper reason to spend time together, which is why he suggested it. They were close long before that, though. But he’s her knight, and the man she loves more than anything. She’s allowed to tease him.
“You disapprove, love?”
“On the contrary. I love the idea. And you.” She turns, pressing a long, lingering kiss to her lover’s lips.
Shock rolls through her as she sees the face of the man standing behind her, the man instructing her on the art of sword fighting in the memory. Cisco. It’s Cisco. But even as the shock takes her breath away she’s moving, rising to her feet and as the first undead pygmy lunges at her she slashes at it, cutting it aside as easily as breathing. And the next, and the one after that. Until they’re dealt with and she’s standing there, stunned.
“What the hell?”
[⚡ CLOSED: for Kenzi] Like I did way back when
Laughter, grabbing tightly to someone’s hand – to her sister’s hand – as they slip out of the castle and into town, disguised as simple townsfolk. They do things like this more often than they should, and their parents disapprove... when they find out. If they find out. Jessamine and her sister are very good at this. “I love you, sister-mine,” she murmurs softly.
She remembers that, remembers the laughter and the way her sister had hugged her, then. Sneaking into the town with no one the wiser and getting into trouble and running away to safety. She remembers all of it like it actually happened.
[⚡ CLOSED: for Cisco] Brighter than the sun when it used to blind me
She has to find him; they’re under attack and she cannot find her knight. They became separated in the battle and she has to find him. She cannot lose him. Gods she cannot lose him. Panicked and desperate, she runs, racing through the halls searching for her lover, the sword he’d gifted her clutched tightly in her hand.
