Excuse me, but I'm having a spot of trouble with the character creation bit. [He points to his character sheet. He's going to play a female elven bard, but his character's stats are a bit out of sorts.]

I read that the character's... Erm, race changes the stats a bit. How does this apply for elves?

Hm? There are three types of elves here? I don't see much of a difference, other than their looks.

[mutter grumble. and oh look, what a shit initiative roll. just perfect. maybe someone will one shot the stupid thing before he has to go up.] Am I the only one in this party who didn't make Wisdom his dump stat?

so if i crit on spellcasting for charm monster, does that mean it's charmed for life? does that mean i have a pet displacer beast now? because i checked the bestiary and i am so down for having an angry, teleporting pet tentacle cat, if that's what this means.

[So Fiddleford crit failed at least once at some point this evening trying to cast a spell to inflict a status ailment on a monster to benefit everyone else, so in a slight fit of frustration after somehow failing a second time (darn habit of hands shaking too much, you are the bane of our existence), his next turn involves rolling to just hit the dang thing with his bard's musical instrument in retaliation.
