[It's not as though Freya has an issue with small spaces. She would spend decades on end sleeping in coffins between her jaunts in the world, and they've never managed to scare her before. But this particular instance, with the pressure of the water above them and the vacuum seal on the door are making her incredibly nervous.

She hasn't died since she knew she would come back. And even if she could come back here in Wonderland, she wasn't looking forward to going through it, regardless.

She keeps to the edge of the room, examining it almost as though she would find some kind of solution in the walls, before she manages to glance back at her "roommate" over her shoulder.]

If I didn't know enough about Wonderland to consider this personal, I would think this was a rather extreme way to force two people to discuss their issues.

[walkingheroin]

[Lucifer is taking a short personal break as he waits for another call for help. He seems completely at ease in the room, leaning back on a couch with his feet up as his eyes follow Freya around the room.]

I didn't realize we had to do anything. [His eyebrows lift at her.] Or that we still had issues to discuss.

[deathlessness]

[She gives a small shrug as she makes her way closer.]

If we do, I figured now was the time. Things had been ... tenuous as of late.

[Not that they need to discuss what happened with Klaus, but she wants to be sure that Lucifer is still her friend, and that there are no hard feelings for her protecting him.]

Well, if you're going to verbally scold me, I've already received that lashing from your little therapist friend, so you can save your breath.

[Thinking about the entire ordeal makes him weary, not to mention feel things that make him uncomfortable in general.]

[deathlessness]

[Her eyebrows go up.]

I wasn't going to scold. I was more concerned there were still sore feelings after my ... intervention.

[After all, while Lucifer may have been the offending party to some, she knows her brother, and she knows that he was not quite a victim either.]

[walkingheroin]

Luckily, I hold very few intense grudges and you keeping me from ripping apart your brother isn't one of them.

[He forces himself to sit up, gesturing for her to feel free to sit next to him.]

For what it's worth, information has been given to me that inclines me to trust that things are more complicated than I was originally led to believe.

[deathlessness]

[She takes a deep breath, before nodding and moving to take the seat offered. She'll take him at his word, as Lucifer has never really struck her as the manipulative sort. Self-involved, maybe, but not with cruel intentions.]

Things with my family are always complicated, unfortunately. We've made a lot of mistakes over the course of our long lives.

Believe me, I'm quite familiar with complicated family dynamics.

[Understatement of the century. If anyone has a more fucked up family than the Mikaelsons, it would be Lucifer's. They might still beat him, however.]

[deathlessness]

[She nods in agreement.]

And in truth, I've only had mine for a little over a year now. I do not wish to lose them for anything.

[Which is a large part of the reason why she's done the things she's done.]

Whereas in my case, I'd rather like to leave them all behind if they'd only do the same for me.

It looks like we've both have had difficulty getting what we want.

[deathlessness]

[She nods, sighing softly as she leans back in her seat more.]

But that is the way the world works, isn't it? Anything worth having you must struggle to keep.

[walkingheroin]

Yes, but why is that? It seems a bit unfair, doesn't it?

[deathlessness]

Unfair, maybe.

[She pauses for a moment, before considering her words carefully before she speaks.]

But you value it more. When you have to work hard to keep something, it makes it harder to take it for granted. If you didn't care so much for it, then you would have stopped trying long ago.

[walkingheroin]

But what do you lose in the process? What is to assure you that you'll ever get what you actually want? The things that people are willing to do to get to that place, to keep what they think they deserve.

[deathlessness]

I think that is one of the things that every human struggles with. How far are they willing to go to keep what they want or do what they believe is right? Some go farther than others, are more willing to sacrifice lives if it means they get what they want.

[She looks down at her hands after a moment.]

I can't even say I'm innocent of that. Certain lines became meaningless to me a long time ago when I realized that I was the only one who was holding myself to any kind of moral standard - at least, in terms of the woman I was connected to.

We all have our burdens to bear, I suppose. It's not for me to tell others how they should carry them.

[It was simply his job to judge and punish depending on their choices. And now he's second-guessing even that.]

Humanity has decidedly rubbed off on me.

[deathlessness]

[She smirks a bit at that, because it's touch and go whether she considers herself human most days.]

They're surprisingly good at that. Forcing you to adjust your perspective, I mean. Sometimes having power can corrupt more than you realize, especially when you've lived with it for a long time.

They just care about the strangest things at times. It's both maddening and fascinating.

I think the same can be said of anyone, really. Our priorities in life are what defines us - no two people will be the same.
