Summary: Science + metahuman powers = ?????? ; AKA: Fitz and Cisco try to break a hole through Wonderland's barriers in their attempts to reach another dimension, but the experiment has gone sideways! Mirror Cisco is on the loose in the mansion and he's determined to wreck his Real's life in the most disastrous ways possible and will be trying to fool people when and where he can. WHO will discover this slippery switch?! How much chaos will M!Cisco leave behind?!

Jesse’s been berating herself ever since having her suspicions confirmed. Cisco isn’t Cisco. He’s his mirror. It had taken her longer than she liked to catch on (anything longer than right away is too long, because Cisco’s in trouble), and no matter the reasons behind it... the fact of the matter is that Cisco is trapped on the mirror side. Has been since the experiment gone awry.

She’s worried. She doesn’t know what hell he’s going through, but it can’t be good. They need to get him back. Please let him be okay.

Maybe there’s something she can design, something that will work to force Mirror’s back to the other side. Other than finding a reflective surface and making mirror!Cisco look at it. Or however that works. Keeping herself busy will be good, at least. There has to be something she can do.

She needs to learn more about the Mirrors. She needs to learn everything about the Mirrors.

Opening the door to her lab, Jesse steps inside. And stops. Think of the devil, she supposes. He’s here. And she has to tread carefully.

He pauses when the door opens, much like a cat caught with the canary. She doesn’t move, doesn’t speak, isn’t instantly ranting and raving and flying off the handle. Maybe she doesn’t know. He isn’t sure what rock she must have been living under not to have heard the announcements by now, but...maybe he can use it to his advantage.

“Hey,” he greets her with a slight nod. “What’s up?” Casual. Like everything’s fine and he’s not who he really is.

She offers him a little smile, like she’s just distracted, like she totally doesn’t know that he’s not Cisco. She doesn’t know how long she’ll be able to do this. Pretend like everything’s fine, instead of tearing into him trying to figure out how to get her Cisco back. Or how long he’ll buy it. “Not much.”

Moving into the room like she’s comfortable with him, like everything’s fine, she totally doesn’t mind him being in her space, she indicates what he was ‘working on’ with a tilt of her head. “What are you working on? Can I help?”

"Nah, just making some adjustments," he shrugs a little. "No big." He's watching every move she makes, looking for any twitch or sign that gives away what she does or doesn't know. What kind of defensive move she might make. Waiting for the perfect opportunity to go for broke and get away from her, out of the lab.

She tilts her head, looking at him curiously. And as innocently as she can muster. Standing in his way out of the lab. The door has closed behind her, and she might have locked it without his noticing. Because if she can find something reflective in her lab, or at least keep him long enough to go GET something, maybe she can get Cisco back. It doesn’t matter that it might be dangerous.

He'd fooled her because she'd been distracted, because she hadn't paid enough attention. Not again.

And because she can’t help herself, because he’s not Cisco and he’s been pretending and she doesn’t even know if her friend is okay.... worry makes her a little careless. “Are you sure?” She indicates the thing he’s working on again, guileless save for the spark of... something in her eyes. “Because if you continue that way it’s going to explode right in your face.”

"It's fine, Jesse." He assures her, turning away from the desk and a little more toward her. He'd rather not have to do something big and obvious to hurt her if he could avoid it, simply because alerting anyone to his whereabouts right now would hardly be in his favor, but he's on too high of an alert to keep up a game for too long.

"What were you gonna work on?" Because 'what are you doing here?' is a little on the nose.

“Okay, good.” She shrugs a little, moving closer to him like she was totally just going to be working on a project at a table near him. Even though everything in her is telling her to get as far away as possible.

“I need to do some redesigns on a couple projects.” And completely FIX a third. But she’s not sure she’s quite ready to face the wolf bites in her telekinesis gauntlet. Not yet.

She moves closer and he can't decide if it's because she's bold or stupid. He finds it hard to believe she doesn't know, but she's still playing like she doesn't.

"Anything I can help with?" He asks, still trying to play casual. Everything in him wants this to end. She needs to leave.

“Sure!” she chirps, like he hasn’t played an integral role in hurting her friend, like she buys everything he’s been selling the past few days. She’s angry, and worried, and she needs to do something. Try and contact someone, while she tries to keep him here. So they can send him back.

So they can get Cisco back.

She has a few projects that letting the imposter near won’t hurt them too much; they won’t explode or hurt anything if he screws with them. So she guides him to one of those, a 3D holographic projection display that she’s been toying with. She gets this to work she’ll make a hand-held one.

The jovial tone is just a little too put-on for him to buy: She knows. Good, they can get this out of the way, then. As she turns to lead him over toward one of her projects, he doesn't hesitate to throw a blast of energy in her direction, knocking her into whatever the nearest hard surface may be.

"I don't have time for these games anymore, sweetheart."

She’s been waiting for him to make a move, waiting for him to get impatient or try to leave or SOMEthing, anything to bring the waiting game to a stop. Only she’s not quite ready for the blast of energy he throws at her, and it hits her full on, slamming her hard into a desk. The air goes rushing from her lungs and there’s going to be a whole lot of bruises. But after being mauled by a wolf she can take it.

“Too bad. Because if you think I’m letting you just walk away you’re dumber than I thought you were,” she retorts angrily, back on her feet and facing him. This is going to hurt but she doesn’t care. He got away with so much and if she’d been paying more attention, if she hadn’t gotten attacked by a wolf and nearly died she would have SEEN it. Been able to stop him.

Do something.

Maybe it says something about who he is as a person that seeing her in shock and in pain gives him a thrill, but it does.

"It's cute you think you have a choice," He smirks as she turns back to face him, all hard eyes and determined stance. He tosses his head to the side, an amused lilt in his voice now. "What do you think you're gonna do to stop me?" He asks, taking slow, calculated steps toward her. "You're just a dumb, weak, squishy, Real Thing."
