Summary: Attackers from other realms threaten the Asgardian palace and your very lives! This is where you fight or flee, the place for all your combat mingle needs.
The Story:

+ Day 3 : Rock Trolls and Ogres +



Rock Trolls and Ogres are strong, tough and surprisingly fast, with great muscular bulk. Their sight is keen, and they hunger for human flesh. Fortunately they are lacking in tactical skill, and few to none will manage to break through Asgard's protective barrier to enter the palace. ( x ) ( x )

+ Day 4 : Frost Giants +



The Forst Giants will scare off yesterday's attackers almost entirely, bringing a greater threat to the palace. They are faster and stronger still, and skilled in cryokinesis. One touch by their hand might freeze a warrior whole, if they don't stop the spread of cold on time. Several of their numbers will manage to break through Asgard's protective barrier to enter the palace. ( x )

+ Day 5 : Dark Elves +



The Dark Elves are the last and greatest threat to Asgard. They rely on stealth and deadly energy weapons, their strength and craftiness yet unparalleled. They are weak to iron, and any warrior would be lucky to discover this weakness on time. They infiltrate the palace from the caves, and nearly all of their numbers will attack from the inside. ( x )

Sorta. It was more that I was born with a connection to the Speed Force. No Speed Force, no speed, which is why I actually can try to throttle back to almost nothing. It's not easy, though. It wants to be used.

[Bart looks out towards the field of battle, thinking about it.]

My dad and his sister were the Tornado Twins, and my grandfather is the Flash. So while, yeah, there's something to it being in the family, it's more like being a conveniently placed lightning rod than anything you can test for in a lab. It's been tried.

Speed Force? I've never really heard about that before, but it sounds........speedy.

( What a great comment, Peter. He shakes his head distantly after a moment. )

Got it. I'm still trying to figure out how it is for other super powered people. I don't really have anyone else where I'm from. It's just me... and well, there was a giant lizard, but he was on the bad side.

( And Peter sort of created him. )

I got lucky. Robin and Superboy and I were the pretty much the same age when we got started, and hanging out just made sense.

[A pause.]

Not the brat who was accusing us all of being in league with Wonderland or whatever. There've been a few Robins. Five, if I remember right. The first Robin and his generation of sidekicks were the ones who got us younger people a way to step out from being in a mentor's shadow.

So you have people to hang out with who have been through it too?

( That is lucky. Peter didn't have that. He just abruptly had powers after poking into stuff he should have left alone. )

...sounds really complicated. Here I thought being the only one from my own world was hard, but no, that's- that's way more difficult and complicated.

Not the same thing, but teens in costumes, yeah. Except Wonderland played havoc with that. The three of us here all come from different times.

[He shrugs again.]

I almost envy Robin for being from before...everything.

Wonderland's really good at that. Takes people in from different universes who know versions of each other but not that exact version... or they take people in from drastically different points on the same timeline in a universe.

( Peter shakes his head with a faint smile. )

There's always the chance he could get sent back to experience the... everything.

I...can almost imagine. I am not looking forward to the day he finds out that one of the Flash's Rogues was responsible for one of the worst days of his life.

[Bart still feels guilty about that whole mess, even though there really hadn't been anything he could do. They hadn't even known Captain Boomerang was in Gotham until it had been too late.]

That's one of the downsides of having a lot of capes. The higher profile you get, the more people want to see you fall. And will go after anyone they think you're close to.

At least fights like this are straightforward.

( Peter frowns and nods, uncertain of what to say. It's definitely hard with different timelines, different- different everything. His shoulders tense, and he presses his back against the wall. )

Yeah, that does sound like it'd be rough. This is really straightforward, and it's not aimed after any one person.

So it's nice. We're all in the same boat, trying to fight against what's out there.

I'm just mostly glad to still have people I know. Even if they aren't exactly the way I remember them from home.

[Bart sighs, and starts to get up.]

That makes a huge difference when you have people you know.

( Or so Peter would guess. He doesn't really have that, but he also didn't really know all that many people back where he's from. )
