The puppy gets to go home
Who: Newt and YOU!
Where: Anywhere. Newt is running about touching rifts to try and get himself back to Wonderland each time it passes.
When: Duration of the event
Rating: PG will update if anything changes
Summary: The moment Newt finds himself in one moment of Hogwarts, even Hogwarts future, he will keep working to get there again. This leaves openings for so many moments in Hogwarts - as well as any other event you want to throw at him! Open for anything.
The Story:
The first time Newt sees one of the shimmering rips, he is hesitant. The last one like that he saw led to him seeing Tina executed. Because of him.
Yet Newt's own nature gets the better of him, and he can't resist moving closer. Not even realizing he's touched it until he finds himself standing in the middle of a very familiar classroom. Nothing seems to have changed in potions since he himself attended Hogwarts.
Laughing, he starts exploring a school he knows well, seeking out whatever changes their might be. Exploring the quidditch pitch on foot and with broom, the classrooms, even seeking out the Hufflepuff common room, delighting in a chance to be back at Hogwarts since he was kicked out.
Whenever he finds himself back in Wonderland though, Newt starts seeking out other of those rips, trying to find his way back to Hogwarts. It is taking the chance with whatever kinds of worlds and events he might experience, but that's worth it in his mind to find Hogwarts again.

"I would love to show you all that we can until it causes us to go back. To begin... you may have a wand on you. If you don't, we'll find something else to do. Oh! Perhaps I can show you the Quidditch pitch and flying."
no subject
"I still won't pass up the chance to see flying brooms."
no subject
Oh but he is brilliantly excited about all of this.
"Well then. Come along. Out to the pitch and we'll work on a few spells on our way." Newt gives a flick of his wand, the door at the end of the hall opening. "Come on then!"
no subject
"What kind of spells did you have in mind," he asks as he follows Newt down out the door.
no subject
"Magic is wonderful, but it can be dangerous. We'll try some of the basics, while seeing if Wonderland has managed the right brooms in this Hogwarts."
no subject
What Red doesn't know is that the core of his wand is made of White River Monster Spine
"Perhaps something simple, is floating simple?"
He can wait to see the brooms, at least for now.
no subject
"The motion is a flick and swish," he says even as he emulates that motion. "Then, as you do, you say Wingardium Leviosa."
no subject
"Wingardium Leviosa," and a flick and swish. Then there was a pen in the air, which promptly landed on the floor.

"I've always been a quick study. Though I imagine keeping things from plummeting to the ground is harder than getting them to float."
no subject
"You don't get your wand until you come here though, so even growing up around it, you want to try everything. Usually on one another."
no subject
Red can only imagine the line after the first spell gets working for most of the kids.
"Are wands issued like schoolbooks?"
no subject
He can't help but smile a bit at that, if only that it amuses him how spot on Raymond is.
"Actually while you're doing your shopping for such things, you go to Olivander's and your wand chooses you. He knows how to select the perfect wand for each wizard."
no subject
Red figures it's still a school, so some supplies had to be issued. Instead of textbooks and paper, wands make sense.
"So there are different wands? Do they do different things?"
no subject
Newt nods, pulling his out and up before them. "Each wand is made of a different wood, the cores are from different magical creatures, and each is chosen specifically for the wizards. It's possible to use another but it won't be as responsive as it is for the wizard it was designed for."
no subject
Red takes a closer look at Newt's wand. It looked just as simple as his own, but it clearly suited Newt somehow.
"So, mine would be specific to me..assuming Wonderland got that part right."
no subject
"If they're doing things as they would at Hogwarts, yes. Yours would be specific and unique from my own," he admits. "Each person is very specific to them. We have a store with a man who is skilled at matching the right wand to the right wizard or witch."
no subject
And certainly the strangest form of a teaching advisory that Red ever heard of. But it was a school that taught wizards.
"Do you ever find out why the wand he picks for a student is the right one?"
no subject
He glances at his wand. "Sadly, unless Wonderland has means, the only way I know to check what's inside is to break it."
