Uhm. Help?!( ooc | not necessary but feel free to prompt me with idk a holodeck setting or theme or word or whatever. otherwise, just poke a head in and i'll give you some sort of wacky shenanigans to "rescue" ray from! )
[ the dulcet sounds of a man in over his head float out of the room and into the hallway. he sounds more hesitant than panicked, with a dash of confused. he repeats his plea every so often, a little more exhausted and less amused depending how long it's been since he found himself in a predicament. ]
Anyone out there? Could use a hand!

He doesn't hesitate more than a heartbeat, before he takes a few hurried steps forwards to plant his foot on top of the 'spider' making a beeline towards the other man. Trapping it, but not crushing it, he looks up with both eyebrows raised.
Sometimes things aren't exactly what they seem.]
Squash it, or don't squash it?

[ the spider starts making a grinding noise, whirring into some kind of mechanical whine in protest, and the guilt slams into ray full force. ]
Wait, no! I think it's just scared, maybe...
[ he pushes himself up to close the space between them, frowning at this little predicament. he doesn't see the second spider-- bigger and lumbering up behind him. ]

This li'l guy is gonna be the least of our problems-- [Dan points out in a rush.]
Y' might wanna get movin'!

You've seen these things before?

Uhhh no, not exactly. Last time I saw somethin' like this it had a tail. An' pincers.
[Last time he saw something like this, it was a giant robotic scorpion. He lowers his weapon a fraction, then entirely as he moves his foot, grabbing the little squeaking thing up from underneath his shoe. Without crushing it, he tucks it gently against his palm to keep it from getting away.]
An' if it's anythin' like that, shooting it is just gonna piss it off.
