Who: Satoru and you! (plus one closed prompt)
Where: All over the Mansion
When: February 9-11
Rating: PG-13 maybe
Summary: Satoru’s an adult now and has no idea where he is. Fun times!
The Story:
Friday: Fifth floor, room 20 (closed)
When Satoru wakes up, it’s with a flurry of alarm. For one thing, he has no idea how he got to sleep in the first place. For another, he has no idea where he is. Did he blackout? This isn’t jail, he’s sure of that, but the last thing he remembers is the police showing up. He looks down at his hands and finds they aren’t covered in blood any longer. Was the whole thing some kind of dream? Or a hallucination?
After a couple moments of hesitation, during which he sits on his bed and stares dumbly around a room that looks like it belongs to an eleven-year-old, he gets up and ventures out into an obviously shared living area. There’s another door just to the side of the one he came out of, but he’s not going through it. Nope. Not with no idea what’s on the other side.
Friday: The Kitchen
With a vague idea now of where he is, Satoru has decided that checking the place out is an okay idea. It’s still hard to believe, and Kayo wasn’t exactly the most helpful kid he’s ever met--which isn’t really saying anything, since he’s met very few children since he stopped being one himself. He doesn’t remember her at all from when they were kids; all he knows about her is that she died. He’s not sure how much of what she said he actually believes, but some investigation might help his thoughts settle into place.
Finding the kitchen is the first good thing that’s happened to him since he woke up, and possibly the best thing that’s happened in the last few days he can remember. He sets about investigating the place. Maybe he can make something to eat. Something that isn’t pizza or curry. Though if he thinks about it, he wouldn’t mind eating his mom’s curry again and he stands still, staring into space, wondering if he will ever get to eat it again.
Saturday: The Grounds
Somehow, out of everything that’s been happening, the dinosaurs aren’t entirely a surprise. That doesn’t mean he’s going to get too close to them. He lingers around the fountain in the garden, just far enough away from the Mansion to have a good look around, and close enough that he can bolt for the door if he needs to.
Dinosaurs aside, he’s starting to realize the scope of this place. There are some people here who seem to know him and others who clearly don’t. He’s not sure whether that corroborates anything Kayo told him or not. It’s all still pretty unbelievable and the dinosaurs aren’t helping. He’s not entirely convinced this isn’t an elaborate hallucination and that his mother’s death wasn’t just the beginning of it. He has no idea what would cause him to be seeing something like this, but it’s got to be better than finding his mother with a knife in her side.
Hesitantly, he ventures away from the fountain and further into the gardens. He might as well look around some more.
Sunday: The Library
The longer he’s there, the more it seems like a good idea to do some research. He stumbles across a gigantic library sometime late on Saturday and he stays there for most of Sunday. No matter how much he wanders through the stacks, he can’t seem to find anything helpful, though. Nothing about Wonderland, anyway.
Eventually, he finds his way to one of the tables and sits down. Folding his arms on the table top, he puts his head down. None of this makes any sense. It might as well all be a dream. So if he goes to sleep, maybe he’ll wake up back in reality. It hasn’t worked the last two nights, but maybe it will this time.
(Throughout the event, Satoru will be wandering around the common areas of the Mansion. Feel free to run into him anywhere!
I'll match prose or brackets.Or apparently switch them like I did on Minato.)

Library
But when he saw his table, he saw someone there! Sleeping, perhaps? They didn't look too good if they were sleeping at a table. In the middle of the Library, no less. But Minato's books were under there, and it'd be troublesome if this person woke up and didn't know they were there and kicked one of them and hurt themselves doing so. And Minato didn't want that either.
Quietly, he padded over to the table, then carefully set his book on it. He crouched down and crawled underneath to try and rescue those other books, holding his breath as he did so.
no subject
Then they went under the table?
Sitting up, he leaned over to see some kid down there. He frowned a little. This one looked younger than Kayo. Satoru wasn't exactly good with kids.]
Hey. What are you doing?
[He at least succeeded in keeping his tone congenial. It wasn't accusatory or impatient. At least not yet.]
no subject
He stared some more before he sat down and bowed his head as best as he could, now worried since he obviously woke this person up. He could leave, he promised, though he didn't say it out loud.]
no subject
What's wrong?
no subject
Minato frowned a little too, setting his book back on the top of the pile.]
I woke you up.
[He was going to leave, he promised again, but he was torn because if this person was talking to him, he didn't want to just abandon the conversation either.]

.. well, she's a little kid. How is she going to cook? She just ends up staring around sadly, wondering how to solve that problem.
Until Satoru enters, anyway. The kid silently watches him for a few moments - almost hesitantly. She isn't supposed to talk to strangers, but since there's no one she knows here, maybe it's alright.. ]
.. Are you going to make something..?
no subject
Yeah. [A pause as he realizes why she's asking him that.] Are you hungry? I don't know how to make very many things.
replying with this account for the icons c:
I haven't had anything since I got here..
[ Her stomach even growls a little after she says that, as if to put emphasis on the fact she's pretty hungry by now. ]
And.. um, I don't know how to make anything at all.. [ Not to mention she's too small to even reach the countertops, which is an even bigger problem. ]
no subject
[What he can do is sandwiches because it's fast and doesn't involve the stove.]
Are you by yourself? There's no one here you know?
no subject
[ She does have a vague idea of the situation and what this place is, but.. you know. The idea of wandering into a different world is kind of hard for a kid to wrap their head around, so that's the best she can do. ]
Although.. I didn't want to be with oba-san anyway, so maybe it's a good thing..

Library
No matter how hard anything gets, books are always a stable part of his existence. He can get lost in them and forget all his troubles. His troubles currently being trapped in a strange world with no idea how he got there, of course.
He's still trying to get used to the...human-things, but when he comes across Satoru, he can't help but move a little closer. Was he dead? Sick? Were they supposed to sit like that. The unicorn foal moves to sit beside him, clearing his throat a little to announces his presence.
"Um. Are you okay?"
no subject
"I'm fine." He sits up again. "I'm just tired."
no subject
Of course, he realises he isn't entirely sure if that's what humans do. Maybe they sit out in the sun and get their energy like a plant? It's winter so it would make sense they'd be more tired, right?
"If...you actually do that. Do you do that? Sleep? I don't know a whole lot about your kind."
no subject
"Yeah, we sleep." He feels like he should sit down on the floor to talk to Sunburst, but for the moment, he stays where he is. "This probably isn't the best place to do it, though."
Now that it's been brought to his attention, he feels a little dumb.
no subject
"Right," he says with a little laugh. "But I do knot how to make a pretty neat book-fort, if you ever wanted a quick power nap. Then you only need to take a little break from studying, and not worry about missing too much."

Floor 5 Room 20
She startles when she first sees him, immediately associating Satoru with his Mirror, but...he doesn't really carry himself the same way. So it's probably him, but how did he suddenly become an adult?
"...Satoru?"
no subject
"H...Hinazuki Kayo?"
no subject
Right now though, he doesn't look like he would have any answers for her. So she doesn't ask.
"...You don't sound very sure about that," she points out. He's talking to her like he doesn't recognize her.
no subject
How is this possible? She's supposed to be dead, isn't she?
...Is this the afterlife? Did he die? If this is the afterlife, it's kind of disappointing.
He dismisses that idea with a shake of his head. He's pretty sure he'd remember if he'd died. It's more likely that this is some kind of dream or hallucination.
"What's going on?"
no subject
But clearly he doesn't remember that. He doesn't remember her and he doesn't remember anything about this situation at all.
"...I don't think you'll believe me." It isn't an explanation, but suddenly she understands why Satoru lied about his abilities before.

Plus, there's unlimited Coke in the kitchen and no parents to tell her no. It's pretty much the best thing ever.
She grabs an armful of like twelve Coke cans and giggles as she hugs them to herself. She's going to drink all of them and then she'll have as much energy as Shaun and it's going to be great.
Her smile drops when she turns around and sees a strange adult. She eyes him warily.]
I can drink all of these.
[YOU CAN'T TELL HER NO YOU'RE NOT HER DAD.]
no subject
...Okay.
[Why is she telling him this.]
If you want to, go ahead.
no subject
Who're you? I'm George.
no subject
[He'd normally identify himself with his family name, but decides to go with his given name. He's dealing with a kid who is clearly not Japanese. He'd probably just confuse her if he introduced himself as "Fujinuma."]
...Isn't George a boy's name?
[He doesn't know a ton about English names, but that definitely sounds male to him.]

Daddy says there's no such thing as stupid questions. I love it when he's wrong.
