When: Monday, June 11, all day starting at 10:00 AM
Rating: R for (sometimes excessive) violence
Summary: The Queen of Hearts has declared war and the time for battle has come.
The Story:
♥ ICly, the Real Things who will act as pieces volunteered and are led by the Red Queen. The Mirrors were chosen by the Queen of Hearts without being given a choice. The Queen of Hearts announced her choices to her Mirrors very directly, with an order to show up at 10:00 AM on the chessboard, ready to fight. The Red Queen announced her choices more politely, but just as firmly, with a text message sent out over the network listing her pieces and requesting their assistance to protect their fellow Real Things. Characters were not ICly able to respond to this message.

♥ Those pieces who choose to obey the summons will have time to gather any items or weapons they might want to have with them, within reason. Those who don't heed the summons will find themselves suddenly and instantly transported to their square on the chessboard when 10:00 AM rolls around. They will arrive with anything that was on their person at the time, as well as one weapon (whatever it would be normal for them to use). Likewise, any spectators who are not in or around the stands by 10:00 AM will find themselves transported there.

♥ Each player sports an armband, white for the Real Things and Black for the Mirrors, with the shape of their assigned chess piece embroidered in the opposite color. Royalty pieces wear crowns indicative of their status. Should a pawn be promoted to queen, a crown will appear on their head.

♥ Pieces will find that they can't leave their assigned spots until they're told what square to move to by either the Queen of Hearts or the Red Queen. And if they refuse to move, after a couple of moments, an unseen force will scoot them along to their new space.

♥ When threading moves on the board, please find the appropriate top-level under which to comment! It might be helpful to label your thread with which move/encounter you're playing out.

♥ Players on the board can not communicate with those in the stands and vice versa (other than by jumping around and flailing, I guess). However, players on the board can communicate directly with those in squares adjacent to them or with any challenger whose square they share. Since some pieces have a lot of down time, feel free to have them chat with others on the board while they're waiting around.

♥ Directions from the Queens can be assumed. Go ahead and play out moves without waiting for a comment to officially announce them.

I mean um...it's really up to you. I don't know what to make of her so I can't tell you if you should or not.

Okay, I'll think about it then on my own.

[Minato would have to. Since Ryoko wasn't helping her with that decision at all.]

And me? Sort of... I talk to him sometimes on the mirrors, but not a lot. Why do you ask?

I don't have a lot of information on Mirrors, so I figure any little bit helps.

[She's mostly curious if everyone's Mirror is like hers, but that doesn't seem to be the case.]

[panatipata]

Oh. What do you want to know? What do you know already?

[He didn't mind helping. If it was just one way to help people understand them, then he wanted to assist.]

Just the basics really. You live in the Mirror and you're ruled by the Queen over there.

[She points over in that direction while not looking up from her notes.]

Um, so I guess for starters, what it is like on your side?

[Despite having switched with her Mirror during an event or two, she doesn't have anything about that in her notebook.]

[panatipata]

For me? It's kind of quiet. I stay out of the way a lot. You know that outside doesn't have any color on our side?

[Basically. He liked it quiet. Some Mirrors weren't that way though, so he stayed in his room for the most part.]

Sometimes we get to watch what's happening on your side even if it's not happening here. We can't really do anything about it, the watching or helping you through anything.

I didn't know that. So is it like um...one of those black and white movies?

[She'll write that down in her notebook, she doesn't know if it'll ever be important but like she said, she doesn't have much information on the mirror side.]

When you say you can watch us even if it's not happening on your side, you mean when the mansion changes during events, right?

[panatipata]

I guess so. I don't really mind it though.

[He had his own source of color in the mansion and didn't really go outside. And he nodded at her second question.]

You all go through a lot and some people might think it's amusing to watch. I just think it's a little sad that you have to lose memories and go through horrible things.

[testcase]

I already lose all my memories even without Wonderland's help.

[She really doesn't appreciate Wonderland adding to it. When she remembers she doesn't appreciate it anyways.]

But then, so that doesn't happen to you guys? Um, that must be nice.

[panatipata]

It doesn't, but we also have to worry about disappearing when you all go home. And you get to die and come back to life.

[Just saying. The drawbacks of living on the side of the Mirrors. But he didn't mind though. He got to live at all.]

[testcase]

...but there's less chances for you to die since you don't go through events, right?

[panatipata]

Yeah. But some of the Mirrors... I'd rather not want to be around them because of what they can do. I only have this one chance.

[testcase]

That makes sense. I think if I had to worry about the people here, I'd avoid more of them.

[panatipata]

You forget a lot, which means you don't really worry? Is that how it works?

[testcase]

That's part of it. But according to my notes, I haven't really met anyone in Wonderland that I should owrry about, so that's also part of it.

[panatipata]

I guess that's okay. As long as you're okay and you're not really worried about it, then that's probably all you can ask for if you keep forgetting things.

[testcase]

Right. Even if it's not okay, since I don't worry and won't remember it, it may as well be.

[...that's really not a good thing though.]

[panatipata]

You won't even remember we had this conversation, will you?

[testcase]

That's right. I'll have what I write in my notebook, but I won't actually remember it.

[panatipata]

That's kind of sad, but I guess inevitable.

[testcase]

I try to not think of it that way. It's just how things are for me.

[panatipata]

And you're okay with that?

[testcase]

Sometimes it's okay, sometimes it's not, so I'm used to it. I think that's the best way to put it.
