Summary: Snow is getting there in regards to bieng a happier, typical her after family things.
The Story:
[ Since the recent(ish) responsibility given to her by Dan of taking care of Evelyn's horse Aqila, Snow's taken it very seriously, out at the stables every morning, usually just after the sun's risen. She takes her out for a ride to stretch her legs, then feeds her apples and gives her fresh hay and water. Once that's done, Snow takes her time to brush her out, talk to her and even sing. Today, she's singing a somewhat familiar fairy tale song inspired by her ever-present wish for David to be there with her. Maybe, if she keeps believing he'll arrive, he actually will. ]
[ It isn't guns that Snow shoots, but arrows which may be a bit different from what's normally fired at the targets. Music blaring in earbuds, she's focused but off, frowning when she doesn't hit her intended target. She never misses, so she tries again, then again. The third time she goes bullseye, so she hangs onto that, shaking off the prior misses and firing off five more shots. All of them hit dead center, but she knows the initial feeling of being off-balance is because of the lingering effects of the chess match, of watching her mirror be generally terrible even if she died early. A part of her wants to try reaching out but what good would it do? She's so distracted by her thoughts that she doesn't even realize it when someone's practicing their aim next to her until a gun goes off and breaks through the music and her thoughts, causing her to jump and look over, pulling out her earbuds. ]
[ Any time Snow's in the diner, she feels like she's home. She doesn't even have to close her eyes to do it since it is the diner from home, for the most part. Everything's the same, there's just no Granny or Ruby. Still, it's busy, so Snow goes to a table occupied by one and smiles, gesturing to the empty space. ]
Do you mind if I join you? Everyone seemed to have the same idea this morning.
[ Snow's room is basically just the same from home minus a kitchen and an actual loft. Still, it looks exactly the same as the apartment in Storybrooke, and today, in an effort to be neighborly, she has the door open while she sits at her little table sipping tea and reading a book. People don't seem to pass by often, but when they do, she smiles, the open door inviting but not demanding. Friends, family, people she's never met - she's up for any company in whatever form it may take.
shooting range
she's lost in her own thoughts enough that she almost doesn't realize she's startled someone after taking a few shots with peacemaker. she smiles sheepishly.]
Sorry. I guess I should have given you warning.
no subject
No, it's okay. This is where people come to practice, after all. I think I was just so wrapped up in my own head, I didn't even notice you. Besides, I'm the odd one out with a bow and arrows versus what I'm pretty sure the range was created for.
no subject
You look pretty good with that bow and arrow though -- it's not often you see someone with that sort of accuracy.
no subject
Hercules did promise I'd be the best and it's always nice to know he delivered on that.
[ Her only real competition is Robin Hood, and she's still never even met him. Yet. ]

Diner
He glances up at Snow, looking a bit embarrassed.]
No, of course not. I probably shouldn't even be keeping this seat occupied. I didn't realise how busy it had gotten.
[He had just got lost in a good book and had missed the entire breakfast rush happening.]
no subject
That's all right. There's nothing wrong with getting lost in a good book. I'm a teacher, and it always makes me happy to see people so engaged in a story. What are you reading?

Between Rick's robots and the sheer amount of books, Armin's first trip to the library here had been somewhat overwhelming. With so many books, it was almost impossible to know where to start, so Armin had grabbed the first book with the word 'sea' in the title, and what a treasure it had turned out to be.]
I'm not sure if you know it. I got it from the library here. It's been really amazing. I've never read anything like this before.
no subject
[ She has no idea if that's true or not. ]
The Nautilus can travel between realms, so it's possible he wasn't pulling my leg.

her room.
Oh! Pardon me, miss.
( She's pretty; it's the first thing he notices; then he takes in the surroundings a little more. The place is cute. A little homey. )
I wasn't sure what sort of room this was, I hope I haven't bothered you.

[ Apparently there's no stranger danger here, or for some reason she's not afraid of stranger danger. Could be the bow and quiver hanging over one chair. Or the sword in the corner. Or Regina and all her magic just next door. Whatever it is, she's not worried and smiles brightly. ]
My name is Snow.
no subject
( Tea with someone new sounds nice, especially in a place where he doesn't know anyone. Friends and allies are always good to have. )
You can call me Sanji.
( He takes a seat, smile just as bright as her own. )
Are you ... new here, like me?
no subject
[ She pours him tea, then slides over the tray with sugar, milk, and cream so that he can fix it however he likes. ]
Not quite, I've been here since the end of November. But there was a bit of family...drama happening that kept me from really getting to know others until now. But I'd like to make friends since we have no idea how long we're here. Did you just arrive, then?

dinerrr
I'm surprised you even asked.
[But she's going to assume Snow wasn't paying attention because of how busy it is.]
no subject
[ No, she wasn't paying attention at all, even as she asked and continued scanning just in case she missed an empty seat. Sliding into the booth, she smiles and orders a cup of coffee first. Then, her attention turns back to Regina. ]
So. Curious minds want and need to know. What did you do to Drizella?
[ Snow couldn't make herself physically confront her after the initial moment she kicked in her door, but. She knew there would be a price to pay for her eventually. ]
no subject
[It's not really something that should be discussed in detail in such a crowded setting.]
She's alive, but she won't be trying anything for a long time.
no subject
I'm surprised. And proud of you, Regina. For showing some restraint. She's no doubt surprised, too.
[ That she didn't cease breathing at any point, Snow means. ]

Snow is one of those people. Every time Cissie's seen her before this, she hasn't seen her miss a shot... until today. It's not that she's watching her, so much as she's shooting next to her, so she can't help but notice what's going on.
Cissie's pretty focused on her own shooting, so the sudden crack of the gun catches her off guard as well, if not as much as it obviously startles Snow. She gives a surprised laugh and shakes her head when they meet eyes.]
You'd think I'd be used to the gunshots after being here so long, but they still catch me by surprise sometimes. Especially when I'm focused. [She uses her bow to point to Snow, with a grin.] You're really good, by the way.
her room :3
Um... hey.
[God, be less awkward, would you?]
no subject
Hello, R. Come on in.
[ She puts her book to the side. ]
Would you like anything?
[ She isn't sure what he can and can't have or does and doesn't like, but she still wants to offer. ]
no subject
No thanks. [R still doesn't really get hungry, or thirsty. His body is still waking up, still trying to remember the things it needs, but maybe--]
Um... maybe a glass of water.
[He should probably try, and at least he can't get grossed out by whatever he's trying to consume having no taste when water barely tastes of anything to begin with.]
You... doing okay?

closed to Barbie;
(Snow can't blame them, she supposes.)
Still, when she sees Barbie come in, it's only a warm smile from her that greets him. She'd forgiven him long ago. ]
I'm so glad you agreed to meet for coffee.
no subject
He looks sheepish though, even if he's already had to face Julia as well. It shows in the way he pauses, waiting to be recognized before sitting down, in how he smiles, giving her a nod but rubbing the back of his neck as he sits down.]
Of course I agreed. All you have to do is ask.
[And probably about anything.]
I'm just glad you asked. How are you feeling? I mean, I know everyone says you're fine after but...

[ She hates to start them off on this foot, but it's better to get it all out there, she thinks, rather than create emotional whiplash by going back and forth. ]
My grandson died, and not because of Wonderland. Because of someone from home. Any period of time I wasn't all right is due to that.
[ It's true; she'd died for Emma, she would do it again in a heartbeat. It's a no-brainer, she wouldn't even hesitate. But walking into a room and seeing Henry's lying on the floor, lifeless, had been too much. She'd seen it before, in Neverland, but this was different. This had been dead. Not cursed. ]
no subject
What? Someone here killed your grandson? Here?
[He remembers someone going on a paranoia bender about such things, but Barbie hadn't given it much thought.]
I take it they're still here?
