The Story:
Orlais' current ruler, Lacie, has invited anyone of name, fame, and influence to The Winter Palace for three days of extravagant festivities surrounding the peace talks between her and Tillie, whose grasp for the throne has plunged beautiful Orlais into a dreadful civil war. Unbeknownst to both a third player, Elsie, has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to obtain her own share of power over the land.

Get ready for three days of fancy food, fine drink, good music, good entertainment, and just a little bit of murder, maybe? Your character has secured an invitation, and will join the illustrious crowd, become privy to the latest scandals and gossip, and observe as the struggle for Orlais' throne reaches its final chapter.

[Quiet footsteps echo in the corner. Mikan, a skilled nurse under the Lacie hand, gathers some books before realizing she's not alone.]

[Nageki glances up slowly, reluctant to tear himself away from the world of the story. His breath catches when he realizes that he's not alone and hastily pulls his mask back on his face. He then stands up from where he was sitting on the floor, taking only the time that's needed to ensure he doesn't harm the books.] Hello.

[Nageki's childhood was one on constant illness. At times it feels as though he spends more of his life with a fever than without. It's possible Mikan has been called to help care for him before, though he wouldn't recognize her without a remainder if that was the case. He's seen so many doctors that their faces have all blurred together.]

[naughty_nurse]

[Mikan blinks at him, but she caught his face before the mask comes on - as skilled a nurse as she is, she does recognize him. He's a soft, gentle boy, so she smiles a little. A proper curtsy follows.]

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you.

[mourning_ghost]

[He shrugs and eyes the books Mikan has collected.] It's fine.

[He's sitting down again, though the mask stays on.]

[That earns her small, quick smile of agreement.]

I probably won't be able to for a while, though.

... Maybe... there's a way to bring books to you, instead.

I'd like that. If it wouldn't trouble anyone.
