The Story:
Orlais' current ruler, Lacie, has invited anyone of name, fame, and influence to The Winter Palace for three days of extravagant festivities surrounding the peace talks between her and Tillie, whose grasp for the throne has plunged beautiful Orlais into a dreadful civil war. Unbeknownst to both a third player, Elsie, has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to obtain her own share of power over the land.

Get ready for three days of fancy food, fine drink, good music, good entertainment, and just a little bit of murder, maybe? Your character has secured an invitation, and will join the illustrious crowd, become privy to the latest scandals and gossip, and observe as the struggle for Orlais' throne reaches its final chapter.

Well enough, well enough. No one has tried to assassinate me yet. [He flashes a quick grin, like the edge of a knife, only for a moment before his expression resumes its usually affability.]

At least, not that I've noticed, which means that either no one has tried or my enemies have finally started spending money on the kinds of assassins that someone of my standing deserves.

[Ishimaru flinches at the talk about assassination. He doesn't know how to respond to dark humor! With an attempt at a chuckle, he nervously speaks up.]

W-well... Let us hope that they have given up entirely! In any case, I am glad that your evening has proceeded without incident!

It wouldn't do for them to get bored of me, young man. [He says, referring to the idea of his own death with the level of blasé disregard that even most Orlesians would find entirely distasteful.]

Something will happen, you can be certain of it. [But he doesn't appear to mind, and he puts an arm around Kiyotaka's shoulders as he guides him into a slow stroll between the bookcases.]

[He finds himself fretting a bit at combination of the off-color remark and the ominous statement. The arm on his shoulder is also unexpected, but he just goes with as they move along.]

Not exactly. I did wonder about your whereabouts, but I actually thought that I would come here to check out the library. Finding you here was a fortunate surprise!

Well, then. It seems we're both blessed with good fortune today.
