Summary: Starlight Glimmer is making poor life choices. Everyone else gets to suffer now.
The Story:

Maybe you're outside, enjoying the fall weather. Maybe you're in the kitchen, or just wandering the halls. It doesn't matter. As soon as you lay eyes on that purple pony, walking around with a cyan-glowing horn and an insufferably smug look on her face, your world will twist.

Suddenly you're on four hooves, not two feet. You have a mane. Maybe you're lucky enough to have wings, or a horn. You aren't a human now. You're a pony, your special talent emblazoned on your flank to show the world who you are.

But clearly, this is how things have always been, right? Pay no attention to your memories of hands, this is normal now.

They're friends. It's not like he would have laughed at him or thought less of him or anything.

[He picks up the book with his mouth and holds it so Wirt can see the cover. It is, predictably, a book about codes and ciphers. He tucks it into his vest pocket.]

I was looking for more information on the origins of the vigenmare cipher.

[Wirt finally picks up the book he dropped, but when he sees the cover he sighs.]

At least you're having better luck than me. I haven't found like, anything I've been looking for today. I was looking for Henry David Thoroughbred, but this is just some knockoff.

[He levitates it up so Dipper can see that it's Henry David Thoreau, whoever that's supposed to be.]

[Dipper leans in, eyes wide.]

None of my books talked about it at all. Just something called the Vigenere Cipher which was, like, almost the same? But not quite. I think Wonderland is hiding something. Maybe your poetry is a part of it.

I guess so. That does sound like Wonderland...

[Plus it's better than assuming it's just like, anti-pony microaggressions or something.]

What does it get out of hiding this stuff though? Other than like, annoying us. It's doing pretty well at that part.

Annoying us isn't its own reward? [Dipper shakes his head.] I don't know. How well do you remember the missing poems? Do you have any of them memorized?

N-Not...not confidently enough to like recite them. I mean, it's not like I whisper them to myself in my room at night or anything. [A NOT AT ALL AWKWARD LAUGH.] That would be like, so weird, right?

Riiight, I'm gonna take that to mean you definitely have them memorized and whisper them to yourself at night.

[Dork. Dipper might be judging a little bit, but it's clearly fondly.]

I was just thinking maybe if we knew what was missing, we could see if there's, I don't know, some kind of secret message hiding in it.
