Happy December, Wonderland!

[ Juliet offers a brilliant, if somewhat strained, smile to the network. The camera isn't directly aimed at her face at first--she's still getting used to video chatting--but she reaches out to adjust it quickly before continuing. ]

I know not everyone here celebrates Christmas or... Even knows what Christmas is, but! In the O'Hara household, Christmas is a big deal. I mean, I really big deal. All my family comes in and there are games, and arts and crafts, and a ton of food...

[ People probably get the idea, Juliet. ]

So! I know things always get really crazy during the holidays anyway and I wanted to get on top of things so I'm having a little pre-Christmas get together at my place. So whether or I know you or not, come by room three on the seventh floor anytime over the next few days and I promise we'll have a lot of fun. Open door policy.

[ She pauses. ]

Not literally. Knock first.

[ room 3, level 7 ]

Juliet has gone all-out for the holidays, as an O'Hara is wont to do. With no financial limits and no job to distract her, she's put everything into decorating her place. Anyone walking past room three on the seventh floor will be greeted immediately with an timely wreath and equally festive doormat.

The decorations don't stop there. Juliet has decked the halls to the point that they are bursting, having even extended her living room quite a bit to accommodate food, fun, and hopefully a lot of guests. Every wall is decorated with some kind of garland, wreath, or lights. She's even got a sprig of mistletoe hanging in the corner for any couples who visit that might be so inclined.

And, of course, there is the the Christmas tree in the corner of the living room.

Anyone who visits will also be greeted by an unimaginable spread of food from cookies, cakes, and various snacks to some traditional Scottish fare like mince pies. There's another corner table dedicated to just Christmas crafts, from cutting out paper snowflakes to sewing Holiday themed pajamas.

Maybe it's a little early to go full out, but Juliet couldn't wait. Christmas is her favorite time of year and she hopes that getting to it early will help her miss her family less - and maybe help her find a new family in Wonderland.

[Drizella hasn't done Christmas in a very long time. The winter holidays aren't really "Christmas" in the Enchanted Forest 2.0, but they have similar traditions, given that she actually arrived on Christmas last year, she missed out on the festivities there last time.

It's hard to believe that she's been in Wonderland nearly a year already. So much has changed in that time, and in a lot of ways it feels like nothing's changed at all.

Still, she's doing her best to try and be more present, so that means going to dumb social things and trying to be a nice person. Or maybe she's just there for the food. Either way, she is grabbing a plate of cookies and parking by the arts and crafts table, watching other people as they make paper snowflakes before grabbing a piece of paper so she can fold it up and make her own.

She cuts out a few holes, unfolds it again, and frowns.]

I don't think I'm doing this right.

There's no way to do it wrong.

[ Juliet is at the table, making sure the crafts were fully stocked so everyone can keep it up. She's got a ball of string, letting anyone string their snowflakes from any part of the living room that they desire. ]

I had three nephews. Compared to theirs, yours at least actually looks like a snowflake. [ She stares at it, wrinkling her nose. ] Well, almost. I think you need to cut more holes.

[Drizella tips her head to the side, before giving a small shrug.]

Yeah, but more holes runs the risk of me over doing it and ... there being too many holes.

Well, the good think about it is if you don't like how it turns out, you can always try again.

[ She's done this enough with her nephews to know that sometimes you just have to start over. ]

Fair enough.

[She'll hold out the paper in front of her to see where would be the best approach, before folding the snowflake back down again and choosing a corner to start from.]

I'm Drizella.

[Since they haven't met yet.]

Juliet.

[ Since Drizella's hands are full, she just offers a smile. ]

I'm glad you decided to come. I was hoping I'd get to meet more people. I haven't been here for very long.

I've been here a while, but I don't always socialize a lot.

[She's not always the most pleasant person.]

There are a lot of people that love stuff like this though, so you should get a good group.

Socializing can be hard. Luckily I enjoy doing it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I can enjoy quiet nights with my cat and a book, and I'm not exactly the type who hits up clubs. But connecting with other people? I love to do that.

I've never really been good at it.

[Her mother's tendency to scare people away and box her into situations made that difficult, in the end it just became easier to be nasty and keep them back.]

I do like to drink though, so I try to have a drinking buddy if I can manage it.

Well, I have plenty to drink here if you want. It's not really Christmas unless you're a little tipsy, right?

[ And Juliet has truly come through on that front. ]

I get the impression that drinking is a pretty common pastime in Wonderland. I can't really blame people.

It does help with the post event trauma.

[When Wonderland messes with your head, best to drink it away. It's not like they have anything better to do.]

And the boredom.

So is that what it's like here? Either scrambling to stay alive or staring at each other waiting for another event to come along?

[ That seems awful. ]

Kind of? I mean, some people find better ways to deal with it. They get jobs or whatever. But I'm not sure my practical work experience actually translates into anything that would be useful here.

[It doesn't seem like anyone's looking for a powerless witch - or a personal assistant.]

[ Shawn, still dressed as Santa, has a different gift for Drizella, and he pulls a bottle of scotch out of his bag. ]

You were on the naughty list but I said screw it because I'm pretty sure you've had a hell of a year.

[ Handing it over, he looks down at the snowflakes. ]

You almost can't tell what's real and what's paper.

[Oh, Shawn, you are a beautiful friend. She takes the bottle from him and smiles.]

Thanks. I appreciate the consideration.

[She glances down at her snowflakes, and then back up at him with a raised eyebrow.]

Though now I think you're being a little too nice.

Isn't that what the holidays are all about? People being too nice because the season compels them or whatever.

[ Still, he sits down beside her and decides to try his hand at it. ]

You do a lot of this in Magic Forest or wherever it is you said you're from?

[She shakes her head.]

My mother wasn't big on arts and crafts. She was more concerned with building power for herself, so I spent most of my holidays social climbing.

Sounds like a great time.

[ So, he has an idea. She needs to learn how to let loose, have fun. And she needs friends who won't bring up home and her past and regrets. ]

Come on. Follow me.

[ He encourages her to abandon the party for a second, him still in his full-on Santa suit. ]

We're going to an empty room, not far, and we're gonna built a freakin' snowman.

[It's not the first time she's built a snowman, but the last one may have been the day Ana died. She's going to choose not to think about that, though, and just focus on the fact that she has a friend and that friend wants to do fun things.]
