Happy December, Wonderland!

[ Juliet offers a brilliant, if somewhat strained, smile to the network. The camera isn't directly aimed at her face at first--she's still getting used to video chatting--but she reaches out to adjust it quickly before continuing. ]

I know not everyone here celebrates Christmas or... Even knows what Christmas is, but! In the O'Hara household, Christmas is a big deal. I mean, I really big deal. All my family comes in and there are games, and arts and crafts, and a ton of food...

[ People probably get the idea, Juliet. ]

So! I know things always get really crazy during the holidays anyway and I wanted to get on top of things so I'm having a little pre-Christmas get together at my place. So whether or I know you or not, come by room three on the seventh floor anytime over the next few days and I promise we'll have a lot of fun. Open door policy.

[ She pauses. ]

Not literally. Knock first.

[ room 3, level 7 ]

Juliet has gone all-out for the holidays, as an O'Hara is wont to do. With no financial limits and no job to distract her, she's put everything into decorating her place. Anyone walking past room three on the seventh floor will be greeted immediately with an timely wreath and equally festive doormat.

The decorations don't stop there. Juliet has decked the halls to the point that they are bursting, having even extended her living room quite a bit to accommodate food, fun, and hopefully a lot of guests. Every wall is decorated with some kind of garland, wreath, or lights. She's even got a sprig of mistletoe hanging in the corner for any couples who visit that might be so inclined.

And, of course, there is the the Christmas tree in the corner of the living room.

Anyone who visits will also be greeted by an unimaginable spread of food from cookies, cakes, and various snacks to some traditional Scottish fare like mince pies. There's another corner table dedicated to just Christmas crafts, from cutting out paper snowflakes to sewing Holiday themed pajamas.

Maybe it's a little early to go full out, but Juliet couldn't wait. Christmas is her favorite time of year and she hopes that getting to it early will help her miss her family less - and maybe help her find a new family in Wonderland.

It never occurs to Misty to ask what's been going on for Jessica. She's been busy with so many things, and assuming the same thing has been part of Jessica's life as well.

Laughing though at that, ducking her head and then looking up at Jessica. "He set up a date at the lake, with Stevie Nicks playing! He did that for me, and I love that," she sways, knowing she's obvious about her love for Stevie, but that doesn't change how happy it makes her that he did that for her.

"And if it was bad, you'd have to stand in line. I already hit him with a pillow."

"Well, shit," she says, looking impressed, "never thought he had it in him. I oughta go give him a nice pat on the back. And maybe a little reminder that he better keep that shit up."

She talks a big game, but that conversation probably wouldn't go the way she imagines it will. If anything, she'll walk up to him, open her mouth, then walk right back away.

Regardless, she's happy to see Misty happy. She deserves it. Little things like that, and seeing people come together...it made her really like Wonderland sometimes, even if it tugged at her heart and reminded her of Hoyt.

"You can't just go tellin' me you hit him with a pillow and stop there!" Then suddenly she grins. "Oooh, did you spend the night with him?"

It's weird to picture, but she's not judging! Honest!

Misty glances around, grinning still and enjoying this kind of talk. She's never had that kind of connection with others, and so glad to have that in this place with Jessica. "Neither did I, truth be told, but it's so exciting. I mean, never had a date so loving that we can have those things here despite the events and all.

Though she ducks her head then blushing. "It wasn't that kind of hitting. I mean, for pillow hitting. No, he hasn't, we haven't. No. I think it's still all too new for either of us but during that event when we were having to dig up the skeletons? One of them was Grendel. His true form," she says, smiling fading as she remembers that. "He hadn't told me he'd died here before."

Her smile fades too, for different reasons. "Oh. That event."

She was still very much getting over it. Part of her current uber rebelliousness came from what had happened over those few days. It was always when she was so sure of who she thought she was that the foundation got ripped out from under her. Again, she was back to square one, but...maybe this just meant she was growing?

With a slight shake of her head, she smiles and pushes the thoughts away. She was supposed to be having fun.

"Well," she says, her tone firm, "I think it's a real good sign that y'all could have somethin' like that happen and be okay. Death can totally bring people together."

And fuck. Now she's definitely thinking of Hoyt and how much that helped tear them apart. Welp.

Misty nods because that event had been rough for her, and she is still recovering from it. It's been the worst for her, and while she knows obviously many have been through much worse - such as dying - it's still tough for her.

"After I hit him with a pillow. Then I told him about Madison killing me, which I hadn't mentioned either, but that was before this place," she says, because that makes it different, right? "But you're right. That's what I have to focus on. That's the important part."

Just like being there for her friends, and not letting this place drag any of them down.

Jessica frowns a bit at Misty. Now that she was finally coming out of the bubble she'd lived in all of her life, it's been pretty eye-opening to see how much worse some people had it. Like, she thought she was the most oppressed person ever, yet some people in Wonderland had been fighting for their lives for ages. Or goddamn dying.

After a moment, she pulls Misty into another hug. She's thankful to have some new perspective on things.

"You deserve every bit of happiness comin' to you," she asserts, giving her a tight squeeze. "Don't let anybody take that away."

[twirlier]

Misty never hesitates for those hugs. Hugging Jessica back, tight, holding her close for a long moment, savoring that comfort as much as she always did.

"Long as I can stay here? I plan to," she says, knowing that it all ends when Wonderland ends for her. Until then though. "I don't care about event, none of it. I have this place, and all of you and I'm so happy for it."
