Happy December, Wonderland!

[ Juliet offers a brilliant, if somewhat strained, smile to the network. The camera isn't directly aimed at her face at first--she's still getting used to video chatting--but she reaches out to adjust it quickly before continuing. ]

I know not everyone here celebrates Christmas or... Even knows what Christmas is, but! In the O'Hara household, Christmas is a big deal. I mean, I really big deal. All my family comes in and there are games, and arts and crafts, and a ton of food...

[ People probably get the idea, Juliet. ]

So! I know things always get really crazy during the holidays anyway and I wanted to get on top of things so I'm having a little pre-Christmas get together at my place. So whether or I know you or not, come by room three on the seventh floor anytime over the next few days and I promise we'll have a lot of fun. Open door policy.

[ She pauses. ]

Not literally. Knock first.

[ room 3, level 7 ]

Juliet has gone all-out for the holidays, as an O'Hara is wont to do. With no financial limits and no job to distract her, she's put everything into decorating her place. Anyone walking past room three on the seventh floor will be greeted immediately with an timely wreath and equally festive doormat.

The decorations don't stop there. Juliet has decked the halls to the point that they are bursting, having even extended her living room quite a bit to accommodate food, fun, and hopefully a lot of guests. Every wall is decorated with some kind of garland, wreath, or lights. She's even got a sprig of mistletoe hanging in the corner for any couples who visit that might be so inclined.

And, of course, there is the the Christmas tree in the corner of the living room.

Anyone who visits will also be greeted by an unimaginable spread of food from cookies, cakes, and various snacks to some traditional Scottish fare like mince pies. There's another corner table dedicated to just Christmas crafts, from cutting out paper snowflakes to sewing Holiday themed pajamas.

Maybe it's a little early to go full out, but Juliet couldn't wait. Christmas is her favorite time of year and she hopes that getting to it early will help her miss her family less - and maybe help her find a new family in Wonderland.

Gren arches a brow, his lips curving into a small smirk. He is absolutely and completely fucking with her.

"What, you sayin' I'm fuckin' uptight or something?"

[holyshihtzu]

"You're a little..." She waves her hands at him. "Prickly. I kind of have to remind him to be compassionate, especially when it comes to cases. Basically every day."

[oneagainstall]

"Hey now, I'm plenty fuckin' compassionate. Picture of compassion, me."

Except for all the yelling and the fighting and the occasional murder threats of course.

"...But yeah, fair."

"Yeah. Sure. Definition of compassion, right here."

She's teasing, mostly because Gren has never been anything but nice to her. He didn't even eat her when he had the chance.

"Still, you remind me of him." She smiles kindly. "It's kind of nice."

[oneagainstall]

He's been really good with the note eating people thing and it really should be celebrated more than it is. It's super hard, going from eating all of the people to eating none of the people, y'know.

"Glad to be of service, I guess. Can't say that happens a whole lot."

[holyshihtzu]

It is super hard and Gren is a pillar of self-restraint. Juliet might need to make him an award or something to go with his new hat.

She offers her glass up in a toast. "Well, here's to being of service to new friends. Hopefully, I can do the same for you someday."

[oneagainstall]

She's a good friend and he deeply appreciates that. He returns the toat with a soft grunt.

"Don't really know anyone like you back home. All my closet friends are kind of fuckin' assholes. Or cynical," he cants his head. "I dunno. Maybe you're a little like Flycatcher. I think he's like...the only fuckin' Fable left that isn't an asshole."

[holyshihtzu]

"Well, I am unique!" She shoots him a perky smile, and doesn't seem too put off by being compared to someone called Flycatcher. "So I guess most of the Fables are pretty miserable?"

[oneagainstall]

"That you fuckin' are."

He tilts his head upwards, because good lord is that a loaded question.

"Well, yeah. We're all refugees- the Fables that got out with their fortunes in tacts are probably happier- but again they're also all fuckin' assholes because of it. Those of us that got across to the mundy with squat? Ain't a lot for us to be happy about."

[holyshihtzu]

"I guess I can't blame any of you. It sounds like it's pretty bad, from what you've told me."

She presses her lips together thoughtfully, lowering her voice a little.

"Is it bad that I feel a little guilty? Because everyone here seems to have had it pretty bad, and I just... Haven't. I love my life back home."

[oneagainstall]

"Yeah, i't a pretty big pile of shit."

But he can't do much about it other than angrilily yell about it to anyone willing to listen to him. He shakes his head.

"Nah, that just means you've got some basic fuckin' empathy which can be hard to fuckin' find sometimes. Glad at least someone I give a shit about in this place has something good to go back to."

[holyshihtzu]

That's the worst part about it, and Juliet wishes she could do something. Which is maybe what she's doing. A Christmas party is really all that she can do.

But, he also gives a shit about her, which is really nice, too.

"Hopefully it will stay that way. Hopefully, Wonderland doesn't know something I don't." For all she knows, in 5 years her world will be crawling with zombies and she'll be lunchmeat.

Though a party is far from Gren's prefered choice of activity, he can see the merit in it. It gives people a chance to relax that might not otherwise have. He absolutely gives a lot of shits about her- lucky her.

"If it did, it'd of thrown it in your face already."

[holyshihtzu]

"Part of me wishes it will if it is something bad, but most of me knows that finding out about the future is kind of pointless, anyway."

It's not as if she can change it.

[oneagainstall]

"Yeah. Ain't like you'll remember shit here, anyway. You might as well just sit along for the fuckin' ride. Count on the people who care about you when things turn to shit."

Because that's all any of them had, in the end. The people who were still around.

[holyshihtzu]

Juliet nods confidently.

"I think that's exactly what I'm going to try to do."

"Then you already got a good thing going for yourself, Juliet."

She'll do okay. Survive better than most here.

She smiles.

"Thanks, Gren. I'm really glad I met you."

"Ain't something I hear a whole lot often but sure, I'll take it," he shrugs. "Likewise."
