Well, perhaps I can help you. For now, would you like to go someplace more comfortable? The stairway is awfully bright and you can't be feeling well after a box of that.
[ In...mid-afternoon. ]

[Wait, what was she saying, actually? Eleanor squints up at the lady through her drunk goggles.]
You wanna help me?
[She gives the lady a once-over, looking uncertain.]
But you're all fancy and hot and I'm a shit person. 'mliterally shit. Like, made out of it 'n'everything.
no subject
I would like to help you because it's what I enjoy doing. Helping others.
[ Somehow, in her large dress, she manages to find a step and sits, a bit below but close enough to still have a conversation. ]
And I know for a fact you are not made up of shit. Unless you're from a very unique world that is quite good at making such types of beings.
[ Points for calling her 'hot' though, that was nice. ]
I happen to run the clinic. I have beds and plenty of water, some snacks.
no subject
...W-what kind of snacks?
[And ask the right questions.]
no subject
Well. Cookies, for one. Oreos and those miniature chocolate chip sort that come in a bag you might find in a vending machine. All sorts of different chips, and I do mean American chips.
[ Not french fries, in case she thinks the accent means crisps are something different. ]
Any of that sound appealing so far?
no subject
Oreos. Yes.
[Time to struggle to her feet on a very narrow stair. At least she's leaving the box of wine behind?]
Take me to them.
no subject
It's quite an interesting choice, you know. Boxed wine when you could get the really good, thousands of dollars a bottle wine from the closets.
[ She's not judging the day drinking because that'd make her a nice fat hypocrite. No, she would rather encourage better quality, apparently. ]
no subject
[Eleanor glances up at Claire, brow furrowed in confusion.]
You know a lot of modernish things for somebody who wears big old-timey dresses. Have you just...been here forever?
[Or is she just really extra and dressing to match the mansion they live in?]
no subject
Well, I have been here for two years almost, which isn't as long as some. But I am a bit of a...well. Time traveler, I suppose. I'm from someplace like this, only time does move there, and I remember everything.
[ Claire lets them into the clinic and turns on the lights, leading the way to her own office. ]
So, I have the benefit of being very modern, but being from a time where old-timey dresses are all the rage.
no subject
[Which, admittedly, is something Eleanor's always sort of admired but also thought was too good for her and therefore that admiration turned into resentment? But Chidi's helped her realize that's one of her Things To Work On and. Well, it's nice to admit she likes things, actually. Even if it's nerdy.
She follows Claire, checking out the clinic as she goes.]
This is a really good idea. I sort of forgot about people needing doctors and stuff, being dead before and all, but this place is mean.
[She pauses, suddenly realizing:]
Oh noooo, I'm going to be so hungover!
no subject
You're dead at home?
[ She isn't sure what to say; 'I'm sorry' doesn't seem sincere and so she busies herself with getting a water bottle for her and handing it over. ]
Here. Start drinking this and we can make that hangover a little less intense.
no subject
[Michael probably said where the Judge lived but she probably wasn't paying attention.
She takes the bottle and takes a sip.]
Thanks. And sorry, I think? I'm not really great at telling when I'm a jerk when I'm drunk. And sometimes when I'm sober. Either way, this is super nice of you.
no subject
[ Claire smiles just a little at Eleanor, sad that she's had to die and seemingly so young. It's also none of her business, although she's insanely curious now. ]
So you're...fully aware of being dead? It's clear to you?
no subject
Um, yeah, in my world it was. I guess if you actually go to heaven it's pretty nice. I was just in a...fake version. So it looked nice but kind of sucked under the surface? Michael designed it to make us miserable. But then we kept figuring him out over and over again, so he joined our side to get out of trouble.
no subject
For now, she's fascinated by what Eleanor is saying. ]
If heaven was meant to...make you miserable then I'm guessing it wasn't actually heaven after all.
[ Though her mind doesn't necessarily switch to the opposite conclusion. Instead, it makes her think of this place, Wonderland. Not going where one intended seems to be a common thread among them all. ]
