Summary: As the Gryphon announced, there is an event. Everyone is now living as if one regret they formerly had no longer exists.

So you... have a brother named Shaun. Shaun's a common name.

[But... combined with the fact that he apparently looks like the Shaun she knows... well, it's too big a coincidence to really be one.]

So let's see this journal.

[choosetruth]

[He might not know her, but she knows him well enough that rather than pointing out that that's dumb and he should know better than to believe in coincidences this big, she just shoots him a look over his sunglasses. Then she opens the journal, laying it out for him to see as well.]

See? This is obviously us. Being--

[Her eyes catch a few sentences and she slams the book shut.]

Never mind. Bad journal.

Okay, now I'm curious. Bad journal? What's wrong with it?

[She shakes her head, but passes it over.] Those may be our names, and our handwriting, but there is no way that's what really happened. Ick.

[He blinks. Then smirks at her.] Hey, you're the one that wanted to insist that we're related...

[choosetruth]

We are, dipshit. The journal makes that clear too.

[It’s just that apparently the George and Shaun who wrote this journal were even closer than George and her Shaun. She didn’t know that was possible. But then, she didn’t really add sex to the mix.]

[He opens the journal. Reads very briefly. Closes the journal.]

Uh.

Gross?

[choosetruth]

Gross.

[She stands up, frowning, and starts to pace.]

Okay. Let's consider the facts. We know we're in Wonderland. We have different memories, and the journal doesn't corroborate either.

[...she doesn't want the journal to be right. She's too damn good at her job to discount the possibility. As little sense as it makes for her to apparently be boning her brother, it makes even less sense for Wonderland to magically alter their journal in a way that doesn't match either of their memories.

And they woke up in the same bed.]

God fucking dammit.

...I can't believe you're boning your brother.

[The fact that he would necessarily be boning his sister as well isn't lost on him, but he feels like an only child. It doesn't even feel possible to him.]

[choosetruth]

I have a girlfriend, asshole. [She gives him an acidic look.] How are you capable of being just as annoying as my brother if you don't remember being related?

[adaptiveimmunities]

[He shrugs.] It's a gift. You're welcome.

[And then after a brief pause:] Or Wonderland didn't change who we are, just what we remember.

[She points at him and nods.]
