The Story:

here in the ashes your soul cries out | freya, klaus, fitz
Are you ready?
[She's not asking Fitz. He doesn't get a say.]

at freya's question, he stops his slow pacing, and steps forward. ) Heartily, ( he responds, and waits for direction. )

His witch had better not betray him. ]

It'll be a little disorienting at first, but hopefully this will be a quick trip.
[And with her brother powering the spell, that should only expedite things.]

if he's going to blame anyone tbh )

This time, she and Klaus manifest in a cream-colored hall that seems to stretch endlessly out in one direction and twists into a maze in the other. There's a squeal of sneakers against the stained wood floor, and a small, waist-high figure darts away from them on skinny legs. At least some part of Fitz has been trying to do some remodeling in this area. He wasn't expecting Freya back this soon. ]

Hello, Leopold. We're not here to hurt you.

You want to take my Dad. [ how could that not be hurtful??? ]

he cannot comprehend such allegiance to a parent, and not in his friend. it strikes him true, on a deeper, visceral level, just how truly this boy has diverged.
klaus sinks too to his knees. ) Well he wasn't very nice to you or your mother, was he?

Sometimes the people we love, don't love us well in return. And sometimes that can hurt us more than we realize.

He treats mum and me really good. Considering I'm stupid, and she's a girl... [ they'd never be able to survive on their own if it was ever just the two of them. He's heard mum and dad yell about it a lot. ]

klaus studies him silently, and then reaches out a gentle hand to rest on his arm. ) You're a very smart boy, Leopold. And as for your mother being a girl... That's not a kind or true thing to imply of the woman who loves you, is it?
so sorry this is so late
[All boys love their mothers and she hopes that Mrs. Fitz was a far better parent than Mr. Fitz.]
You're the smartest boy I know, Fitz. You like science, don't you? Look at the evidence.
It happens!
It's happening, but he doesn't trust it.]
I. probably said the wrong word. [If they think he's insulting mum, then it's his fault. All of it is his fault. His head would drop there if the lady hadn't spoken up just then. He knows her. He's pretty sure he knows what she wants to do here.]
The evidence says you don't want me to have a father. It just got fixed and you want it to break again.
