Summary: Catch-all log for The Good Place event!
The Story:

Welcome to the Good Place! Your character, tragically, has died in their world. They might not remember how (or maybe they do!) but it’s okay either way because conveniently they have earned enough points to go to the Good Place when they die! They’ve earned a house that they have been told is perfectly suited to them (it is probably not, but who are they to question the universe?!) in an absolutely delightful and quaint little Neighborhood with a frozen yogurt shop on every block. It’s almost irritatingly perfect!

Most importantly though, someone will be living with your character. Someone very, very special - their soulmate, hand-picked from the billions on Earth! Sure, it may not be who (or even what) they expected, but this is what they’ve earned from the good life they’ve lived in your world. They deserve this! They really, truly do.

Everyone is welcome to add details to what exactly is in the Neighborhood - everyone has different standards for what constitutes an "objectively good but still mediocre" neighborhood experience, after all!

Okay, I think that's enough kitty time for you for now. [ If not just because Ange has absolutely no idea what to do with this enthusiasm overload going on here.

She moves to grab the cat again and take it from him.. even though it doesn't go too easily. The cat struggles a bit again. ]

Seriously, you'd think he's trying to replace your cactus friend.

[jamminshield]

Oh, right, all of this cuteness should be saved for you! [He smiles as he hands the cat back over to her... and tries to ease the cat back into her grasp.]

Hey now Kitty, we each have our soulmates, but we can all still be friends! ...Hey, how about Felina? It sounds witchy and catty!

[entreats]

[ Ange seems to think about it for a moment, but then continues. ]

You know, that doesn't sound like too bad of a name. [ Which is Ange speak for "hey, I actually like that quite a bit!" Which is what she would say if she were actually capable of feeling excitement.

The cat seems to finally settle down a bit in Ange's arms at the sentiment too. ]

I think I might just go with that. It'd get kind of weird just saying "hey, cat" for the rest of eternity anyway.

[jamminshield]

Yessss! [He pumps a fist excitedly and watches the two of them with starry eyes.]

I'm glad that you like it! Then... let's make it official! [He clears his throat and tries to make an official-sounding proclamation.] I dub the... Felina, the Magical Cat!

[entreats]

[ Who knows whether or not the cat can understand human speech. It almost seems as if the cat does understand it though - when Steven says that, it turns itself towards him and lets out a meow.

That.. probably sounds accepting? Ange, on the other hand, seems a little less enthused. ]

Thanks. Even though I feel kind of ridiculous right now.

[jamminshield]

[Steven's grin becomes goofy, and he makes a soft noise as the cat meows at him! And he continues to smile strongly as he looks back at Ange.]

You say that like it's a bad thing. Nothing wrong with being a little ridiculous!

[entreats]

I'm not so sure everyone would agree with you on that. [ Ange was bullied tons for being even slightly different from everyone else after all, so she can't even imagine what it'd be like if she had actually been ridiculous rather than just an introverted girl trying to survive her school years. ]

But maybe you've had some good people around you.

[jamminshield]

[He knows not everyone's down for ridiculousness, but he won't let that deter him! He just answers Ange with a smile.]

Of course I have! In fact, I'm talking to one right now.

[entreats]

[ Apparently that statement manages to catch Ange off guard, despite Steven's cheerful attitude already having been pretty obvious up to this point. Her eyes widen a little, and then she awkwardly glances away for a moment, maybe even with her cheeks slightly lighting up since how does one deal with positivity. She sure has no idea.

After a few moments of that, there's a mumbled answer-- ]

.. Thanks.

[ And then, yet another moment later: ] I don't think your ridiculousness is all that bad.

[jamminshield]

[Aw, how adorable! Steven presses his hands against his cheeks excitedly, and catches everything she says.]

You don't? Aw, thank you Ange! It makes me really happy to hear that. Because I can get really ridiculous! Really, really ridiculous! Right, Don Prickles?

[He nudges at the cactus with his elbow, only to immediately wince and withdraw said elbow.]

Youch! ...Right! [He chuckles sheepishly.]

[entreats]

[ That sure is an example of said ridiculousness right after proclaiming it, huh. Ange already has one (catless) hand half-out instinctively when she watches his elbow head in that direction, but too late. Ouch. ]

Well, as long as you make sure it doesn't hurt you like that.

[ Please don't try to hug your cactus or something, Steven. ]

[It's already too late, unfortunately.]

Y-yeah. [With another meek chuckle, he looks towards his cactus.] It's a work in progress! Sometimes, the people you care about can just be a little prickly!
