+ Why, you're only a sort of thing in its dream! | MINGLE LOG +
Who: EVERYONE (Reals AND Mirrors!)
Where: D R E A M S I D E
When: June 6th - June 12th
Rating: PG-13, warn if going higher!
Summary: Mingle log for the Dream Side event! After the girls’ seance, every single person in Wonderland, no matter what they were doing at the time, will black out. When they awake, they will find themselves in a strange and twisted world outside of time - a different one than usual.
The Story:
After the girls’ seance, every single person in Wonderland, no matter what they were doing at the time, will black out. When they awake, they will find themselves in a strange and twisted world outside of time - a different one than usual. Elements may seem familiar, but it's clearly a different place.
Welcome, Mirrors and Reals, to DREAM SIDE. The sky above is dark and speckled with far-off stars but the world below is unnaturally lit and bright. There is a mansion at its center, but it is warped and unusual, as though someone stretched it like taffy, but if you try to enter it, you'll find that the door is not just locked - it appears to be painted on, as though it is just static scenery. It isn't a mansion that can be entered, just a cartoon-ish mansion cobbled together from dozens of memories.
Dream Side, as you might have guessed from the name, is not a static place. It is built from the scraps of dreams of those who cross into that side of Wonderland. Characters on this side of Wonderland are not asleep, but the world they are in is shaped by the contents of their dreams. Unlike the glass between Real Side and Mirror Side, there does not seem to be an obvious thing connecting this Side of Wonderland to the other two - at least, not something visible.
They are not alone in this world either - because the girls were conducting a seance, they have inadvertently called upon the dead. For each time your character has died a mansion death, there will be a ghostly copy of them wandering Dream Side. They will look as standard ghosts do - pale and translucent, looking as they did the moment they died. They will have a tendency to haunt their current living version (and those who care about them), but they will not be able to speak directly with them. For Mirrors, these ghosts can be Unmade versions of themselves, if they were ever Unmade. Some ghosts might be hostile and some might just gently haunt from a distance - it will depend on the character and what they would do if they were a ghost how they behave.
Behold, the world your dreams have built!

[Weirdo horse holidays...]
Yeah, now that you mention it, that weird sky does look a lot like the worst of those... Blank void thingies.
no subject
[Ugh it's such a dumb holiday.]
Exactly! It's like... I don't know. It seems like everything is disjointed- not quite linked together properly.
no subject
... Like a dream or something?
no subject
Hmmm, possibly?
[He rubs his chin with a forehoof.]
That would make sense. I wondered if it was our memories, but a dream would make more sense. Isn't that supposed to be something the Jabberwock does? Eat dreams?
no subject
[Shrug.]
... Now that you mention it, we are kind of sitting ducks right now.
no subject
[That they're in dreams. Literally the perfect hunting ground for that thing. ]
One of the Princesses back home guards our dreams- walks through them to protect us from nightmares... tries to help us understand them. What I wouldn't give to have her here now. I doubt we'll be much snuff against it on our own.
no subject
Whatever, the point is Kokichi sympathized with the nerdicorn right now.]
Yeah, closest we have to her might be that Red Queen... Wherever she is.
no subject
Hmmm. We haven't seen anything of her since the chess match. I wonder if the Core truly ate her or if she went somewhere else.
...Preferably not here.
no subject
And by the way, I meant the Red Queen. Not the Queen of Hearts.
no subject
[He was sure thinking about the Queen of Hearts.]
Though honestly, the Queen mess seems to grow more complicated every time. Especially after all that with the White Queen.
no subject
[He glances at the books again... Is there something about dreamwalking here?]
no subject
And now we have that Jabberock to tend with. Honestly, it's like Wonderland is actively trying to make our lives harder. ...More so than usual.
[He glances over.]
Are you looking for anything in particular? I might not be the librarian here, but I do spend a lot of time here. I might be able to help.
no subject
Not really. [Shoves that book on the shelf where it does not belong.] I doubt this horse library has anything on Wonderland BS.
no subject
Well, given Wonderland doesn't even exist as a work of fiction in Equestria, probably not, no.
[His horn lights up with magic as he levitates the book out of its wrong place and puts it back where it belongs. ]
no subject
That's a shame. You must have been really confused when you first showed up here.
[He remembers messing with Nerdicorn on the phone, that was fun. Simpler times, even.]
no subject
It wasn't the easiest period of my life, no. Especially as I had no experience with technology like the network before.
[HE REMEMBERS. ]
no subject
Sounds about right. No internet or anything? How did you all keep in touch?
no subject
no subject
[YEAH HE'S TOTALLY MESSING WITH YA.]
no subject
[The flattest of looks, young man :|]
no subject
Oh, yeah! So you have.
[Fiddling with a random book here.]
So, it's been that long since you've stepped foot in a building from home? How's it feel to sort of be here again?
no subject
I don't know. I'd like to say it's comforting, but it's not. I know it's not real. Besides, it doesn't change the fact I'm still the only pony here. I'm really starting to miss my own kind.
no subject
[He had to say it. He just had to.]
Don't worry, though. Maybe one day we'll get an event where everyone else gets turned into a magical unicorn thing.
no subject
[He considers this, then shrugs.]
Honestly, I think that would end up with more people complaining that they're trapped in pony bodies than anything else. Besides, I'd know they weren't really ponies. It wouldn't be the same.
