+ Why, you're only a sort of thing in its dream! | MINGLE LOG +

Who: EVERYONE (Reals AND Mirrors!)
Where: D R E A M S I D E
When: June 6th - June 12th
Rating: PG-13, warn if going higher!
Summary: Mingle log for the Dream Side event! After the girls’ seance, every single person in Wonderland, no matter what they were doing at the time, will black out. When they awake, they will find themselves in a strange and twisted world outside of time - a different one than usual.
The Story:

After the girls’ seance, every single person in Wonderland, no matter what they were doing at the time, will black out. When they awake, they will find themselves in a strange and twisted world outside of time - a different one than usual. Elements may seem familiar, but it's clearly a different place.

Welcome, Mirrors and Reals, to DREAM SIDE. The sky above is dark and speckled with far-off stars but the world below is unnaturally lit and bright. There is a mansion at its center, but it is warped and unusual, as though someone stretched it like taffy, but if you try to enter it, you'll find that the door is not just locked - it appears to be painted on, as though it is just static scenery. It isn't a mansion that can be entered, just a cartoon-ish mansion cobbled together from dozens of memories.

Dream Side, as you might have guessed from the name, is not a static place. It is built from the scraps of dreams of those who cross into that side of Wonderland. Characters on this side of Wonderland are not asleep, but the world they are in is shaped by the contents of their dreams. Unlike the glass between Real Side and Mirror Side, there does not seem to be an obvious thing connecting this Side of Wonderland to the other two - at least, not something visible.

They are not alone in this world either - because the girls were conducting a seance, they have inadvertently called upon the dead. For each time your character has died a mansion death, there will be a ghostly copy of them wandering Dream Side. They will look as standard ghosts do - pale and translucent, looking as they did the moment they died. They will have a tendency to haunt their current living version (and those who care about them), but they will not be able to speak directly with them. For Mirrors, these ghosts can be Unmade versions of themselves, if they were ever Unmade. Some ghosts might be hostile and some might just gently haunt from a distance - it will depend on the character and what they would do if they were a ghost how they behave.

Behold, the world your dreams have built!

[The Queen of Hearts nods in return, a silent agreement made.

Red sparks fly at the console once more. The radio crackles with interference, but Southern Nights still plays beneath it all. Those sparks snake up her arm and then scatter across her entire body. The current passes through her and then SNAPS, and when it does her ghostly image is different than before. She is younger now than she was, though perhaps not by much. Her hair is tied back and wild, and she is dressed for a battle. The vorpal sword is in her hand, where it should still be and where it was all those years ago. It is as much of a ghost as she is - transparent, even though it clearly has weight when she wields it.

She lifts her other hand out of the console, finally removing the interference from the radio. It almost makes the moment seem quiet, save for Southern Nights. It's as much gravity as she can possibly give her sentence under the circumstances.
]

When you slay a monster over and over, locked in combat for years and years with a creature that can never die...

[It happens in a blink. There's a fraction of a second between the moment the Queen of Hearts raises her blade, and the moment she buries it deep in George's stomach. Just like what happened to someone else who wasn't expecting it, long ago. Her face is inches from George's, eyes locked on hers.]

...you forget that others can.

[Then, she vanishes into nothing. George is left alone, with not even a scratch from the pale memory of the Vorpal Sword.]

[George gasps as the sword goes into her, eyes wide. Every one of the Queen's words hangs in the air crisp and as sharp as the sword in Georgia's belly should be.

Then she's gone, and Georgia clutches her stomach. There's no injury there, and after a moment, she realizes it doesn't hurt either.

And there it is. The answer to the mystery that's been plaguing her for so long. She knows what happened, or at least, close enough.

Siblings are complicated. She knows that as well as if not better than anyone else. And as much as she loves Shaun, there have been plenty of times when she wanted to kill him. Would she have found the prospect unbearably tempting if she knew he'd come back? If she had reason to think it would be without cost?

She doesn't think so. But at the same time, she understands. Sometimes you hurt people more than you mean to, whether with your words or actions. It doesn't exactly excuse the Queen, but it makes Georgia understand her a little better. She thinks she even knows why the Queen was as awful as she was in her time as Queen of the Mirror Side. How else could she cope with having murdered her sister, than by becoming the sort of person who would?

Georgia touches her stomach again, marveling at the complete lack of injury, then shoves her hand down. She has work to do.]
