Summary: Something is coming...
The Story:

Starting on the night of September 11 and continuing for the following 2 nights, characters will go to sleep as normal. However, they will find that their dreams are unexpectedly vivid. Even characters who don't normally dream will experience this. Even characters who don't normally sleep will experience it.

Many of Wonderland's guests have dealt with events that distorted their dreams before, but this? This is a little different. Because something is coming in those dreams. Something not altogether friendly.

If you'd like your character to encounter this...something, post their dreams to this log.

He's panicking and on the verge of tears when the woman appears. He looks up towards her, distraught.

"Y-yeah, I think so!" He thought he could protect everyone by himself, but then that just happened. "I'm trying to find... everyone. Everyone from the mansion, and the mansion itself - something's wrong!"

[manxomnivore]

"I see."

She raises a hand and a tiny Mansion much like the one that just disappeared floats above her hand.

"This is what you wish to have back?"

His eyes widen as he beholds it, and he frantically points right at it.

"Yes, that's it! The mansion! What happened - is everyone okay?"

[manxomnivore]

"I do not know. But if this is what you want--"

She tosses it into the air.

"Then you can have it."

[agemofchange]

"Whoa!" He staggers forward and reaches desperately to try to catch it! If successful, he'll clutch the mansion close to his chest.

"...Who are you, anyway?"

[manxomnivore]

The Mansion isn't difficult to catch. It almost floats down into his arms rather than falling.

"I am a nightmare waiting to be had." She smiles at him.

He holds the mansion carefully and looks down at it, trying to spot any signs of life. At the same time, the stranger's words concern him.

"A... nightmare? Why a nightmare? Yooouuu seem pretty pleasant to me!"

[manxomnivore]

"Thank you."

She appreciates his kind words!

A few sounds filter out of the tiny Mansion, as though that party is getting back underway. It's a bit hesitant and halting, but there are people in there.

"No problem!" he says with a sincere smile. She may be somewhat mysterious, but the stranger seems nice enough. She helped him find the mansion again, after all!

And he perks up as he hears the mansion. "Oh! I hear them! And- and not in pain this time! This is great!"

The woman steps closer to him. "Why aren't you with them? Were you not invited?"

"I was!" He answers quickly, but then he blinks. "I think." Dream memories are a tricky thing.

"I just... decided to stay out here and stand guard. Because bad things can go down in Wonderland at any time! So if I'm out here keeping a look out, then... everyone else can have fun without getting interrupted!"

[manxomnivore]

"You're also too big." She points from him to the mansion. "You wouldn't fit."

"Oh! Right." He blinks as his mind now allows him to realize that's a really good point. But then he's quick to dismiss that.

"That's okay! I can shapeshift. So I could just make myself small enough to fit inside, no problem!"

[manxomnivore]

She looks at him shrewdly. "Why don't you?"

[agemofchange]

"Fine, I'll show you right now! Take a look, at the incredible shrinking boy!"

He pauses, but nothing happens. Then he starts making some grunts, he balls his fists and he closes his eyes. ...And he starts to grow larger instead of smaller!

The woman watches him without comment until he begins to grow.

"You're doing it wrong."

"Huh?" He opens his eyes - and they widen as he realizes what's happened.

"W-wait! Am I just getting bigger?! That's, like, the opposite of what's supposed to happen! Hang on...!"

He tries to focus again... only to grow even taller. "Ah!!"

[manxomnivore]

"Perhaps being large is what you truly want? Perhaps you don't wish to be with the others at all."

She smiles and although it is perfectly friendly on the surface, there are sharp teeth behind it.

"No, it's not like that!" he says quickly, as he grows another inch. "I- I want to be with them... but I also don't want them to get hurt again. I want to be able to protect them from everything!"

He looks down at the small mansion with a frown.

"...If... if getting too big to be with them is the price to pay for keeping them safe, then... then I'll just have to keep being big." His shoulders slump, and he sounds defeated.

"What if you step on them?" Always a possibility!

[agemofchange]

"N-no!" His face goes pale. "I'd never do that. Not to my friends!!"

But now he's kinda paranoid and looks down at the ground, trying to make sure there aren't traces of any people near his feet.

"I... I'll just have to stay still! Then I'll never step on any of them ever! There, problem solved."

[manxomnivore]

"...I'm not sure that's a good long term solution. Perhaps if you had smaller feet..."

It would ruin his balance and he'd fall, but at least he wouldn't step on anyone.

"But you know, it wouldn't matter at all if you were alone here."

[agemofchange]

Steven gives a confused fret at her suggestion, and then he focuses on what she has to say next.

"What do you mean it wouldn't matter? Being alone is... it's a pretty significant thing!"

[manxomnivore]

"Are you sure about that?"

She snaps and the little Mansion disappears again.

"Now it's just you and I. And if I were to go?"

"No!" He gasps as the mansion disappears, and then he grasps at empty air. "Wh-what..."

Steven then frowns as he looks back up towards the woman.

"If - if you left too... then that'd just be really, really sad!"
